They had a hiccup recently with their payment processor (blockchain.info) having problems for a few days.  Aside from that, bitmain's record has been impeccable.  That's why people defend him.

People "justify them" because if you read back through this thread all 4000 entries of it, 90% of it is people complaining about the fact that the web page hasn't updated and they haven't had tracking numbers, everyone telling them that its normal, that thats how Bitmain rolls, then a few days later they post that they recieved their miners and they are sorry they got in a strop and threw their toys out of the pram and that they should have listened to everyone else.

Its understandable to be anxious. Its just par for the course, and there are thousands of people who have purchased many thousands of miners between them that are experienced in the process.

There are only a handful of situations where people didn't get what they wanted, just send polite emails to info@bitmaintech.com and use words like please, thank you, order number, blockchain tracking link, maybe a copy of your order confirmation etc. They do respond sometimes, sometimes they just update the site instead and get on with boxing up and shipping miners.

sorry, protection against what? difficulty jump or maybe in case u change your mind? not even one serious seller will accept paypal. If they do this means they are brainless.

I have problem. I paid 2 miners and 2013/03/23 transactions was confirmed at site. Yesterday paid 1 else and trasaction confirmed. But still there is no emails. My emails withour answer. account name: Pyotr

They are probably closed.

And I never received any email confirmations for my order.
Only data was visible on the website when I log into my account and look at order status.
And that order status did not change for 5 days.

So soon I can see track number before it arrive?

BITMAIN has been the best Manufacturer direct seller of all BTC mining hardware companies I have dealt with.
Add to that that the actual S1 is the most reliable hardware/software BTC mining unit that I own compared to BFL and Avalon clones in my farm.

I would buy more but my power lines and cooling capacities are tapped out. Waiting for in stock lower priced S2's to be available for me to start selling off my current farming units.

I placed order today and at once paid it. Now transaction in confirmation stage. But order marks "Expired" and money was sent. I worry about it.

You should calculate that they will declare the full value for customs, its hit and miss whether they do or not, many are definitely arriving with $500+ value which you will pay 20% VAT plus a £11 handling fee if they come via UPS.

Just doing some research so I can update my own shipping service - Currently when I send an S1 from to China it gets hit with a £28 fee that includes the handle fee.

So currently it costs £111 to pay import tax for UK

So making the true cost of the S1 Inc shipping + tax 1.2276 BTC
