No, I wish to stand outside the restaurant saying that the restaurant and the food are good in general, but can be improved. What is so bad with adding luck per user selectable length of time to the already good selection of statistics? How is that against the interest of pool users? Wouldn't you like it if you could see what the luck was for the past 7 days for example?
I've said this before, but I'll repeat myself. Why does it matter? Luck is luck. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's bad. You have no control over it. If you're considering going to a pool because it has "good luck", make sure you throw salt over your shoulder first. M

You are making a point that luck does not matter, yet the reality shows it does: people use it to feel good about their choices, regardless of being completely random.

I'll be looking into this one and finding a way to add it to the proper shifts. The problem with paying for orphans is that the server used to receive the block payments has to have seen the orphaned block. That isn't guaranteed, though it's highly likely (all mining servers are directly peered with the server used to receive/process the payments). UPDATE: Added to the appropriate shifts.

I am absolutely certain that if the admin was to put a poll on the website along these lines - "Would you like me to add an option where you can check pool luck for any period you want" more than 50% would vote YES. Realistically even more than 75% would vote YES, but it has no negative effect on their mining experience, but quite the opposite - the more statistics there are, the better. People like fancy graphics and stats. It also would have a negligible effect on the performance of the website as the data is already there - it just have to be presented in a different way. So it's a win-win situation.

I am yet to hear a valid reason for why pool luck cannot be verified + pool does not provide luck statistics for a user selectable length of time even if it is in a form of rough data, that can be easily copied into a spreadsheet. It doesn't even have to be extra work for the server. It is already there in the luck graph. A simple table with the values will suffice.
Then, can you not just scrape the page source? series: [{ name: 'Pool Luck', turboThreshold: 100, data: [ [Date.UTC(2013,9,05,01,17),117.8300],[Date.UTC(2013,9,05,01,56),105.3600],[Date.UTC(2013,9,05,02,35),99.2500],[Date.UTC(2013,9,05,03,14),105.4600],[Date.UTC(2013,9,05,03,53),86.7500],[Date.UTC(2013,9,05,04,32),105.4200],[Date.UTC(2013,9,05,05,11),99.1800],[Date.UTC(2013,9,05,05,50),111.6800],[Date.UTC(2013,9,05,06,29),111.7300],[Date.UTC(2013,9,05,07,09),105.4000],[Date.UTC(2013,9,05,07,48),111.6200],[Date.UTC(2013,9,05,08,27),99.1800],[Date.UTC(2013,9,05,09,06),92.8800],[Date.UTC(2013,9,05,09,45),99.1100],[Date.UTC(2013,9,05,10,25),92.8800],[Date.UTC(2013,9,05,11,04),80.4200],[Date.UTC(2013,9,05,11,44),92.8900],[Date.UTC(2013,9,05,12,23),86.5900],[Date.UTC(2013,9,05,13,03),92.7300],[Date.UTC(2013,9,05,13,42),92.7400],[Date.UTC(2013,9,05,14,21),86.5300],[Date.UTC(2013,9,05,15,00),86.5300],[Date.UTC(2013,9,05,15,40),92.7300], . .
Thank you kind sir. That is actually a worthy post. Do you have any idea how to insert specific parts of this code into excel into appropriate columns? I assume that is in some specific format - csv, json? Open the PPLNS page in your favorite browser then view the page source. Copy the luck data into the clipboard then into a text file. I'd then edit the text file and massage the data with a good text editor the following way ... 1) Find ],[ and replace it with ],\n[ (adding a new line between plot points) This will produce a list of the data. You can bring this into excel, use text to columns and massage further.... 2) text to column on [ 3) text to column on ] 4) text to column on ( 5) text to column on ) For the Date/time ... convert 2013,9,05,01,17 to 2013-9-05 1:17 For the date, change the commas with a dash (2013-9-05) The next comma with a space for the time, change the comma with a colon (1:17)

but seeing your homophobic comment I think I expected too much from you.
I didn't take it as a homophobic comment. I took it as a "When you grow hair in funny places, you'll have an interest in the opposite sex" sort of comment. But, hey, maybe as YOU took it as that, there's something you haven't discovered yet. Like the handle on the inside of the closet door?

I for one would not care what the luck was within a certain time period because it has absolutely no indication of future luck. As a miner, my needs are simple:
How many bitcoins have I made. Email me when my miner is down
BTC Guild does that and more. Plus it's up all the time....
My tolerance for Cyper's whine has hit a limit and I've ignored. Thanks for the great pool El!

This. Past results do not indicate future performance. You hear this time after time elsewhere, yet people still do not understand.

From the numbers I've seen floating around, and since not one pool operator would indugle us in the money they make I can only assume they are making from the low end $10000 to the high end to $40000 / monhtly. Still beats most 9-5 jobs out there....and if operator was losing money he wouldn't be around here anymore. Average it out at $20kmonth and the operator is hauling in $240000. Most more then most people I know. A lot more. They are living quite comfortably it seems. Don't let 'em fool ya!
Does it bother you that someone is being successful providing a service in an open market? I'm a little jealous.

I'm glad other people can spot when the pool isn't doing it's job. If no one caught onto this, would this just be buried by time? I guess I'm glad I don't understand the hard technical stuff, cause I'd be looking for holes all the time and would probably be spotting them all the time. I guess it's like taking money from a blind person. Who monitors the monitor? Not doing it's job, but not working %100 I guess.
