LOL.. did you meant Pujara and Rahane? I don't think that the team management has the balls to drop Kohli, even if he doesn't make a 50 plus score for the next three years. One reason why the selectors don't want to mess up with the team composition is due to the fact that the team is performing so well. After Kohli became the captain, India has been winning matches in SENA countries on a regular basis. And now the dependence on Kohli has also been reduced, with Rohit and Rahul scoring most of the runs.

Yes exactly , Kohli is the biggest name in the cricketing world right now in India. Yes he is not performing since some time but no one can even drop him from captaincy. India is doing well in tests under his captaincy and i believe in him that he will make a come back soon.

Given Kohli's dominance with the Indian team, I won't be surprised even if he demands that Sourav Ganguly should step down from the post of president of the BCCI. And this dominance will continue as long as the Indian team performs well. Kohli will have 100% authority over all the important decisions and the BCCI seems to be happy with the status quo. And at this point I don't think that they can antagonize Kohli, because Ganguly-Shah group is facing tough opposition from the Srinivasan-Pawar cabal within the BCCI.

Drop Kohli? Hilarious. Are you actually suggesting dropping one of the biggest names in the Cricket world currently? Realistically, they should drop Pujara at this point since he hasn't recovered his form for a long period.

England is still batting and a few changes and the team woke up and playing as if they are world champions. Jonny Bairstow and Jos Buttler are the only batsman who did not contribute but the rest of the top order performed well and they now have a lead of 338 runs.
I am expecting the match to be over by the 4th day if India try to resist and somehow delay the England win or the weather needs to help India.

It was truly England's day. It was an absolutely superb batting performance by England's batsman, with Joe Root leading the way. The man is pure class and delight. With a first match win, the Indian team was a bit overconfident, then collapsed completely from batting to bowling. There is nothing left to say about this match; it was over on the very first day when Indian line-up collapsed!

See how fantastically England have batted on day 2, I think England have already score enough runs to ensure that they don't have to come in to bat again, even if they bat until the end of the day today, there is absolutely no way that India can even Draw the march forget about winning it for a moment, it looks as if there were different Indian and English teams in the previous match and are absolutely different in this one.

The first two session determines the tone for the next few days and India getting all out for double digits is happening too often, ride the highs and then ride the lows as well  . England put on a century partnership for the opening wicket and there is no way India could make a comeback in this match. I will be surprised if this match goes to the 5th day.

Still two wickets left for the end of England first innings. I think India will be able take those wickets within the first session of day 3. England has already made a huge lead. It's clear that Indian team has no possibility to win this match. But they will try to play slowly and make a good total in their second innings. What the main stream media will be discussing now, now they will be trashing India till the next match. Exactly. The first innings collapse was demoralising for the entire team due to which their bowlers bowled badly. Bumrah was the most economical bowler, but he didn't take a single wicket.

One thing I noticed in this series is England's over-dependency on Root who keeps scoring centuries consistently like a boss. The other batsmen need to perform on a consistent basis if they want to win this series.

On the other hand, majority of the Indian batsmen are out of form too. Kohli's bad form makes matters worse for them. They need to step up if they want to win this series.

This time English team meant only business, guess all criticism worked pretty well for them and why not every bowler chipped in for them, even out of form Sam Curran took the wickets. In the first 2 tests their batting was all Joe Root, who is in his career best form but here their top 4 came back in top notch form.

Atm big defeat looking very clear and odds are against Indian team but in last 8-9 months we have seen some fine comeback from this Indian team be it MCG, Sydney, Gabba or The lords. So Indian fan must be dreaming about 2 daddy hundreds and couple of 100s from the top order and their celebrated middle order Puji, kohli, Rahane. Seems impossible task for out of form middle order but that's a only way they can draw the match and redeem themselves as batting unit.

And given how brittle was the Indian batting lineup in the first innings, I would be really surprised if they manages a score above 200 in the second innings. Anywhere close to 300 would be a miracle, especially with their low and middle order completely out of touch. Everyone is targeting Pujara and Rahane. What about Kohli? The last time he scored a test hundred was in 2019.

Only top order is in form for India and what Anderson did was to get the top order batsmen out in his opening spell itself. And that doomed the Indians. Apart from a occasional 50s and 60s, the Indian middle order is not performing for some time. On top of that, players like Rishabh Pant want to bat in T20 mode and just throw away their wickets. If the Indians want to remain alive in this series, then they need to make some tough decisions. Players who are not performing for a long time, like Pujara and Rahane needs to be dropped.

If England can give a leave of 400 runs, they will no longer have to bat in the second innings. Moreover, the way England put pressure on India in the first innings, India will bat under some pressure. If India cannot get out of this pressure, it will not be possible for them to lose to England except for one innings.

Well looks like India took the insult of 78 runs very seriously and today once again you can see a whole new team batting in front of English bowlers, I don't know if it's about the pitch or what but India has bounced back slightly, at least they are giving signs that they won't give up that easily. Top Order has performed really well, but the problem is for even drawing this match India has to bat at least 120 more overs and make at least 300 more runs to at least give England a target of 200+ and just two sessions to bat. But this is very hard, India has to spend the whole day tomorrow batting in the middle, I still think this match is 90% in England's pocket unless we can do a miracle just like Shami and Bumrah did in the previous match.

This pitch is absolute road so far. I don't know how its going to play for the last 2 days but the bowling and all the stats i'm seeing about movement its pretty clear to me that its a dead pitch. One can argue that its worse than you see in subcontinent, at least you see spinners comes in the picture some time when pitch is dead but here its like you're batting against the bowling machine. Indian batters were shitty with their poor shot of selection in the first inning tbh. Having said that Rohit was looking was looking extremely good in the second inning, bummer for him that umpire's call went against him, which i have noticed in this series. lots of calls went against the Indian team, some of them reversed due to DRS ofc.

I'm only praying for 2 daddy hundreds. Hitman is down so it all comes down to Pujara and Kohli. If by any chance these 2 manage to get big 100s then i won't rule out result in India's favor. Even if they draw the match it will boost their confidence.
