EDIT:  HAD TO MAKE A CORRECTION ON AN ERROR TO GHASH MATH, WHICH SEE:

anyone done a 24hr pool comparison earnings chart with excel like how much is made in a 24 hr period? I did one with slush versus ghash and well i cant figure out the data i am getting from slushes pool for example

Now today I am back home mining at slushs but its been oh the whole day and says pending reward the usual .004* its this a 24hr block we are mining on right now? Seems like i have been mining the same one all day anyone else seeing this?

24 hours is not enough time for the whole picture.  Look at this...

I know they have lower pay outs.  I'm not trying to say their pool is better.  I know it takes approximately 7.5 to 8.0 blocks for every one of ours.  to be the same payout.  I know they find approximately 36.4 blocks each day on average from what I've seen since Sept. 22nd.  This puts them above 100 % Luck since September 22, 2014.  I saw 48 blocks one day and 45 blocks on another day.  I've seen 31 blocks on another, minus orphan blocks.

If you divide 36.4 blocks [each day average] by 8.0 you get 4.5 of OUR blocks found on Slush.

Slush is averaging right at 8 PH/s TOTAL hashing power.  At present difficulty, that is approximately 5 hours 10 minutes time for each block found.  To be at 100% Luck for the week [while maintaining a consistent 8 PH/s] we would need to find [24 hours divided by 5.16666667 hours] = 4.64516129 blocks each day during that week.  Again, that's to maintain 100% Luck.

[Slush] 4.64516129 blocks x .01452471 average shares with 4.67 TH/s = 0.06746962 BTC average each day.  That would be 2.02408860 BTC in 30 days (1 month).

GHash is averaging right at 60 PH/s TOTAL hashing power.  At present difficulty, that is approximately 41 minutes 21 seconds for each block found.  To be at 100% Luck for the week [while maintaining a consistent 60 PH/s] they would need to find [24 hours divided by .68775 hours] = 34.8964013 blocks each day during that week.  Again, that's to maintain 100% Luck.

EDIT:  CORRECTION MADE TO GHASH ON AVERAGE SHARES, WHICH CHANGES ALL NUMBERS

[GHash] 34.8964013 blocks x .00191766 average shares with 4.67 TH/s = 0.06691943 BTC average each day.  That would be 2.00758299 BTC in 30 days (1 month).  ALSO, one also gets bonus alt coins as well.  Such as NMC and others.  It's a bonus all the way.  Not sure how well those coins are doing and their value related to BTC.  Haven't really looked into THAT part of it deep enough yet.

So, NO, according to the math, GHash pays better in BTC in my opinion AS LONG AS it maintains 100% luck.  I'm convinced to mine on GHash for now.  My opinion may change after a few days.  We'll see...

I wasn't trying to cut down slush at all when I said, "GHash found 12 blocks in less than an hour."  Not at all!  I was just pointing out they were VERY LUCKY during THAT hour.

They took 4 hours to find one block today and 2 hours a couple of other times.

Again, I was only pointing out how lucky they got during a one hour period.

David

how is 2.00758299 BTC in 30 days [Ghash], better than 2.02408860 BTC in 30 days [Slush]  ?

I stand corrected.  Not much sleep.  They are more than likely the same when you add on the alt coin.  So, one is just as good as the other.  I suppose one should just play the pool they feel will be luckier for that day, week, month or year.

I suppose we wake up and say, "Which pool will be luckiest today?"

I went over to GHash when we were in our 11th hour and made a little thus far [Payments high-lighted in red].  I got tired of waiting.

I was actually conservative with my .0019..... per block average shares on GHash.  My .0019 estimate was based on 60 PH/s.  However, we were at 57.7 PH/s on average which would make my shares at the .0020 that they are.  My shares would have been at .0019.... if they had 60 PH/s going at the time.  The .0016.... was less because all of my miners were not connected yet when that block was found.

I provided my Hashing Rate in BLUE for support.  This is with 10 Bitmain AntMiner S3's:

However, changing from one to the other often can hurt you more than help you.  Probably best to stay with one several days before going to another if one chooses to hop from one to the other.

I edited my edit to say they are both approximately the same after factoring in the alt-coin.

Whats going on with this statistic?

Current round duration:   17:24:29
does that mean i am only going to get my estimate reward for this many hours of mining

Estimated reward: Estimated reward for current round 0.00472682 BTC

is that .004 for 17 and still going hours of hashing?

whats going on here at slushes tonight?

