Hello folks.
I have a situation here while mining ETH.
One of my cards, RX 580 4gb, can only go up to 4046 (22 MH/s) on daglim. If I set from 4047 and up it crashes after few seconds while auto tuning.

Do I have a problematic card or is it normal? Few weeks ago it was mining at 30 MH/s.

That's zombie mode

Why the zombie mode?
I was asked developer why zombie mode. Well, I found that term fitting. These are cards that are supposed to be dead, yet they continue mining but gradually slower. Like an undead (GPU jargon).

Yes, I know zombie mode. What I'm not getting is why 4046 mb only. Isn't suppose to go close to 4070~4078 mb? I have another card on same PC wich goes well up to 4077 mb daglim.

Hello,

No workaround yet for Nvidia 1070? from 32-33 the speed dropped to 25-26.
I remember years ago when we started with this mining it was an issue for AMD cards but still RX 580 performance is ~ 30-31, way better than Nvidia Sad.

Thanks

Try to set parameter

-eres 1

if will not work, then

-eres 0

It helped for me. Look at my messages before in this thread

I try this, not help me. I have always 29,8MH on gtx 1070, before I have 32MH,

Your case is not my one. And it is because calculating becames more complicated. PM developers said that it is a problem of NVidia cards. A year ago or about that I also had 192Mh on 6 cards. MC was +640, PL was 64%, CC was +102 and it costed 750W.

But beginning from about one year ago (may be less) I have time to time decreasing of hashrate and memory overclocking beginning from some values does not increase hashrate. For example now I use for some cards MC +450, but if I will use +640, nothing will bw changed. Moreover, hashrate can be less then if I use +450. So now I have stable 180Mh on 6 cards. And now I use PL 100%, also for one card CC was decreased to +70 (more bigger values does not increase hashrate). And now 180Mh costs me 1000W.

Problem that I was talk about is that MC changes does nothing at all. So with my current settings of CC and PL I had 127Mh on 6 cards.

When I used "-eres 0" (now I use "-eres 1", which also works good) my hashrate was back to 180Mh and hashrate again depends on MC values.

So we are talking about different problems.

PhoenixMiner 5.4c (release candidate) is ready. You can download PhoenixMiner 5.4c from here (both Windows and Linux versions):

https://mega.nz/folder/DR8ChZCR#vSVph_yXN27g09ge5EqduQ  (MEGA)

If you want to check the integrity of the downloaded file, please use the following hashes (you need the last file PhoenixMiner_NVRTC_Windows.zip only if you want to mine BCI with Nvidia cards under Windows):

The changes in this release (since 5.4b) include the following:

  • Added support for DAG epochs up to 500
  • Fixed crash (or GPUs not detected error) when using the latest Windows Nvidia drivers 460.79 and 460.89
  • Validated support for Nvidia RTX 3090, 3080, 3070, and 3060Ti GPUs. Those still use the current kernels and there are no speed increases from the previous PhoenixMiner release
  • Add support for the older AMD Linux driver 19.50-1011208-ubuntu-18.04 (used by some Linux mining OSes and other software)
  • Added new kernels to allow mining on AMD Hawaii cards (R9 390, etc.) with the current and future DAG epochs (even with DAG buffer above 4GB for the 8GB cards). Note that the AMD Windows drivers do not support compute mode for Hawaii cards, so the hashrate will be quite low (14-15 MH/s with the current ETH DAG epoch). This problem is fixed under Linux, where you can get the full 29-30 MH/s speed out of the Hawaii cards.

The changes of the previous beta (5.4b) since the last version (5.3b) are:

  • New kernels for AMD Vega and Navi GPUs that are slightly faster when the DAG buffer is approaching or passing 4GB in size (the current ETH DAG is close to 4GB). To use these new kernels, you need to use drivers 20.5.1 or later under Win10, or 20.10.x or later under Linux
  • Automatic re-running auto-tune as needed when switching to a different DAG buffer type (e.g. when switching from ETH to ETC, or back)
  • Added support for the latest AMD Windows 10 drivers 20.12.1 and 20.11.3
  • Fixed crash when trying to set -mvddc on very old AMD drivers (including the beta blockchain drivers from 2017)
  • Other small fixes and improvements

Some notes on the best (or at least some of the better) drivers for AMD cards:
  • If you have 6GB or 8GB card that is at least Polaris (i.e. 470/480/570/580, Vega, Radeon VII, Navi), you should run at least driver 20.5.1 under Windows 10, or driver 20.10.x under Linux.
  • If you have 4GB Polaris card (i.e. 470/480/570/580), ideally you should also run drivers 20.5.1 or later. At the very least the drivers should be either 18.12.1.1 to 19.7.5 (inclusive), or 19.12.2 and later. Under Linux, drivers 19.x.x or 20.x.x should be OK for 4GB cards.
  • Avoid using the 20.40.x, and 20.45.x drivers under Linux.

Please let us know if you have any problems or questions related to PhoenixMiner 5.4c

Thanks, OC&UV about 63-65 MH/s fluctuating with PhoenixMiner but with some defect shares. Not so with Nanominer, Lolminer and Gminer.

Nvidia 460 driver is wrong with version 5.3b
It is necessary to keep that of the version Nvidia 456, waiting for a new version of miner.
The miner tells me that it does not recognize the GPU in version 460.

Yes, now I understand, we are talking od different problems. Sorry.

I have rig with gtx 1060 6GB. On this card no droping speed on Claymore 25MH CC+120 MC +590, in PM i have 24MH. This is same tehnology as 1070, but no drop speed. How to explan it?

1.command "-straps" does not apply to nvidia cards p106-100, in the log file shows that the command applied only to cards 1060,1070ti (580 card is disabled from applying this command)
2.AMD card does not apply command "-tmax 70" (it is not critical)
