This is what it is all about managing a Premier League team. Top managers have excellent man-management skills, they know how to get the best from their players by making them believe in his vision for the club. If he does not get sold pre-season and Pochettino allows Ziyech an opportunity to play he has to take it and impress otherwise he could be sold in the winter transfer window.

When Cristiano Ronaldo joined the Saudi Pro League we did not think it would open the floodgates so quickly for Premier League famous names to go there too. Ziyech for £8 million would have been a bargain as long as his knee was not bad but if they are saying he failed the medical he probably did. Now Mahrez is having a medical and soon could be unveiled as another famous player joining the Saudi Pro League.

Sincerely I wish he is given another chance next season under Poch he still got some quality in him.

Yup and why would Chelsea sell him for just for 8m GBP in the first place if the club's doctors didn't see anything wrong with him?  I mean I get it, Chelsea needs to dispose around half of their over manned team asap but I don't think they'd sell somebody who's prolly worth, let's say, 20m for just 8m.  :/

Here's match day 1...

https://www.flashscore.com/football/england/premier-league/fixtures/

First match of the season, the master vs the learner.  Grin  Guardiola vs Kompany.  Rooting for Burnley on this one.  They had a great season in the Championship.  Hope to see them survive their first season in back the EPL.

@tokeweed first and foremost they want to raise money for other signings and secondly keeping a player who’s not going to be used makes no sense hence Chelsea are trying to sell him. Also you really expect Burnley to defeat Manchester City then you’ll be surely disappointed because I sincerely doubt that City will lose that to their first game of the season.

I thought the £8 million offer made by the Saudi Pro League team for Ziyech was far too low because even mediocre players going to that league are being sold for millions of USD$ more than they are worth. Chelsea paid £33.3 million just three years ago to buy him now they face a substantial loss.

At the end of the season I have no doubt Burnley will be fighting a relegation battle. Many better teams have been promoted to the Premier League and then have been related immediately.

Having said that, Burnley host the game and therefore it is Manchester City what will travel there with a squad that no longer has several key players. Gündogan, Cancelo, Mahrez have been sold and Walker seems to be heading for Bayern Munich. They still have all the quality to win the game but I suspect they will not win the Premier League because they will become complacent after winning the treble.

Burnley will give 100% to win the game and just might upset the Premier League champions.

The club doesn't care about the transfer fees; we just want him off our payroll at this point since he has an attitude problem and is one of the snakes left in our locker room. According to the medical report, he has a baby kneel, and the club decided to reduce his proposed salary by 40%, which he declined. We're trapped with him at this point, and the club is considering terminating his contract.

I'm just saying, if Ziyech is totally healthy and could still give the same performances as he did when he first came in to Chelsea then the club wouldn't have priced him at such a low discount.  It would be bad piece of business.  But since he prolly has a nagging injury and 'maybe' less than what the player he was...  Hence the low price tag.  That's all I'm saying.

And nope, never said I expect Burnley to win vs Man City at the season opener.  I said I'm rooting for them.  :/

Wups...  Prolly another reason for the low price tag.  Poch is cleaning the house.  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Man City won in a friendly match with Bayern Munich. Man City won 2-1. This match has just finished and was held at the Japan National Stadium, Tokyo, Japan.  As usual City dominated possession. It looks like Pep and Tuchel are trying their best players. After the break, both coaches equally replaced all players except Ederson and Bernardo Silva for Man City.

Since Manchester City has won all of their preseason games and their on-field performance appears to be consistent with how the team performs, I don't believe they can be defeated in any way. To be honest, Pep is a very good coach because even when players leave the team, the team can still perform well. This shows that the team's performance didn't decline, and it also demonstrates that Pep is a coach who never gives up. Although I am unable to anticipate their upcoming games, the team's success has led me to assume that they will be able to capture more league titles in the coming year.

Even when some of the team's great players are absent from the lineup once more, Manchester City players continue to perform like demons on the pitch and have won roughly three titles. Because of how they defeated Bayern Munich in the preseason match and the fact that their performance is still as usual, I believe Manchester City can still perform like a demon in order to win exactly and win more champion league. This makes me feel like I should start supporting the team because I really enjoy their performances and the way they used to take everything very seriously.

