My rewards of the last 2 rounds were a little bit low (about 3/4 of the rounds before) and the estimated reward is 1/10 at the moment, but the website was a little slow a few minutes ago so i think something happened in the background and it will get back to normal.

Anyone else have low rewards/shares the last few rounds? Looks like my rewards were cut in half but estimated reward is currently on track, confused...

My last three turned a bit sub-par as well.

21768 - 2014-03-05 09:29:54 : about -15% (definitely low)
21767 - 2014-03-05 08:23:34 : about - 5% (still within acceptable limits)
21766 - 2014-03-05 01:09:03 : about - 2% (normal statistical deviation)

Select the server "slush's pool(IPv6/alt)"

Not in the list. Just "slush's pool".

If it still doesn't connect or mine, there could be a firewall issue

The log seems to indicate otherwise. It used to work, I have made no firewall changes, but I did upgrade to Windows 8.1 which may be significant.

You might of course consider this worthwhile as a hobby, but you can earn more with your GPU by Scrypt mining through ScryptGuild.

I'm sort of doing it as a hobby, not expecting any significant return, but thanks; I'll look into alternatives.

GUIminer is fairly obsolete and doesn't include alot of changes after its last release, but it should still work with the Video Driver (its OpenCL Driver component needs to be up-to-date) properly installed.

Try to enter all data manually using the Pool list entry "other" , sounds like you have a systemic issue there (i.e. some syntax error or alike). If all else fails, try to connect to another pool for troubleshooting.

Since your card seems to be the HD6450, expect something like... 30MH/s performance.
If your Video card is passively cooled like many of these HD6450's, you could actually kill that card in a relatively short time - unless your PC case has good cooling.

Can't you see the difference?
You are using port 8333, while the stratum port is 3333. As FalconFly suggested - use "other" and enter the pool details there.

About six weeks ago there were a few people here dissing Slush and the pool. I ran an experiment and moved half of my hashing to BTC Guild. Almost exactly the same payout from both. Moving all back to Slush today.

I do have a small concern though, my payout on one block was 0. Where did you all say support questions should be posted for the pool, his Facebook account or something?

http://support.bitcoin.cz

But before you post, make sure it is not something on your side (which for this round most likely is).

Compare your shares (as percentage of all pool shares) for this round with those from the round before and after - you will most likely have less shares for 21760 and 21761, because your miner was not working or has not been connected to the pool at the end of the round.
The shares you have for round 21760 are for ~7GH, so if your miner has more than that it's clear it wasn't working

My reward for 21760 was also low, about -12.5% relatively to my proportion of shares.

All rounds are accounted for at my side  (currently upto Slush block #21773).  Which rounds are missing at your side?

Hey guys,

New to bitcoin mining. Joined slush's pool. This is just kinda something im playing with and dont expect to make any real money off of it. Currently running m gpu and getting about 75 Mhash/s. I dont really want to continue to use my GPU to mine. I was looking into ASICMiner Block Erupter 335 mh/s for around 25 dollars used. My question is are there any compatibility issues i will have with these or should it just be a plug in and mine type of deal? Like i said, i dont expect to make money just playing around, not trying to invest a couple grand into a unit to hash for me.

Thanks. Red

You should not have any compatibility issues. It is essentially plug and hash. But it depends on the software.

This - but shop around, you can get them for closer to $10 on eBay now. Don't expect to ever make your money back though, unless BTC go up crazily in price...

Just to add to that - you might do better with an Antminer U1 which work in the same way, but hash 6 times faster for around twice the price.

Also be aware that the minimum payout is 0.01BTC at slush's Pool, others have similar minimum payout limits. You'll have to check that before joining one with small hardware.

Whatever hardware you look into needs to be able to make this limit within a timeframe that is acceptable to you.
Otherwise, you'd have to buy more than one device, that is a cost question (since none of these devices can ever even remotely ROI, you increase your losses with each additional device; you need to decide if the mining adventure is worth the price).

Some examples of available, small miners if you started mining with them today (based on projected difficulty increases)

336MH/s Block Erupter :
March ~0.001 BTC in remaining month + April ~0.00074 BTC/month + May ~0.00042 BTC/month + Jun ~0.00024 BTC/month = ~0.0024 BTC in 4 months
That thing will never make it to minimum payout, if only one is used.

1.6GH/s Antminer U1 :
March ~0.0047 BTC in remaining month + April ~0.0035 BTC/month + May ~0.0020 BTC/month + Jun ~0.0012 BTC/month = ~0.0114 BTC in 4 months
That device will take about 3 months to reach 0.01 BTC, possibly won't generate another minimum payout due to diff increase.

2.0GH/s Antminer U2 :
March ~0.0059 BTC in remaining month + April ~0.0044 BTC/month + May ~0.0025 BTC/month + Jun ~0.0015 BTC/month = ~0.0143 BTC in 4 months
That device will take about 2 months to generate 0.01 BTC, likely will generate one more minimum payout due to diff increase.

4.5GH/s TwinFury :
March ~0.0131 BTC in remaining month + April ~0.0100 BTC/month + May ~0.0057 BTC/month + Jun ~0.0033 BTC/month = ~0.0321 BTC in 4 months
That device will take about 2.5 weeks to generate 0.01 BTC, still useful for a few more minimum payouts.

5.0GH/s BiFury :
March ~0.0146 BTC in remaining month + April ~0.0111 BTC/month + May ~0.0063 BTC/month + Jun ~0.0036 BTC/month = ~0.0356 BTC in 4 months
That device will take about 2 weeks to generate 0.01 BTC, still useful for a few more minimum payouts.

Yes you are right they are random and unexpected..... Also our hashrate is lower than the larger pools so high variation in earning is to be expected.

I do not mine though as i have moved on. Tongue
