Ok, so I updated to the latest version of my OSX wallet 0.11.0.13, asked someone to transfer my some DRK but I still haven't received them in my wallet.
It concerns https://chainz.cryptoid.info/drk/tx.dws?cf84a5677bca314ff995d40ef79197823fc0c6e3ee40cedac99f0ee85fca0fcd.htm and has status "not yet redeemed" What is the next step here?  Huh

Anyone knows where to find the peers.dat on OSX Yosemite? I thought I could find it in Library/Application Support/Darkcoin ,but there's no trace of a Darkcoin folder  Huh

Edit: found it via the console.

We have excellent tools for recovering DRK from corrupt wallets .  Try this: https://github.com/darkcoinproject/key_finder

Thanks,  Ed Evan. That's challenging stuff for a tired old geezer like me, but I'll give it a shot.

Latest waller 0.11.0.13, I look in my coins with coin control and the anonymized coins are still there but darksend balance says zero.  How do I get the darksend balance correct?

My various backups either are before the mixing - and therefore useless, or after the corruption occurred - and therefore useless.

do I have to make a new backup of the wallet after mixing? I never did that and did not loose any coins
Yes after mixing there are different new addresses so if you have mixed lets say 20 coins and they are on the different address inside your wallet.dat once you backup the old wallet.dat you will not see your coins mixed, so YES backup your wallet after mixing.

Yes off course, after any significant change on the wallet Make a new backup : mixing, creating new address, encrypt the wallet, etc, etc...

How about that 7k DRK sell on Cryptsy just now?
+ the 10k dump on bitfinex = ~17k

i'm glad otoh got part of his order filled and that the drk have been transferred out of  weak hands.

How do you know it wasn't him?

Back online now from west coast US, as I said before I won't create artificial volume by selling in to my own walls, many thanks for the coins who ever sold there, it will be a day or two before I can get my MN wallets live again and update to v.11.0.13, then I will restart any of my dropped MNs and add a few new ones I expect.

What happened to the rest of the buy walls that I thought were going to stay up for people to sell into if they desired? Just curious.

My posts about this disappeared in the forum outage, basically I gave notice that I would be reducing them so as to lower my risk on the exchanges, they appeared to have done their job at the time as all the trading was occurring well above them, so I left 100 BTC bid at 0.0666 on Cryptsy, plus quite a few bids higher up and some on finex, I forgot how much, quite a bit got sold in to with the issues of the last few days and I was afk traveling so couldn't reinforce the walls and anyway didn't want to risk moving coins even if I could, but there's bids of mine for at least $10,000 left on finex atm.

So far I've been unable to update my wallet and I'm not sure if I'll put a wall back on finex, the price is staying above my floor so it probably isn't really necessary, the wall on Cryptsy I would definitely keep topped up if it got sold in to, there are still approx 500 BTC set aside for this if necessary.

This stuff helped one guy few month ago too  Wink
https://gist.github.com/UdjinM6/07f1feae8b7495c67480

However I would recommend you to sync up to the latest block with fresh new wallet (remove wallet.dat in data folder but make/have a backup first), close your wallet, replace wallet.dat with the latest backup and start wallet again.

EDIT:
1) you can also try to start wallet with -salvagewallet option
2)
....
Edit: Update - the latest backup (Jan 23) looked bloated, about double the size of earlier wallets, which is one reason I went back to earlier versions in debugging attempts. I tried the Jan 23 wallet using version 13 from scratch though (no peers etc) and the client crashed in various ways - never the same twice. Runaways, lockups (not responding), fatal error messages etc. No pattern that I could see although there was sometimes a message to the effect that the wallet could not be used.

My next available backup was Jan 20. It rebuilt fine right up to Jan. 21, at which point the Darksend Denominate amounts were deducted and did not return, leaving only crumbs as the account balance.

Whether or not I get this fixed - have I stumbled on a significant problem - if a DRK wallet gets corrupted or a drive crashes or whatever at about the time of a Darksend mix, might it mean that the mixed coins become unrecoverable? I am used to being able to recover other coins using a grandfather type of backup system and just working backwards until an older backup is good enough to seed a recovery - the only cost is length of time for a rebuild with older versions.

I think one needs a deterministic path for rebuilds in case of wallet loss/corruption but a nondeterministic way of mixing coins for anonymity. Ouch!

Can you please provide debug.log / generated crash reports for this ^^^^? udjinm6@darkcoin.io

Thanks, UdjinM6. That gives me lots of stuff to check out.

As luck would have it, I am already about half-way into a -salvagewallet run. I'll post if it produces anything useful.

I didn't save logs from before (doh, but I was flailing by then) but I can probably replicate the tests in a while.

More when I know more. Thanks again.

Edit: Update - Joy! The -salvagewallet run worked. All the coins are back. No more problems for the moment. Oh, the "bloated" wallet before the salvage was 3768KB and after the run the new wallet is 2800KB - not sure if that is significant.
I'm guessing there is now no need to try to replicate the old errors to generate logs - hope that's OK with you.

Happy Dark camper here.      Wink

Ok, so I updated to the latest version of my OSX wallet 0.11.0.13, asked someone to transfer my some DRK but I still haven't received them in my wallet.

Apparently deleting peers.dat and reindexing doesn't help here. Is there someone who has an idea?
thx

Well at least these 9 DRKs are on the right chain.

Open Tools -> Console
Type getinfo
Verify that blocks number is the same as here http://explorer.darkcoin.io/chain/Darkcoin
If it's not - -reindex again, if it is - type dumpprivkey XtCSVT2DFLMnJNNQaSWEHRK66hRg8qDTUD
If you get some long string in output - you have private key (and control) for coins (DO NOT SHARE IT, KEEP IT SECRET) so coins should be in your balance once you are synced at least at block 208416.
If you get an error - no luck, it's not your address... or your wallet got corrupted... we'll need more info then.

EDIT: "not yet redeemed" - means it wasn't spent by the receiver yet

Blocks number is different (208423) guess because this transaction hasn't arrived in my wallet(?) Darksend balance is 0.
Should I reindex again then? By first deleting peers.dat or not?

Looks like you are on the wrong chain now.
Type in console getblockhash 208423 and compare its output to 0000000000081b93eef2fcac1a1391344699608b12fbd11068450bc12284d99c
If they don't match then you need to reindex again or you might also try to sync using bootstrap method https://github.com/UdjinM6/darkcoin-bootstrap - I just updated it with the latest blockchain data.

You're not caught up (208596 is current) or on a bad chain. Delete peers.dat first and reindex.

I'll try with the bootstrap too, thanks
