Funny how cgminer is recommended as a solution to the problem, but isn't in the list of recommended software on the deepbit front page.  Wink

The grue lurks in the darkest places of the earth. Its favorite diet is adventurers, but its insatiable appetite is tempered by its fear of light. No grue has ever been seen by the light of day, and few have survived its fearsome jaws to tell the tale.

Is it planned for DeepBit to support Merged Mining (Bitcoind + Namecoin, like BTC Guild does) in the near future?

They do, they just keep the NMCs.

Anybody else getting no connection?

This is about the 4th time in 4-5 hours that I've had connection problems. They usually last for a few minutes.

Proof?

NMC are basically just a "byproduct" of Bitcoin mining. So every pool without NMC payout keeps them.

LOL...not quite.

They have to implement merged mining in the backend to try shares for the NMC side also.  Every pool does not do this.

Exactly. If you have a good thing going, why break it? In any case, it is easy to see the total hashpower of the Namecoin network, and it suddenly jumped by ~3.5Thash, well then we would know who to start pointing fingers at. But that hasn't happened, so it is obvious that he isn't mining Namecoins in the background.

And one would be an idiot not to mine NMC because it is just so valuable right?!?!?!?

The last time I checked it took something like 250 NMC to equal 1 BTC!  Merged mining is a waste of time and effort!!!!!!

Only an idiot would insist on MM.

Please, stop lying.
Merged Mining is very noticeable, anyone can take a look at the coinbase of our blocks and ensure that we don't do any.

I think it was already answered multiple times in this thread.
No, no plans for Merged Mining in the near future.

According to the "blockchaininfo" page, its still even less than 50% of 50%.
Fun must wait.

Rather than doing this, why not just vote NO ?

This is not a voting. You just put "/P2SH/" in your coinbase if your setup is ready to support BIP16, not if you just WANT to support it.
There is no procedure defined to "vote against it" and there is no point in voting against it anyway. Only supporting blocks are counted.

I don't have any better method to implement multisigs, and even if I had, everyone would be against it anyway.
At least partially this whole situation is caused by crippled scripting language (to be specific - by the fact that some opcodes are disabled).
