These are the games taking place on Saturday 13th May:

Leeds United vs Newcastle United
Aston Villa vs Tottenham Hotspur
Chelsea vs Nottingham Forest
Crystal Palace vs Bournemouth
Manchester United vs Wolverhampton Wanderers
Southampton vs Fulham

Leeds United and Nottingham Forest play their games on Saturday whereas Everton play on Sunday and then Leicester City play on Monday. It is going to be hectic this weekend but exciting too as the race to avoid relegation steps up another gear.

edit: According to the odds Leicester City and Leeds United are favourites to join Southampton as the three teams to be relegated but Manchester City will face Everton on Sunday and you would expect a big chance (on paper at least) Everton will lose which means both Leicester City and Leeds United can leapfrog Everton in the table. Leicester City odd is 1.45, Leeds is 1.40,  Nottm Forst 2.75, Everton 4

It has been a difficult time for Leicester City, they have sold almost half of the team that won the league in 2016 without proper replacement, they have been a selling club since they won the league and it is difficult to compete this way, they could not keep the team together, no replacement for Vardy who is almost out of shape due to age, lost their best young defender Fofana to Chelsea at the start of the season without replacement to0, Leicester City's downfall is more on the management.

Would we be surprised if Nottingham Forest went to Stamford Bridge and brought back either a point or all three? This part of the football season is far more exciting at the foot of the table than it is at the top

Aston Villa are performing much different thanks to Emery's management style. He has helped his team rise in the standings a lot and now they are even in a race to qualify for a European cup. They are only 3 points behind Tottenham at the moment. Things have been much more positive for Aston Villa side compared to their opponent recently. Aston Villa won their last 5 home matches while Tottenham were losing points in their last 6 away matches. Apart from that Aston Villa were really impressive in their last head-to-head here as well.

All these indicators are saying that Aston Villa are one step ahead in this match. Bookies also think the same as it seems because Aston Villa are the favourite side. I don't know about a win but I don't think they will lose this.

No matter what the score when the game ends, this will be a good game to watch. As you said, both teams will be trying hard as they fight to keep their own ambitions alive. One team fighting for a Champions League spot and the other fighting to avoid relegation

New manager bounce? It may happen, the pressure is on Big Sam to save the team from relegation, and the game against Newcastle is a must-win. Newcastle should be concerned about Big Sam, he is a relegation specialist, so let's see whether he can survive Leeds.

We played better against Bournemouth last week, and I'd be disappointed if we didn't replicate that performance against Nottingham Forest tomorrow. However, I don't rule out Nottingham Forest taking a point or all three against us; we're still under Lampard, and 1 win in the last 5 games doesn't make us any better.

Sam Allardyce could be the one to help Leeds United out the quagmire they find themselves in. They are a club that has history and potential and they could be challenging for a top 8 spot regularly if they find stability. If Allardyce guides them out of the relegation zone and to safety he will do well will the players next season in the Premier League but I think if Leeds get relegated he should guide back to the Premier League the following season if he chose to stay as manager.

Burnley is currently playing well under Kompany; I watched them play Man City in the cup game, and I must say they were really good at keeping possession and making dangerous attacking moves. That being said, they need to spend to bring in some experienced players, as they lost a lot of them when they got relegated. If the likes of Brighton can survive when no one expected them, I'm sure Burnley with much premier league experience would not want to back to the championship at least not next season.

I can't hold Big Sam responsible for Westbrom's relegation because the team was terrible and difficult to manage.

I think he would have made an excellent England manager but unfortunately he was sacked after one game. He did well throughout his career on strict budgets therefore he could be the person to guide Leeds to safety but the problem for him is two of these four teams will join Southampton as relegated: Leeds United, Nottingham Forest, Everton and Leicester City

These were the results from the games played yesterday:

Both Leeds United and Nottingham Forest are playing for Premier League survival therefore I am not surprised Newcastle and Chelsea could not win against them. Manchester United

Crystal Palace have W3 L2 D1 in their previous six games and have survived in the Premier League again after Roy Hodgson was asked to take over after Vieira was sacked because they had gone 12 games without a win.

Just look at the league table as it stands before the games that place today, Everton host Manchester City at 2pm then Arsenal host Brighton at 4.30pm. it is looking like a great finish to end of the season.

If Liverpool win tomorrow they push for a Champions League place and place pressure on both Newcastle United and Manchester United to win their remaining games but if Leicester City win they climb out of the relegation zone.

At Stake.  It was a tad higher than that at the start or the week but the sharps got in to it and got it lower than 1.94 forcing the books giving it a little juice.

Anyway...  Poch is back!  I'm pretty excited for Chelsea now.  Huge change is coming for the club as per his contract, Poch has full control of the club as Chelsea manager.  From the academy to the senior squad.  A real gaffer!

Edit:  And the summer transfer window should be fun for Chelsea supporters.

What a disappointing result by Arsenal today!

I was so confident about Arsenal's winning over Brighton by even a comfortable score. Because Brighton got a really embarrassing defeat against Everton a week before so I thought they would need some time to pull themselves together. But they did it very quickly as it seems. Somehow they got a 3-0 win in Emirates while Arsenal were fighting for the title. Of course Arsenal's job against Manchester City were really difficult but this result just consolidated Manchester City's lead even more.

But still I appreciate Arsenal's great effort in general this season. This is still an impressive success by them.

Arsenal 0-3 Brighton and Hove Albion

Who would have thought Arsenal would lose at home 3-0 and simply surrender their hopes of winning the Premier League after Manchester City won 0-3 away at Everton. Manchester City should be crowned champions on 20th May 2023 because if Arsenal do not win against Nottingham Forest they have effectively sealed a second place finish.

Today was an amazing day for Liverpool. They played away against Leicester which were on the brink of relegating from the league. This made me doubt a little about the probable result but I still had faith in Liverpool. Liverpool really dominated the whole match and got that deserved 3-0 win. This was another crucial win for the Reds on the road going to top 4 but their job won't be easy anyway.

Curtis Jones shined in this match by scoring 2 goals. He hasn't played in most of the matches actually but there was still a big contribution by him here. Salah was of course the star of the night with 3 assists.    This is just the time he needs to contribute with all he has got to carry Liverpool to the Champions League.

If the mathematics are correct, Manchester City will be crowned champions unless Arsenal win at Nottingham Forest. Even though Liverpool find themselves in a mini-revival it would not be impossible for Aston Villa to spoil the party therefore Manchester United and Newcastle United may not have to do too much to ensure they finish 3rd and 4th at the end of the season and with that play Champions League football in the 2023/24 season.

 ^  Meh..  All the 'mathematically stuff' the football journos like to throw out there is just an attempt to keep our attention and get us still interested in the season.  It's pretty clear that City has it in the bag.  The books prolly have City to win the league lined at 1.10 or something...  Maybe less.

The more exciting question is if Guardiola could win City a treble.  In the EPL era, only Man United has ever done it.
