I just don't like the fact that they are very dependent on JMF. I'm an SMB fan for a long time and criticizing them isn't a wrong idea. Depending too much on JMF is like LeBron on Cavs where he is carrying the whole team. I think that they need to adjust at least regarding this that they don't rely too much on JMF.
Not possible now for SMB to compete strongly in All-Filipino if no JuneMar Fajardo. If you remember when Alaska and SMB met in the Finals where the first able to take the 3-0 lead, that was an SMB without Fajardo as he was injured in the semis. When Fajardo back, they come back from a 0-3 deficit and won a championship. That was an SMB that still has prime players. Today, SMB prime players are now veteran and aging. CJ Perez is still not ripe to carry the team. I guess it was already announced that Fajardo will be coming back this season, it's just that he might not play at the opening or in the early part as he is still not 100%, but he will come back. SMB will still be the favorite with him, without him, then that would be another story. For me, Ginebra so far has the best roster in terms of All-Filipino. Second, is TNT and third is Meralco. Agree with this, but TNT and Meralco, I guess even without Fajardo, SMB could still match them.

On papers, Ginebra is second to SMB who have the best roster in the PBA at the moment but what makes Ginebra a very strong contender to the championship in the All-Filipino Cup is their coach. Coach Tim Cone is a very brilliant coach and he knows very well how to use properly the strength of his players. With the addition of CStand to their line-up, Ginebra's chance of getting the AFC trophy gone up even with Fajardo's comeback with SMB. If only coach Tim Cone have taken the job of Austria, SMB might have two grand slams with this current roster.

Yeah I still remember that and that one will be written in history as the first team to overcome a 0-3 deficit to win a championship. Even NBA can't make that thing to happen. That is the effect of JMF. He can carry the team when he is healthy but when he is out, it looks like the team is an average ranked team. We know that their star players are aging already that is why they are slowly acquiring some young and talented players to be the new face of the team. Perez and Romeo will be the 2 of them and more in the future. I agree with Ginebra being the best roster right now All-Filipino. Just imagine how strong they are even without CStand and now that they got him, how can other teams defeat them . Maybe if they have a bad night only then that is the time that they lose. Also add their very expert coach in Tim Cone. They are a strong team right now and maybe, only maybe that they can do what SMB did on All-Filipino Cup too (6 straight All-Filipino Championship) .

I have to agree on this one Ginebra already prove a lot but we have to accept the competition is getting better and i have rooting for SMB for this season even without Fajardo because they also have a great player so my three team would be Ginebra, SMB and Meralco, can't wait for the upcoming bubble season.

If only coach Tim Cone have taken the job of Austria, SMB might have two grand slams with this current roster.
I remember the talks before that whoever coaches the SMB will win the championship no matter what as long as JuneMar Fajardo is on the lineup. A big slap for Coach Austria's long tenure as a head coach but if we will look deeper, Coach Austria did a great job to blend the chemistry of his players. It's difficult to handle several good role players at the same time and how he will allocate playing time at those. Maybe during his early period as an SMB head coach, he's doing some adjustment but today, it's no secret that his players are respecting him as a good coach as they are together thru ups and down.

SMB is always one of the contenders for the finals and there's no doubt that this season, they can be part of it again. Just a trivia, do you know guys that Junemar likes to play Dota 2?

I remember the talks before that whoever coaches the SMB will win the championship no matter what as long as JuneMar Fajardo is on the lineup. Yup, I also remember that and many have coached SMB before coach Austria but they failed to impressed the management as they have not or won only one championship. Ato Agustin, Coach Racela and coach Gee Abanilla have not fully utilized Junemar's talent. It is only coach Austria who saw the potentials of the young JMF as he was the latter's coach during his sting in the ABL. A big slap for Coach Austria's long tenure as a head coach but if we will look deeper, Coach Austria did a great job to blend the chemistry of his players. It's difficult to handle several good role players at the same time and how he will allocate playing time at those. There's no argument that coach Austria really did a very good job on towing SMB to a record 6 consecutive AFC title and we have to give credit for that but i'm also imagining what if it is coach Tim Cone that handle the career of Junemar. I remember him saying that he love to coach JMF and even introduced the gentle giant to the Dallas Mavs scout to see if he have the potential to play in the NBA. Like i've said, one or two grand slams for SMB if coach Tim did the coaching job of SMB, just my thought .

