nice app. . .   not sure I want to run it on a linux box just to get updates though :-). .   but pretty cool. .

though not sure I want to be getting block updates. . .   it might be pretty depressing waiting for one for 10, 12, 16+ hours Sad

doesn't necessarily need to be linux since it's ruby

yep - essentially a day or two of bad luck has pulled the weekly pool luck down to 25 points. .   Hadn't seen that in a long long time. . .  Let's hope its an anomaly vs the new norm. . .

I don't know what the time it takes a block has to do with it, or the duration of the round.... but I haven't had a payout from slush pool all day and usually I have about 10 payouts by now, does anybody else have this problem today?

Yeah, and sadly weekends tend to be slow. If we don't see the tides change by Monday I might need to find a new pool, although I really hate messing with settings when everything works...

It's funny because a few pages back, well maybe a few weeks ago, someone was giving me a bunch of shit because I was saying that complaining about "luck" is on topic. They were trying to say comments about luck were meaningless. I dunno, I've long speculated that our luck drops heavily when there is a technical problem backstage that we are unaware of, part of this has to do with the consecutive long blocks and when they clear up we usually have a run of incredibly good luck. I've also noticed, for whatever reason, blocks seem longer on the weekends. These types of pattern always seem to me like there's more to it than pure forces of luck. I do wonder right now if there's some issue with our pool that we just don't know about...

Not sure if more is going on behind the scenes than just "bad luck".....but it sure is weird.  even little tiny pool sites I never heard of are running circles around slush.  perhaps a little bit more transparency and communication is needing during times like these.

I just wrote an app that will monitor the slush api and tells you when the pool finds a block.
It can optionally send push notifications to iOS/android via https://pushover.net

https://github.com/professoruss/blockfound

Let me know if you have any feedback or can find a cheaper push app (pushover is $4.99)

output looks like this:
Found new block!! Elapsed: 11:52:20 Hashrate: 879340.212GH/s

is it possible for you to send the message to multiple users (my minepeon rpi doesnt have ruby (trying to keep it as stock as possible) and my mac doesnt run 24/7) ?

if so, can I pm you my pushover api key?

Has everyone received mining payouts that were due? I should have got .01 sent to me yesterday but it has disappeared from my account and there is no record of it in the transaction history. Does it usually take this long or has it vanished?
