My MN keeps going down on the latest version; I start the daemon on remote but after a bit it goes down.

 ./darkcoind getinfo
error: couldn't connect to server

any hint?

bump. I was updating from .11, cannot keep it on from more than 2minutes.
You may be running out of memory (darkcoind uses more memory these days). VPS Ubuntu instances don't come with swap enabled. Here's a good guide to enable a swap file:
https://www.vultr.com/docs/setup-swap-file-on-linux

Thank you, added it. V 13 now works fine.

 Huh

My servers that are solely Masternodes all use about 160MB on average.  (Thats 160MB total, inc. the OS and the whole shebang, not just darkcoind.)

Which OS do you run?

Ubuntu 14.04 server for all but one that's on 12.04. Not that there's any noticeable difference.

Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

Nice. I wonder how that stacks up to other linux servers. Any reason in particular for running one on 12.04?

DRK comes first if sorted by alphabetical order.

Seriously though, isn't xmr's cryptonote technology better for being anonymous? Or am I mistaken?

diferent approch.
quickly cryptonote once it can be crack or decyfered all the block chain will be clear like clear water.
Also there is a story about a crypto key or certificate you cannot be sure it have been destroy. (This key can decrypt all).
Drk is off block chain.

Bitcointalk's recovery from backup seems to have brought back some ghost posts from a long lost debate.

Nice piece of archeology there.

True. Quantum cryptography will render both Cryptonote and Darkcoin and Bitcoin and every cryptocurrency immediately useless due to failures in hashing algorithms, and double spends would be unpreventable in such a scenario. As the blockchain stores the transaction history in Cryptonote, one could decipher your transaction history as well.

Also there is a story about a crypto key or certificate you cannot be sure it have been destroy. (This key can decrypt all).
False. This is referring to a Zerocash, and Zerocoin, which both use accumulators.

Why don't you go buy yourself a few doughnuts with it instead and find a real fence to sit on while you chew it over.

Directbet adopted DRK way before Core though... ThePatient ... now that is something that will certainly fit your bill. Try it.

If you like losing big, go all in on XMR. Savings everything, you'll be glad you did Smiley
