I got it running. From default settings I just had to change the IPv4 gateway and custom DNS servers the in the Wan settings to match the default gateway shown by my ipconfig. My ip config returned 2 default gateways, the second is the one that got it running.

Thanks to everyone for your help and suggestions.

Here are some screenshots of what I am looking at. Any help is appreciated.
http://imgur.com/a/Dldhr

Heres what you need to use:

Static IP
IPv4 address: 192.168.1.200 (safe bet and easy to remember)
Netmask: 255.255.255.0
Router/Gateway IP: 192.168.1.1
ipv4 broadcast:  LEAVE THIS BLANK
DNS: 8.8.8.8

that should work immediately   1AqY1gMXt5wx6jjvCyveHo1yxj3QrgLiWw

Depending on your router, you have to put an address in the ipv4 broadcast line.

Ok, so I was able to factory restore by following directions on here, but now I am back to my original problem.

I am following the directions in the op, but when I manually input the ip address into IPv4, my computer cannot connect to the internet. I can interface with the antimner without changing my ip settings by navigating to 192.168.1.99, but it is not mining after I input and ave my pool settings.

What's your modems IP address?

Go to the ant miners network config page, make sure the gateway (your modems ip) is correct the primary DNS should also be your modems ip, go to the ant miners network diagnostics page and run both ping and DNS tests, if they work you're antminer is connected to the internet and good to go.

I've been seeing similar issues.

Got the Antminer S1 yesterday - ran it thru setup - thought I had all the config correct - and it just would not connect and start mining.  So I started screwing around with the network settings and at one point I setup the LAN interface and I think I clicked on the bridge option - and lost all connection to the S1.  At that point I figured I had botched it up pretty good - so I tried to reset the machine.  That was another exercise in hair loss and copious swearing as I just couldn't get the thing to reset. Finally I got that to work - and started over.

Finally - after going thru some router settings, opening up some ports - etc - I got the S1 to connect and start mining.

Question though:  The S1 Miner Configuration page has places to enter info for three different pools.  Currently I'm only working thru one pool (Slush) - should I fill in all three places with the info for Slush - or just use the first one?

I was dreading setting these up as I know VERY little about networking.......BUT.......ALOT easier than I imagined  Grin

I have a simple network from what I've seen:

I have 5 PC's on my network,I went to each of them & found out their IP,so when I changed the miners IP I didn't get into trouble.

Then I opened up a browser & typed in 192.168.1.99,BOOM there it is !!!!!!!!!!!!!  I changed the IP to something between 100 & 150 (wrote it on the miner),I have 50 IP's allowed on my router, relogged in via the new IP & there it was!!!!!!!!!

I hooked up my second miner & repeated the process & there it was!!!!!!!!!  Set my pool info & they're mining away!!!!!!!!!

These things are quite...compared to my GPU days  Cheesy

About the only thing I can find fault with.....both miners run @ 400 watts each (@ 178 & 179GH,temps are 45 & 46C  Grin  )...according to my UPS.I kinda planned for it,so not really a disappointment,just a note  Wink

So far so good!!!!!!!! Thanks greaterninja for the upgrade in shipping to include sat delivery!!!!!!!!!!

I am one happy camper!!!!!!!!!!  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Looking forward to another miner via topminingcontracts, aka Mr. G !!!!!!!!!!

P,S. Hope someone can help you shiunsai !!!!!!!!!!!!

you should create account on other pools and fill in info. You want backup pools, because sometimes they get ddos or go down for maintenance.

I'll have to look into doing that. I was wondering whether filling in all three on the same pool gains anything though.  Or conversely - is there any performance to be gained by going thru 2 or 3 different pools?

Hi,

Just testing the wifi and both ants are mining on wifi. But how do I login to the ants while mining on wifi? As I don't have access thru the IP address in my browser. (Network understanding isn't that advanced...but it's coming along).

Many thanks!

Upgraded my Antminer S1 openWRT firmware to the latest from Github... but I see there's also a PIC Hex file.
Do we have to do anything to update that too (and how?) or is that only for custom setups that chain multiple boards?

Bump - no answers to this?

I been asking this before, and BITMAIN say the HEX file is included in the BIN file. the PIC HEX file is used in control board production only.

Thanks!

What, if any, benefits will upgrading the firmware for openWRT be ?

The only change I noticed so far was CGMiner version in the new firmware.

My S1 shipped with CGMiner 3.8.5.
Newest firmware has CGMiner 3.12.0.

IP access should be the same whether they are on wifi or wired.

its normal, the antminer config pool management as failover, that means if the first pool cannot connect, the miner will connect to the second pool...

4 ants shouldn't trip a 110v 15 amp power strip. You might need to get more efficient power supplies if you are tripping the strip, or a different strip.

Oh i know it's the strip, it's not the power supplies.  I need a more powerful power strip.  I'm trying not to grab a monster cable power supply.  But it's looking like i'm just going to have to power up the power strip.

4 ants shouldn't trip a 110v 15 amp power strip. You might need to get more efficient power supplies if you are tripping the strip, or a different strip.

They can. It all depends on the application, and the power strip. If the Ants are drawing 400W at the plug, that's 1600W. If the voltage at the plug is 105V (which is possible with a 15A draw if the run of wire is long enough) you'll be over 15A.

A standard power strip might also not take kindly to being run at or near 15A constantly, and could easily nuisance trip. You should derate it the same way you would a normal circuit breaker.
