Hello, Anyone have tried replacing the fan with any other which are slient than the inbuilt one?
The fan which comes with Ant is extreamly noise.
So i wonder if i can put some silent fans from coolmaster on the both sides.
All suggestion and comments are welcome.

"Silent" fans are mostly a scam, they just spin slower and move less air. That won't keep an ant miner at the recommended temperature; they already automatically control the fan speed.

The best things you do reduce noise are:

1. Relocate the miner where you can't hear it.
2. Reduce ambient temperature.

May I add that you could add another fan on the other side?  Grin

Seconded. I added a CoolerMaster JetFlo 120 as a second fan, an exhaust fan pulling the air through (it's not quite got a high enough CFM to operate on it's own), as a second fan it reduces the sensor reported temps by 3deg.

Most of the above are NTP related.
Have you tried disabling NTP?
Just to see where that gets you.

The damn thing has gone completely lame. both blades dead, the led's on the wrt board are lit but the one under the rj45 connector is dead. Reset has no affect. will try swapping PSU but I fear the WRT board is shit.

Sounds like a connection problem to me.

EDIT: Can you ping google.com from your miner?

Tried a different PSU same problem, blades dead, rj45 jack wouldn't connect. For shits and giggles tried a new cable.. seems to be working but its worked for awhile and crapped out before. will update if it makes it through the nite. Thanks for all the suggestions.

Bro if it powers up and you see lights coming on then it works.
You just need to set it up properly.

Just my opinion...

It's not my cherry, #21 it's just lame. Stuff happens.

Just got a new S1 in the mail today.  It came pre-installed with PCI-e power connectors on the board.  It may no longer be necessary to buy PCI-e cables for these devices.

Did something I say help you out?    BTC - 18oTipf66z8dbwTgRCiPjbdPmqEP7zuCFb

It hasn't been necessary for a while now. Certainly a welcome change over the earlier revisions.

Check all your cables and make sure they are fitted snugly (turn it off first). From the temps on the second board it looks like those chips aren't getting any power at all.

Edit: you can also check for any loose capacitors on the second board, maybe some are broken.

You don't have to have ntp enabled in order for it to hash, just deselect the option and save and apply. I then suggest switching the ant off and on again so it boots up from scratch and that should take care of the problem...

Sometimes saving doesn't work very well and you need to click save and then click on the red text in the top right which brings you to a screen listing the changes... then click save and apply.

Edit: if it hangs on updating cgminer, you can wait for a minute and switch it off and on and the setting should be saved... I suggest switching ntp off first.

He will still need to SSH to it.
And depending on his Ant version there is a slight difference (from v1.4 to v1.5).

If you need help with SSH to disable NTP just let me know Smiley

Thanks for the replies, I've disabled NTP in System Tab and rebooted but still the same error.
Sometimes it has the gcminer error at the end, sometimes multiple of the same cgminer errors, sometimes just the daemon...error.
I will need help with SSH, I don't know it at all.
Thanks again

Thanks everyone with the networking support but not there yet.
I now have the Antminer connected to the router via ethernet, it seems to be online and able to ping.
However I'm still not mining I think the problem is this:

It also hangs at cgminer at the end:

I don't think that's possible... if you want it to stop the beeping, you'll have to switch it off.

Bummer, sorry to hear, I'm sure that is very frustrating. I can't remember the trail to know where your problem started, so I'm just going to ask some questions:
 - Did the miner ever work i.e. has this error always been in the log?
 - Have you changed any of the network settings on the ant?
 - What is the ip address of your router?
 - What is the ip address of your PC?
 - What is the ip address of your ant?

What I would suggest at this point is to do a hard reset by holding down the black button on the controller board. You can download the faq and manual files here: https://github.com/AntMiner/AntGen1/tree/master/manual
Once you have done a reset back to factory settings, check to make sure all the cables are fitted snugly and turn it back on and see if it gives the same error in the log.
If you post a printout of the system and kernel logs it will also help.
Once you're done, fill in the answers to the questions and we'll go from there.

I meant you'll have to switch the miner off... at the wall. I can't imagine why you'd want it running while not hashing.

If you have 2 6-pin pcie connectors, they just plug straight in... no need to butcher any cables, unless you don't have enough 6pin fittings from the psu.

If I had a 1000w that had 6 6+2 pcie connectors, I could power 3? Would just have to supply the plugs and Ethernet?

NO, you can't.
3x 360w = 1080w

You can power two Ants though.

You can stop the beeping by deleting all the miner info in miner configuration and save and apply. Ant will run on standby power.

So a 1200 watt? I heard something about 12 V rail, is it fine to run 3 on a single rail? What PSU do you recommend to run 3 antminers, 2 lower end, or one higher end power supply?