AFAIR, he handles, Alaska, Magnolia and now Ginebra, he won a championship in that teams.

PBA reminds everyone to follow safety protocols in bid to finally launch seasonTHE PBA has launched a social media campaign called #PBAItuloyAngLaban in an effort to help the government in its fight against COVID-19.
Commissioner Willie Marcial said the campaign aims to create awareness that the fight against COVID-19 is not yet over and encourage the public to practice safety protocols to prevent the spread of the virus in the country.
“Inilunsad natin ang #PBAItuloyAngLaban upang bigyan diin ang kahalagahan ng pagsunod nating lahat sa mga safety protocols na ipinatutupad ng gobyerno. Ito lang ang paraan upang mapababa natin ang pagkalat ng coronavirus,” said Marcial. It's very important as one mistake could result to the stoppage of the season, we are in pandemic now and we want the PBA to launch, that's why players should be responsible here and think of the league rather than their personal interest. There's not specific date yet, but I believe it will be soon.

Yes, no specific date yet but the way the development is going, it looks like it could happen anytime soon, if not this month it will probably be next month. They are working on it, we can expect a positive result from their effort. The first step, get a go signal from IATF, then everything will follow.

After that go signal that they are really working on, next news might be the finalization of the date. So far we are all waiting for the this approval, might be next month or if they'll get it earlier this month might also possible to push it and announce the earliest that they can, but in the positive side they are working on it making sure that they'll really want to make it happen. Better than nothing, unless you'll okay with other league that have controversial issues..

Remember those days with Alaska's triangle offense then after that shifting to B-meg and bring another grandslam to his portfolio. We can all say that JMF is one a kind talent, a gentle soft giant who can do move around and take a good shots, simplicity of his game made him more interesting to watch, the fact that Coach Leo manage him approriately also give credit to his coaching skills. But I also agree, Maybe if Coach Tim mentor JMF with the full cast players behind him, maybe another grand-slam is now being added to his coaching career.

At least we started early this year, not bad at all as we might witness two conferences which are better than the previous year. Just be patient, I'm sure PBA is doing everything to start the season.

so my three team would be Ginebra, SMB and Meralco, can't wait for the upcoming bubble season.
Actually, based on my own rankings, Phoenix should be on my 3rd but Calvin Abueva was already traded even they already offered a max contract to him. Some say it was because of the financial capability of the company so they need to let go some of their high-paid players. Phoenix FuelMasters was one of the top performers in the bubble last year, climbs up to standings surprisingly, and I think they can handle well those top SMC and MVP teams. But without Abueva, that was hard to do.

There's a lot of new teams this season, I'm really excited if those trades and acquisition did really help a team, and see on what team is successful.

Rumors had it the Magnolia is interested of Wrights service and they are planning to let go of Paul Lee and Jalalon. Hope these are all just rumors and Wright will remain with Phoenix.

I guess they have to stay at the current line up, observe first if they will have an improvement now that they already have Calvin Abueva.

Sometimes, a rumor becomes a reality . I still remember when there are rumors spreading regarding CStan-Greg trade and one year after, it happen . I'm just thinking of this rumor and if Magnolia will manage to get Wright then they will be a better team (Barroca, Wright, Abueva, Corpuz, Sangalang or Reavis at Center as their starting 5). They got Abueva and now they will get Wright (if this will happen). I'm thinking that he demanded for a trade because they traded Abueva which is a good addition to the team.