That is all you will get IF AND WHEN A BLOCK IS FOUND.  It would be much less than that if you were on GHash because of more miners to share with.  However, they have been finding blocks the last 5 hours that I left Slush.  Working on the 6th hour now.

Well, Slush FINALLY found one.

They need to find one again in a matter of just a few minutes.

COME ON SLUSH!!!

I'll come back over IF they find another in less than an hour.  Otherwise, I'm staying here for 24 hours to see how it goes.

I started out on GHash at their 1st block found for the 10th day of October.  I'm going to hang out here the entire 10th day of October just to see how it goes.

I came back to slush  today after running a 24hr test at ghash only to find this 17 hr block for a whopping .004BTC ? I am scratching my head

So, you agree with my post on the previous page as well that they pay out approximately the same IF they both are running at 100% Luck [The SAME luck.]?

Those LONG blocks tend to eat away at my shares too for some reason on Slush.  Not real bad but they do lower my shares a little more than the short blocks found.  I don't know why?

I just dont get the payout sturcture of mining I am new to this
now its showing estimated reward 0.00480299 BTC for the current block so if this is say a 15min block then thats what I am paid ??
so you get paid that same 0.00480299 BTC based upon your hasrate and score regardless of how long a round takes?

3 of my 6 additional S3's will be at my door step today.  FedEx tracking shows them at their facility here in Birmingham at 23:39 (just before midnight).  I already have 1 Corsair AX860 waiting for 2 of them.

My Amazon order for 2 more Corsair AX860's are also being delivered today via UPS.

I'M EXCITED!!!!!!!!

 Grin Grin Grin

The other 3 S3's should be here Saturday via FedEx.  I need to finish that additional Sub Panel (Breaker Panel) quick like!!!

YES.

You are seeing your constant shares based on your hashing power in relation to everyone else mining on the pool.

IF Slush found a block every minute [Which would be sweet] you would get that reward for every block found.

Your shares will fluctuate up and down while miners get on and off the pool during mining.

NOBODY makes anything unless a block is found.  At present difficulty of finding a block, it would take Slush approximately 5 hours and 17 minutes on average to find a block.  However, it can vary GREATLY depending on luck, as you have just seen on Slush.

We found 13 blocks in one day on Slush since I started mining on Slush.  Slush could average 4.5 blocks each day according to their total hashing power on the 22nd of September.  So, Slush did very well as far as LUCK that day.  EXTREMELY WELL!!!

I MUST sleep now.  Have a good night!  And HAPPY MINING!!!  GOOD LUCK!!!

This is a follow up to show 60 Ph/s versus a 57.7 Ph/s on GHash does knock down "shares earned" from .00204... to .00191... on average.  So, my Slush and GHash comparisons were pretty much accurate for the most part.

GHash was probably more like .00193933 on average at 60 Ph/s [even] instead of the .00191766 I had previously posted.  But like I said, "It was a CONSERVATIVE estimate.

So, Back to my pool comparison:

[GHash] 34.8964013 blocks x .00193933 average shares with 4.67 TH/s = 0.066767564 BTC average each day.  That would be 2.03026914 BTC in 30 days (1 month).  ALSO, one also gets bonus alt coins as well.  Such as NMC and others.  It's a bonus all the way.  Not sure how well those coins are doing and their value related to BTC.  Haven't really looked into THAT part of it deep enough yet.

Slush = 2.02408860 BTC in 30 days

GHash = 2.03026914 BTC in 30 days

They are both so close to being the same in BTC earnings that it PROVES either pool would be fine to mine.  Yes, GHash does give bonus alt-coins as well.  That may make them a little more attractive.  However, Slush can be a bit more attractive on the days they hit well more than 100 % pool luck.  Does that mean GHash does not ever have more than 100% pool luck.  No, they have hit as much as 60 blocks in 24 hours on some days.

Either one of those pools are just as good as the other.  I suppose when we wake up we make a decision on which pool we think will be the luckiest for that day.

Yeah, but when you hop away from Slush, you pretty well sacrifice your shares in the block being worked on.  Best to stick with one or the other IMHO, or both of course, which would even out your variance a bit more.  You might find that's something worth trying: you could put half your ants on Slush and the other half on Ghash.  Personally, I would always stay with Slush - we might get some long blocks, but we certainly get a good number of short ones to compensate.
