"Anoncoin may fare differently, but history suggests the Anoncoin price will fall just as quickly as it rose. Consequently, altcoin investors would be wise to avoid centralizing too much of their holdings in one coin."

One should of course never put all the eggs in one basket, but what history is he refering to regarding the price falling? I can't remember any flash crash.

He is talking about how Darkcoin went to 60 million and then they had technical problems. We will never know what would have happened without the problematic forks/sporks. I am willing to bet on the promise of perfect anonymity with ANC myself. Pretty easy to compare perfect anon with everything else.

POSSIBLE ANONCOIN BUG REPORT

Hi. Today we are faced with a problem reported by some Bleutrade users that withdraw his was not working. We found it strange being our lasts withdraws with 0 confirmations. We decided to investigate.

::::: Normal Withdraw Today :::::

    {
        "account" : "",
        "address" : "ALvNv6ydiqNuey129MXJV4tywqBPn9USyW",
        "category" : "send",
        "amount" : -47.78000000,
        "fee" : 0.00000000,
        "confirmations" : 0,
        "txid" : "0013dd6a25d222ceb203b1977d60a7db5f6f9b91c1c186f65517b29abcc8dfbc",

        "timereceived" : 1412854096,
        "comment" : "b w17686 e4050480",
        "to" : "b w17686 e4050480"
    },

0 confirmations? why?...

This transaction also does not appear in explorer. hmm... ok, let's investigate...

For this example, we will use a normal transaction in the original wallet (Another Normal Withdraw, days ago):

    {
        "account" : "",
        "address" : "ASz5NtGjBRjHoP2RPqeCAEcbvm1KC3xwcx",
        "category" : "send",
        "amount" : -446.11059087,
        "fee" : 0.00000000,
        "confirmations" : 65164,
        "blockhash" : "7f5310f1bab45d6157fb4fc00d0f440f1d5db5c6b4d689e72118dce046373512",

        "blocktime" : 1401023096,
        "txid" : "df1298124eb24a0b24dcd80a921e9c60578391bf7eff54241d05760976dd2d07",
        "time" : 1401022562,
        "timereceived" : 1401022562,
        "comment" : "b w2721 e126667",
        "to" : "b w2721 e126667"
    },

First step to test, creating a new wallet.dat with all existing addresses and privkeys.

After RESCAN and REINDEX and CHECKBLOCKS etc..:

:::: SURPRISE :::::

The transaction of example disappears and this appears:

    {
        "account" : "",
        "address" : "AMwxitA4zzi54Ax2kngNnvw8nGChwBDQuh",
        "category" : "send",
        "amount" : -757.03044568,
        "fee" : 0.00000000,
        "confirmations" : 65193,
        "blockhash" : "bc31fcc6c5c333e7efdaadbd088e6873a7e7c7c9007444feccd0b8bb4dc321dc",
        "blockindex" : 1,
        "blocktime" : 1401017947,

    },

"AYQWQCixS4cpi4gyc8vVdmrNCzKRsm245J(310.91985481 ANC - Unspent)" - Anonymizer? ok, but...

Our ORIGINAL wallet.dat does not contain the private key or another key or path of 'AYQWQCixS4cpi4gyc8vVdmrNCzKRsm245J'!!!

This is the explanation for non-confirmations of the lasts withdraws. The Blockchain not recognize this and other addresses. Was forgotten in time. This may not have been affected by a forked block, because it is an old transaction.

We can not trust the current app, we does not understand because on send 446.11059087, 310.91985481 ANC lost to a arbitrary nonexistent address in a original wallet.dat! The application is not storing correctly the private keys of anonymizer addresses.

Final Thoughts

We ask immediately withdraw their ANCs from Bleutrade. We do not know what may happen in the future, because this app is not updated over 1 year. We believe that there may exist bug in a hidden zero coin system that does not properly stores the transactions wallet.dat file. Sorry for the inconvenience.

OK. Seems bleutrade is dead now too. They are even more stupid than craptsy...

So Cryptsy keeps getting ANC transactions stuck and now Bleutrade gives this warning telling people to withdrawal ANC coins. Where are we supposed to trade?

Is it a coincidence that both Cryptsy and Bleutrade are blaming us or is something seriously wrong with our code?

See response from Mullick (Cryptsy rep):

You can trade on every exchange who have ANC.
Miners are mad, or not, don't know I'm not miner, traders are safe like always.

Bluetrade play safe so that's the reason they do this. And there was like 0-100$ volume,
so , this was probably just ad for them   Grin

K1 can give much info about, but he hate to talk much and repeat himself   Wink

Again, everything is ok, and will be solved as planed.

EDIT:

Bluetrade volume for all coins = 1BTC  https://coinmarketcap.com/exchanges/bleutrade/

Great to see ANC on 2nd place!!

