Batting first, Bangladesh collected 209 runs and lost all wickets. Bangladesh expected to win only with a target of 209 runs. An assurance of victory returned to all of Bangladesh when England lost 5 wickets for 103 runs. However, Malan's extraordinary batting performance broke the dream of the hosts. Malan scored an unbeaten 114 runs to win the match. No one could take the lead of Bangladesh like Malan. If two other players including Shanto of Bangladesh could have played better, Bangladesh would have collected more than 250 runs. And England would have been under a lot of pressure to win this match.

Yes it was a close contest and England managed to win this game somehow. Bangladesh Batsmen were not able to collect enough runs, 209 are not enough runs on the board to win the game. Apart from Shanto 58 runs there is no one noticeable contribution from any other batsmen. Bangladeshi bowlers were not able to pick wicket of Dawid Malan otherwise the result would be in there favor.

Today could have been a winning day for Bangladesh if a few cricketers could have scored a few more runs. However, David Malan, the player of the England team, has to be praised. who returned from injury and played a key role to win against the opposition in Bangladesh. Although the team lost 7 wickets, he remained unbeaten. He gave a glorious innings for the England team.

David Malan was the only player who was able to play decently in this match. Apart from him alone, it was a match of bowlers. Both England and Bangladesh bowlers did very well. But I have to say I was disappointed with the batting performance of Bangladesh.

At certain times it really felt like Bangladesh give their wickets away for nothing. Shanto is often trolled for bad performance. Today he had a good chance of proving everyone wrong by getting a century. He was also looking good to get a century. But then he played a really bad shot. Overall, good performance from David Malan, and congratulations to England.

I was actually disappointed with the batting performance of senior Bangladesh cricketers I thought Tamim and Shakib Al Hasan Mahmudullah Hasan Mushfiqur Rahim were there and the pitch was Mirpur home ground.  So seeing the opening game, I thought that the run can take 250 plus.
But after ten overs, the situation completely changed as the run rate per over and the strike rate of the batsmen started to decrease gradually and consistently loosing did not allow Bangladesh to go above 210 runs. Although Nazmul Hossain tried with a calm bat and managed to score 58 runs but his strike rate was only 70. England's batsmen, on the other hand, did a complete team work and David Malan scored a brilliant century. If we talk about the reason behind Bangladesh's loss today, I would say weakness in their batting performance. If you look at the chart below, you will understand the reason for their loss.

Based on the target the performance from the players will vary. From the beginning of the match the team will make plans accordingly. If I'm not wrong there will be increased pressure, but the runrate will differ and surely the batting team will go for big shots that can bring score as well as loss wickets. Even with 209 runs Bangladesh have given their best, and with the form David Malan would reach any big target.

From my personal analysis, Bangladesh's Afif Hossain has been in very poor form for quite some time and if he could be replaced by someone else, the batting line would be quite strong for Bangladesh. Moreover, the bowling lines are fine, Bangladesh should arrange the squad with more spinners on the pitch.
Looking at the batting of Taijul Islam and Taskin Ahmed, it seemed that if David Malan could have batted in a defensive mood tomorrow, Bangladesh could have given a target of more than 250 runs without going all out. But due to the failure of the top order batsmen, they were bowled out for 209 runs and were forced to lose the match.

Taskin has now become a much better bowler than Mustafiz. Mustafiz may have to leave the team soon if he can't change his performance.

If Mushfiqur Rahim holds one side and Najmul Hossain Shanto can plays according to the current strike rate then the partnership will be big one.
