Anyone have a good explanation as to what is actually happening when the block is " processing "?

Processed blocks have several technical advantages over natural blocks, including: far longer shelf-life; resistance to separating when cooked; and, a uniform look and physical behavior.

Its mass-produced nature provides arguably its greatest advantage over natural blocks: a dramatically lower cost -- to producers and consumers, alike -- than conventional blockmaking. This is often due to ingredients that are more widely-varied and of simpler quality. This, in turn, enables industrial-scale production volumes, lower distribution costs, a steadier supply, and much faster production time (compared to natural blocks).

Looks like someone is bored Smiley

Bah. The truth is that block processing is the transformation of raw shares into blocks, or of blocks into other forms. Block processing typically takes clean, harvested, or butchered shares and uses these to produce attractive, marketable and often long shelf-life bitcoin products.

Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

Processing is such a lame term.  Reticulating Splines is much cooler.

When not playing World of Goo, I actually prefer to immanentize the eschaton.

I obviously am not trying to outdo our Hero Members' amazing sense of humor Smiley, however the 'dry' explanation is that once the block is found by the pool, the individual rewards are calculated based on the shares contributed by each member (applying in our case Slush's unique exponential decay algorithm to calculate the 'score' of each contributor).  The output of this 'processing' is your individual share and reward that is added to your 'confirmed reward' and eventually sent to your wallet once you cross your payout threshold.

+1, and my payout threshold should have been crossed.  Raised ticket.  It is probably related to block #21696 (286444) being stuck in eternal Processing....

Similar 'episodes' have happened here in the past, and in all cases in my experience have been rectified eventually (usually after some considerable time and lots of angst among Slush members)

286354, 286356 ,286357 are confirmed and added to my confirmed reward. But also here block 286444 is in processing for about 5,5 hours.

I did my sums, and the present 'confirmed reward' on the account page does not include the contribution of 286354, 286356 and 286357.  Agree that 286444 is 'processing...' for eternity.  You may also raise a ticket on the Slush support page (click on Knowledge Base on the left side of the account page, register (not the same credentials as the pool login) and create a new ticket).

Sorry, I was to hasty. The reward for confirmed blocks 286354, 286356 ,286357 are not added to my confirmed reward but added to my unconfirmed reward. When I add the rewards for confirmed blocks 286354, 286356 ,286357 and unconfirmed blocks 286376 and 286404 the outcome corresponds with the number showed in the unconfirmed reward field. Somehow the rewards for confirmed blocks is not transferred from the unconfirmed reward field to the confirmed reward field.

[edit] Will raise a ticket for this...

No problem, raising the ticket can help.  I'm certain that block 286376 will suffer the same problem as those before it when it gets confirmed soon.  Edit:  and so it is - 286376 is confirmed but does not contribute to the 'confirmed reward' on the account page.

I've been out of the game for the past 2 weeks since i sold my ASIC blades and my Antminers finally came in...

I see that the pool has shrunk... whats up with that?

Also has the "pool luck" calculation changed? Its showing 225% right now, yet the past 3-4 blocks were all over 4-5 hours each.

I can't speak for anyone else, and I'm only a drop in the pool, but I've recently redirected my hashing to P2Pool, via P2Pool.io (there's only three miners active on this node at the moment). I'm tempted to run my own p2pool node but I wanted to try it out first. To be honest I have itchy feet, I'm used to regular payouts from Slush, and the p2p payouts have been much smaller with longer gaps so far, I know this should average out though. I do prefer the concept of p2p, but Slush is more like the warm, reassuring blanket of home.

I have had bad experiences with those pools before, but with Doge coin. I've noticed that there sometimes are address listed in the payout section, but not in the mining section. Usually they get the most, yet never mine. Too many people trying to skim off the top and scam people.

EDIT:  I just checked out http://p2pool.io/  How are there payouts already if there are no solved blocks yet?