So what is the estimate ... how many minutes, hours, or days will it take ... until this block is mined now at diff 4483.891 ?

Hah, sorry ... I can actually answer my question myself:
http://abe.darkgamex.ch:2751/chain/Anoncoin?count=500&hi=252656

It's has been happening in very regular intervalls, and then each time there was no block for  2-11 hours.

EDIT:
... 120 blocks = 600 ANC ... = more than 2 BTC if he can dump them at the current price. 2 BTC in less than 10 minutes.
Wow, some pool/miner can be getting really rich right now, with that trick. Crypto is a weird world.

Same guys are raping ANC since weeks. They are creating thousands ANC in some hours but devs don't care. Welcome to Anoncoin!

Wow does not look good at all....

its fine, there will be a hard fork with both a better difficulty algorithm, and multiple hashing algorithms (like myriad) I believe

Unfortunately I think this is a while away....not something you can just flick a switch on....development needs to occur and I think the dev team is focusing on zerocoin stuff rather than the foundational aspects of the coin Sad

I think replacing KGW with a better difficulty algorithm would go a long way toward fixing this, as would increasing the hashrate from non-multipools (which is a social problem, not a technological one). Meeh is currently working on the KGW replacement, so it will not be long before there's a fix and hard fork.

Since I'm the only developer that can work on Zerocoin right now (meaning without any learning time), it makes more sense for me to stay working on this so that there's no chance of schedule slippage.

DGW V3 from Darkcoin is really fucking good as far as difficulty adjustments go. You guys should use , unless you absolutely feel like you have to make your own code. The network is getting hammered by 1 pool though, they are dumping as much as they can as soon as the price rises.

this means that currently someone controls nearly all of the hashpower of the network and earns all coins? Here we don't have a 51% attack it's more like a 99% attack where this pool can decide which transactions to include and which to drop?

i mean why should someone invest in this coin when another person earns all the mined coins to dump them when the price is high? as it seems this happend last night at cryptsy. dump from over 300k to 250k. i don't get why this isn't fixed before zerocoin is lunched. otherwise we end up with zerocoin in a few weeks with one person that mined 10 thousand of coins in a few weeks. i think this problem should be fixed as soon as possible.

after all the scams i have seen in crypto world i wouldn't be surprised if the dev owns the mining farm and therefore he has no interest to fix this problem as soon as possible as it would just shrink his earnings.

This current problem is being worked on and has been for at least over a month now.  The solution is to implement either a three or five auxPoW chain myriad.  Rather than take the risks of doing multiple hardforks the dev team has decided to bag all the changes into one hardfork.  Which should be on the testnet for two weeks evaluation by next Wednesday.  A hardfork is a very big change for a cryptocurrency and the less made the better.  Anoncoin has been mined now for over a year and it started off GPU mining.  While hopefully the myriad part of the hardfork will bring back the possibilty of GPU mining.  AFAIK it will definitely implement CPU mining in the form of of either Primes or Cryptonight hashing and possibly even both of those hashing algorithms.

about new logos, i have the beginning of an idea that I just worked (not perfect if you look closely):

https://cdn.anonfiles.com/1412937360868.png

(I think the lock idea was previously explored but I'm not sure what came out finally)

Don't forget that anonymousxx1503 has also suggested an idea here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=227287.msg9145384#msg9145384

Should I start a wiki page with all different drafts so we can choose one at the end?

Looks like the difficulty is settling around 700 ... for anybody's info, i went and hired 32MH from miningrigrentals.com and i would like to think that helped, and i suggest that if more of us do that we might keep the multipool vultures at bay, at least while we are having these growing pains ...  Smiley

Please provide any constructive details on what  you think about the issue and how it can be solved , if you have any. Being arrogant and Calling everyone stupid is not helping anyone. Absolutely no one is getting any benefit from this. I repeat. Absolutely no one is getting any benefit.
1) it seems they use a really old build if what they say i true
2) they are scared due to the massive hashrate spikes
2b) they think its no longer save to trade ANC with those spikes.
3) tx dont get confirmed, normal with such huge diff spikes. it takes time.
4) they failed to handle their own wallet wrt transaction/addresses
5) they use a "anonymizer" with is probably a 3d party tool in combination with ANC (AFAIK there is no such thing? lie?)

how to solve? read the thread, dont be so worried about such hashrate spikes (there hasnt been a 51% attack yet), increase confirmations needed (to "protected" against possible 51% attack), let someone do the work with anoncoind who knows bitcoins internals wrt accounts (in wallets) and transactions.

DGW is very nice

but myriad of algorithms give people with different specialized machines ways to earn

although each algo in the myriad can use DGW Smiley
nope, il press meeh to use the original diff systems and not (re)targeting systems that aim to fix something that isnt fixable. all they do is adding obscurity and bugs.

I hope you don't mean bitcoin-style retargeting after a certain number of blocks, because that would be disastrous.
