Personal opinions aside, one of my major problems with other coin is that they are developing real world applications and markets without a mature and tested coin....this is a recipe for disaster in MO. Putting the horse before the cart. I had a disagreement with Evan in the beginning about this same issue, where I was thinking that we should be developing these real world uses....thankfully Evan is far brighter then I when it comes to this...because he was right...we need to get this shit nailed and hardened before we go prime time. Thanks Evan!
Evan does have a way of blindsiding you with out of nowhere brilliance... And I agree with you about certain other coins - trying to promote in-wallet anonymous markets is somewhat ambitious when you haven't even demonstrated anonymous transactions yet. (For example, naming no names. ) I'm trying to put together a p2p market using a DHT with MN's as keyservers etc. and this shit isn't easy to do... You are? I love you! And thank you, you're helping me feel inspired again. I have to write about this, and just been in a fog lately with all our ideas being snatched up, it was getting me down. But knowing some people are indeed working on this stuff gives me confidence we'll win the race! LOL!!!! Do you really? Super extra. Now. Can you explain in noob coding language what it means? edit: anon market right??? Maybe base the code on OpenBazaar ? https://github.com/OpenBazaar/OpenBazaarAnd maybe ask David Zimbeck what his plans regarding NightTrader / BlackHalo are, is it going to support other coins as well (DarkHalo would sound mighty )? Or will it have an API that you could use and BlackHalo would take care of the double deposit escrows. Unless obviously you will love the challenge and code it all from scratch.

question about testing the windows RC4 wallet 10.12.14 on testnet :
When i'm testing it on 1000 Darkcoins from the test faucet i always end up with an Anonymized amount of 999.00000023 instead of 999.998 (-0.002 for the fees of using the standard 2 rounds of Anonymizing).
Have more ppl testing RC4 on testnet seen this?

You should report what fees you're being charged on testnet. Looks like you may be incurring collateral fees. Are you losing connection?

Since the great May pump, DRK has been in the doldrums I wouldn't exactly call the top 6 market cap positions "the doldrums". I think what you mean is it hasn't been careering past it's all time high and setting new records for alt-coins. But that doesn't mean anything. It has held a high valuation - in fact 4 times its nearest "anon" competitor for an extended period time. That valuation is persisting well beyond the usual lifespan of most "pump-and-dump" coins. Meanwhile none of its close competitors have got anywhere near a threatening marketcap, even at their all time highs. This is a very bullish situation given that the coin is still major work in progress and has tested and retested string support bases since it had its last major pump.

Best to ask here. Include as much detail as you can, and if it is a bug it'll hopefully be fixed by tomorrow.

You should report what fees you're being charged on testnet. Looks like you may be incurring collateral fees. Are you losing connection? Works as designed: His 1000 DRK were anonymized into 23 denominations --> 999.00000023 This is also the largest amount he can get anonymized out of 1000 DRK, as denomination takes at least 1.1 DRK (1 DRK + 0.1 DRK). So his 0.997999977 un-denominated funds are not qualified for further denomination

Are you fanatics worried at all about the somnolescent prices? Since the great May pump, DRK has been in the doldrums. No matter how much innovation or development, the price has been low. At least the nethash is strong but I fear that's primarily because its summer in most of the mining world and people need to live with their GPUs. Once that passes, I wonder how many will switch to other algos like Scrypt-N...
I am by no means an expert, but it looks to me like the price has gone down on fairly low volume. Most DRK users are holding or buying right now, not many people want to sell. I don't think that all of the current sell orders for DRK are even real, they will get pulled. The sell orders are being used to keep the price low so that somebody can continue to accumulate cheap coins. When we do get a real trend reversal, we will go up quite fast imo. Then again, I may totally wrong, I am still quite new to speculating. This is exactly what it smells like right now... I don't think you are wrong...

Will mention yr reply in the post on Darkcointalk.

Can you explain in noob coding language what it means? edit: anon market right??? Maybe base the code on OpenBazaar ? https://github.com/OpenBazaar/OpenBazaarI am indeed now looking at OpenBazaar. Their approach is a bit different to what I had intended, but the more the merrier so I have sent them this email: Hi, I have been looking at this project and wondered if you had considered Darkcoin either instead of or in addition to Bitcoin as a payment option? Bitcoin as you are aware is at best 'pseudononymous,' and is increasingly subject to attempts at regulation. Darkcoin offers genuinely anonymous transactions, has a real and talented developer (Evan Duffield) and a fantastic community at www.darkcointalk.org. Darkcoin's anonymous transactions (Darksend, now Darksend+ with the upcoming RC4 release) are facilitated by a distributed network of Masternodes, currently numbering over 800, which could also easily host anything OpenBazaar needed for a scalable and resilient backbone. Each Masternode is privately owned and administrated, and run on (usually) a rented VPS. The Masternodes are a fantastic resource and I am sure that a great many Masternode ops (probably the vast majority) would be delighted to run whatever you wanted them to – we share the OpenBazaar philosophy of privacy to trade without governmental oversight and coercion. I ask because I am also working on a python p2p distributed marketplace with a view to putting all those Masternode servers to good use, but I am an amateur free-time coder and you guys are far further along than I am! If you were to drop by at darkcointalk.org you would get a very warm welcome and there are lots of folk there far more talented than I who might be useful to your project. Please swing by if you get a minute, I think Darkcoin is a perfect fit for OpenBazaar and I hope you will too. Kind regards,

The sell orders are real, else they wouldnt be there. If a sell order is at the exchange it can be bought, so yes its real. The price hasnt rebounded because aside from small pumps and dumps, the market sentiment is that darkcoin is still overpriced and investors are looking at other investment opportunities. 99.9% of people reading this comment will know that I'm right, but will refute this. Anyway, listen to your gut instincts. I can see that you are concerned about your investment as well you should be. Good Luck.

People put up Buy/Sell walls all the time to manipulate price. I've been practising on a few shitcoins and it works. Sometimes, you get caught out however and people fill your orders... DRK is not an investment, it's a way of life... I've just sent the last of my BTC over to Bitfinex because it will never be this cheap again...

You have no clue how bot-infested markets work I take it? edited for strikethrough... If buying makes sense, then you buy. If it doesnt make sense you don't buy. It's that simple. If someone puts up a wall trying to manipulate the price down, you can buy that wall. I'm just saying in the end market dictates price.

Yidakee/Ghost Player just installed a masternode for me in only 2.5 hours and a lot of that was syncing the blockchain. He answered questions and explained everything with great analogies for a better understanding of the process. Very smooth, I highly recommend! In fact, I'm doing another tomorrow! It was exactly the same for me (did 2 with him and am planning on doing another one) GhostPlayer MN Service Rules !!
