As can be seen from the whitepaper, the tokensale is divided into 3 stages for 200 million in 2018-2019-2020, explain why it was done?

They will have three icos. Interesting idea for the crypto market but not unorthodox if we think stock market. Still, it is a new thing for us, I hope they get the success out of it.
Yes, I also hope, in principle, this is not the first project with several ico, in the future we can make an analogy with the same OAX and draw some conclusions ..

Yes, it would be nice to have a data what is the projection of more than one ico companies. Maybe it is more profitable for investors.

The forum strives to allow free discussion of any ideas. All policies are built around this principle. This doesn't mean you can post garbage, though: posts should actually contain ideas, and these ideas should be argued reasonably.

I read some of you talking about smart contracts but we don't know if the GAT blockchain will have smart contracts. In fact I wanna know when the entire blockchain's documentation will be released

not sure if they're necessary since Gatcoin controls everything about any tokens minted for their customers.

Exactly, there's no need for smart contracts, they just need to mint tokens based on merchant's demands. I don't see merchants manage directly all their tokens

Correct!, one of GATCOIN's main feature is to "offer merchants a plug and play solution for deploying digital tokens", thereby eliminating most of the constraints in setting up one.

So much projects right now that I missed this feature. That's interesting.

Its def difficult to thoroughly study every ICO, thats why I like bitcointalk treads like this where we can openly discuss a project. Reading other peoples opinions always helps, and often somebody saw something I missed initially

Not sure what do you mean by the rival with ether. As far as I know, Gatcoin is based on ETH so, it can not be a rival.

Why do you think this? According to what I've read GATCOIN will not be a a ethereum kinda network, it's a token which runs on the ETH blockchain?

Cash Tokens: used as pre-paid cash to buy products and services

 Loyalty Tokens: used to replace loyalty points to redeem rewards
 Gift Tokens: used as gift vouchers to send to friends and family
 Travel Tokens: used as portable currency to spend globally in network merchant stores

They ll have this kinds of special tokens. But which rates for all this tokens to Gat token? Can you tell me?

So this all kinds of coins is Gat Token?
Theyre merchant tokens, not gat token, but can be exchanged with gat token.

does every of this tokens has the value of one gat? or whats the exchange course?

OMG.. this is real picture?  Grin
Where is this? In China? Im not sure that this is good adversiting.. but this attracts people's attention really...

It is kinda unusual and also probably illegal to put graffiti in the underground station, but i guess any commercial is a good commercial.

honestly i think that this is clearly photoshopped. if you look closer on the writing you can clearly see that from the angle of the picture taken, the text should be more distorted to the right.

The image came from a video.
I think its real, great marketing. If not still nice to see this Wink

There can always be a coin swap, look at Quatum they also used the smart contract of Ethereum and just did a token swap to there own network.
Its done before so.

I can see the plan is to release a voucher in 2018 in Japan that is usable in 30k retail stores and 80k restaurants and more. Is there any more info on this? Maybe a small list of
retailers that will 100% accept it?

Yes, he probably thinks a new blockchain based on gatcoin and merchants can make their smart contract on it. But he is wrong, Gatcoin doesn't have a purpose to be a rival with ether. It is on ether Smiley

Every company wants this kind of statistics. The question is - will GATCOIN sell this info to third parties or they will be using this only for themselves?

Well, I must have a rare opinion but I'm not opposed at all to merchants having personnal datas about me. These are used to make better and more adapted products, while understanding consumers behaviour. Ok, their goal is to make more money, but they make more money because their products become better for me.

It is a generational thing. There are generations of people that still remember the world before the mass adoption of internet who are less comfortable with the collection of personal data. On the other hand, the generation that was born with a smartphone in their hand, so to speak, welcomes an internet that is tailored to their preferences.

It is that latter group for whom GATCOIN's analysis of consumer behavior would be a particular win-win-win situation: consumers benefit from better offers, retailers get more insight in their consumers and GATCOIN earns more fees.

Best example is google of course with all its genius services. Take alone google maps and how precisely it navigates you from A to B by now with all kinds of alternatives should there be traffic problems. Why is that possible? Because I give them access to my mobility data. There is a good and a bad side to that of course. But we also need to decide what we do want and what we do not want. If we want a super easy life with computers telling us everything, then data is the currency we have to use for payment.

Another example is medical data. For example, if hospitals combined all data on cancer treatments and cancer patients, there could be more effective treatments. The reason is that cancer is commonly treated in a one-size-fits-all fashion (tons of chemo and radiation) instead of a personalized treatment based on the type of cancer and its location among other characteristics.

But many hospitals prefer to sit on their data, which by the way is often stored in a non-standard proprietary format too. This situation is not helped by privacy advocates fighting medical databases.

https://www.statnews.com/2017/06/06/data-sharing-cancer-treatment/

Now we are straying far away from GATCOIN's area but I think the message that analyzing consumer data could provide a mutual benefit is clear.

Yes this is another very interesting and relevant example from your side. I think you can gain infinite benefits from analyzing data over and over again. Logically, there is no limit to the results that you could gather from a growing set of data. We need the infrastructures in place that provide sufficient security for all the data to be pooled and analyzed without violating privacy aspects. We are on the right way I think.

Probably because Gatecoin is already the name of an exchange and because they like the meaning of GAT, which is an abbreviation for “Global Awards Token”.

Its like you go to a brand store and buy something, their default system may be of loyalty points or Coupons. you can sell them for Gatcoins and buy something like travel tokens for your next trip. Its actually a great idea for increasing the usability of all these.

another similar project is snapup i think...

Not exactly. GatCoin is more of a coupon-trade system while SnapUp is a token-backed bid-based store.

There are a lot of merchants nowadays which want to increase the number of their customers by offered tokens. To be honest, not all people will regularly use the services from such merchant, hence sometimes they had to throw away the tokens they got because it is impossible for them to colect the required tokens to be eligible to exchange it with a reward. GATcoin will solve this problem I guess. Instead of throwing away their unused tokens, people can trade it.

The danger lies in "there is no limit to the results that you could gather from a growing set of data." You can combine and massage data in any way you want to get any result that is desired.

Risking a Godwin, here is an example:

Chillingly, there can be no question that the Geheime Staatspolizei’s aura of omniscience was due in no small measure to its special competence in gathering and organizing huge quantities of data on resistance movements, potentially subversive individuals, informers, industrial firms, publications, even other security agencies, and making that information readily accessible to its field agents through an ingeniously contrived system of multi-colored index cards. One shudders to think what the Gestapo might have done with just a handful of the data-mining tools currently employed by the NSA.

And:

the "only way to protect the people’s privacy is not to allow the government to collect their information in the first place.”

http://www.businessinsider.com/stasi-talks-about-nsa-surveillance-state-2013-6

Or perhaps more relevant to us:

“Miners are getting jailed and accused of terrorism, money laundering, computer crimes and many other crimes,” read one comment from a user who claimed to be Venezuelan.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/worldviews/wp/2017/03/10/bitcoin-mining-is-big-business-in-venezuela-but-the-government-wants-to-shut-it-down/

Filling in those PC hardware cashback forms with your name and address could land you in trouble. If GATCOIN has a way to redeem rewards without giving away that much personal information, that would be a boon for privacy.

Yes, that's the point. How often did I just throw away some points for reward programs I never used or just said I don't want them. Would really love to haven an opportunity to change them in some usefull points to use them in the shops I regulary visit.
