After those nazis and other kooks came to power most officers and men of any real military use soon disappeared. I guess they weren´t too excited about fighting for that pile of dung or killing their own countrymen. So, replacements were sent for "training" by people in the west that have a very solid record of leaving total basket cases in the wake of their fraudulent warfare. And every military force they have "trained" in these basket cases is totally useless. Therefore it goes without saying that these freshly "trained" officers and their awfully led troops were sitting ducks and fresh meat for the real soldiers that got them trapped in the cauldron.

TIME TO LAUGH  So I guess from now on, the Ukies won't shout anymore that the "Russians are coming" because that would only betray the fact they are losing badly. Like now. Now they are being decimated again in Debaltcevo. And if not for the innocent "cannon fodders", as always, this is turning out to be another Ukie comedy, very funny indeed. I want to briefly explain to the Ukrainian colleagues, what is the modern Russian army, and what would happen, if it would come to visit them in reality, and not in their wet dreams.
Firstly, today we use digital radio communication with local encryption. You can intercept it, but you cannot decipher it. The code changes in 50 minutes, an hour, an hour and twenty-two minutes - on arbitrary unpredictable schedule. Ukrainian military and the armed forces of Novorossia are using an old analog model, which you can listen to. And the Russian army now has communications which was previously only on secure communication lines, - you can only hear the crackling and a characteristic murmur.
Secondly, if the Russian army appears in front of UAF, it will be easy to determine.

Fourth - it is impossible to use a drone and low-flying aircraft. Their on board electronics will fail. This is system "Y". Then there is a complex "Avtobaza", which can forcibly land a drone.
What will happen next? Dozens (hundreds, if necessary) of the latest combat helicopters, flying over all the roads, start hunting for single armored vehicles, trains, cars. Railroad is paralyzed, bridges blown up. The lights go out on the home front - electric stations are out of service. Civil and military headquarters on the home front and separate leaders simultaneously are liquidated by the recon-subversive groups.
This is roughly how the Russian army would conduct military operations today. Therefore, the wet dreams about the "hero-cyborgs", spitting flame on hundreds of Russian tanks, are better left to science fiction writers."

I guess realization is setting in... desperation is just around the corner...

One thing I find curious about this war is how when the West whines about Putin in the media, one point they keep coming back to is Crimea, and how it's annexation needs to be reversed.
Isn't it telling that these crazed pro EU/NATO/USA fanatics are either a) so uninformed or b) so cruel - that they would wish the people of Crimea be subjected to the death and destruction and civil war like the people in Donetsk etc. I mean, their argumentation was excusable at first maybe, but how many people have to be slaughtered before the chicken hawks stop insisting that the Crimean population be offered up as some sort of sick sacrifice as well?
Should be pretty obvious that Crimea dodged a bullet, and made the right choice!

The Kiev junta is still holding the Debaltsevo pocket. Militia captured Uglegorsk, and that further narrows the tiny strip which connects the pocket to the main Kiev territory. However, the militia seems to be lacking enough manpower to storm Debaltsevo.
