Arbitrary Messages (or AM) is already functioning but it is not a "chat system" (although something that behaves like one could be written using it and I think one or two projects are being developed to do just that).

Stakeholders, dump. I have nxt but its a good way too raise the value over time. And right now there are buyers.
It's better if all the dumps happen early in the Nxt game. The distribution goes a long way in helping Nxt, and the price will less likely to fall drastically in the future. These are the beginings for a stable economy for Nxt.

Yes. We don't want to miss this opportunity. A stakeholder should give his go for this immediately!
isn;t that what the community funds are for....we don;t need any stakeholders for this....the community just need to give the go ahead. Let's wait for more people to discuss it and in case the decision is unclear vote for it. But we also don't want to dump 1.3M on an exchange and crush the price. Such thing may hurt Nxt more than not buying ad time. the 1.3M is for how many spots? Why would anyone dump Nxt except for speculators? can't we just pay Nxt. They will be happy to receive and hold Nxt.

can't we do 1 main show 1x/week, 30 sec. or 1 min, for 6 months?...what would be the cost for this?
We could maybe go for main show / 1 minute for 3 months (as I suggested). If there was a chance to continue after April, we would record another messages. In 3 months we will know 2nd and maybe also 3rd part of BCNext's plan, so the interview would be much different than what we could record today.

I was just looking at the Ethereum thread, and was wondering: couldn't NXT technically implement what Ethereum is trying to do in a parallel blockchain that allows turing-complete code to execute? IMO Ethereum is interesting, but isn't particularly innovative (not in the way transparent forging is).
A few advantages I see if this is possible within the NXT ecosystem: 1) NXT is already established. No need for massive development of the network, and thus no need for an expensive, over-complicated IPO to get it off the ground. 2) These scripts can interact with other aspects of the NXT ecosystem, which is admittedly much larger in scope than Ethereum will ever be. For example, you can send 0.00001 NXT to "Asset Merchant Rating" script, and you can rate a merchant you had a pleasant/negative experience with, and the program will keep track of it on the parallel blockchain without the bloat that may come if we used AM for this purpose. 3) Take advantage of all the idling CPU power in most nodes. Since NXT client itself does not require much resources to run, perhaps this will give all the miners from PoW-world something to focus on. 4) Provide an increase fees for people willing to participate in the parallel blockchain. People with RPi's can just stick to basic forging, while those running nodes on powerful PC's can additionally use their CPU power to run these programs. 5) NXT has already set the precedent for decentralized development (something I'm rather proud of, and I have to hand it to BCNext, that was a very smart decision), so people making a decentralized effort to create decentralized programs fits the theme rather well.
What's left is to figure out how to integrate a PoW system within a PoS system. But since c-f-b is already working on that, I assume it can be done.

For anyone who's interested, I've updated my draft of the letter to Mark Cuban, replacing the sentence that so offended NxtChg with:
"We believe that if you are confident in the Nxt endeavor, others will follow your lead, thus furthering our goal of widespread adoption."
Sorry, but it is still terrible "furthering"? Is this even a word? Aren't goals "advanced"? And "our goal" sounds like we are just trying to manipulate him (which we kinda do, but no need to draw attention to it ) Again, this is not something we should send until we have a well-tested full-featured client.
Exactly. Let's not get ahead of ourselves. When it comes to actually sending it we will proofread it by a professional service.

yes, joefox would like to have his own Nxt show that would be built on the Let's talk Bitcoin platform. He would talk with Ricky, Pin, me, devs, helpers from all over the world... Then there would be 1 episode of Let's talk Bitcoin about Nxt. Then there is a chance to be for 1 minute in every episode of the main show and present there our features to the audience, to the newbies. There is a lot of demythologisation we need to provide Here is the chance to speak directly to the 10.000 (+) crypto maniacs. Yup, I'm developing a podcast. First episode or two may just be me droning on, but it'll grow. I have a list of "targets" for folks I'd love to interview, so many of you regulars should be expecting to hear from me! Adam and I have traded email, and I'm keeping him posted as it all develops. But this is all separate from the ads on LTB, which I think are an excellent idea. As others have pointed out, the ad spots provide a long-term, consistent messaging platform for Nxt... and since LTB is (for now, at least) a podcast, the ads will stay in archived episodes and be of ongoing use. Working title for the podcast, by the way, is "What's Up Nxt"

Hey, guys and gals, I would be interested in representing NXT at the Texas Bitcoin Conference on March 5-6. I am in the American South not very far away (relatively speaking) and just checked, I can get a round trip jet ticket to Austin for under $300 if I book soon. The conference fee is $275 until the end of January, $325 starting in February. If the devs/community could back me for $1000 (currently around 10K NXT), I volunteer to cover this. I will kick in 20% of my annual vacation time from my day job. I am an aerospace engineer in real life, one thing I know how to do is make concise, organized presentations of complex topics... http://texasbitcoinconference.com