Manchester City has just one more pre-season match against Athletico Madrid, and we need to pay attention to whether one of the big teams from Lalgia is able to beat Pep's team in this pre-season pre-match.
I'm not really sure that Manchester City can't be beaten, don't talk nonsense, although I know that Pep is indeed a very great coach who won three trophies at once last season, that doesn't mean that next season he will get the same victory, in the pattern, Manchester City will definitely will also lose a few matches.

If you look at the matches, it is indeed quite stable from the performance of the players brought by Manchester City, to be honest, it is very difficult for me if you measure it from friendly matches or pre-season, because it doesn't matter in the process, we need to really look at the real competition in the next season to decide how strong they will be next season.

Wups...  Prolly another reason for the low price tag.  Poch is cleaning the house.  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Yes, there are a lot of deadwoods and less ambitious players; we need younger players with a winning attitude; most of the players we had were once champions with numerous trophies to their names, so they got bored of winning and were less ambitious. Manchester City is doing the same thing, getting rid of past champions and bringing in players who want to win. Poch has a long journey ahead of him, but will he make it? I think

It has got the attention of millions of people of course. It is a joke maybe but there is a sad truth in it for Chelsea as well. They were really horrible last season and something really needs to change significantly. Pochettino has come and there are players coming and going recently. There is no guarantee for anything maybe but it would be nice to see Chelsea fighting for the positions they should be this season.

Even though Manchester City is still the strongest contender, I think Arsenal will be the team that will push them the hardest.

I don't think the team to fight Man City for the league will be Arsenal. My bet is on Liverpool. Liverpool have done very good business this summer and they are not yet done. They ended the season in a very fine form and I think they will pick up that form from where they left off. That will be the difference better the coming season and last season. Last season, Liverpool started very badly. They lost so many mwntchs and that made them drop down on the league table, but it would be different next season. Klopp has identified the things he lacked last season and he's filling those holes up little by little.
MacAllister is a very good midfielder and he's part of the missing link of Liverpool. Klopp need a player that can connect the defense to the attack and MacAllister is that man.
I look forward to seeing the title race between Manchester City and Liverpool next season because it would be an interesting one.

That scumbag club won our U21 boys back home and acted like they won the main team, who are currently in the United States preparing for tonight's game against Newcastle. I'm sure the admin didn't stay his job after that insulting tweet.

Well, it is pre-season and these are friendlies (even of there is a combative edge somewhere in the games) and anything can happen. They rotate players with too many substitutes that is the only way the manager can see what his team are capable of performing pre-season. I am sure Pochettino is not worried about the loss but Aldershot should be allowed to celebrate their moment  Grin

In the first instance, why should he be concerned? He is the manager of the senior team, not the Academy team that Aldershot won. We played well last night, but I believe we still have some weak links in the team. We need a natural DM to help Enzo out in the attacking role.

€90m rejected for Caicedo today! Isn't this crazy? They're trying to milk us at this point.

Though Pouchettino might not have top European trophies his name but I think his presence would have an impact to the Chelsea team because he's has good coaching mentality and have had experience in England while coaching Tottenham before leaving, he's a coach that knows how to bring out the best in young players and gives them opportunities to showcase their talent and with the Chelsea team filled with a good number of young talented player would mean alot to their team

Man I'm not concerned about Poch; I'm concerned about our transfer activity and the kind of players we have; we have talent, but in the Premier League, talent is never enough; we need more experienced players; and we've been very slow in our negotiations since the window opened. Poch has to be supported in the same manner that Potter and Lampard were. We can't compete with this squad.

We are not Tottenham, and managing Chelsea comes with a lot of pressure.

Brighton are adamant they will not sell for less than £100 million, which to honest is ridiculous for a player that has that much potential but has not fully proven himself yet. Mac Allister was an important factor for both Brighton and the Argentinian national side therefore the £35 million Liverpool paid truly was a bargain. I cannot understand why Brighton and trying to stall for more money when they could lose the deal altogether.

I think Brighton are overpricing Caicedo as well. 100m pounds for him, really? After seeing Rice's being transferred for around the same sum of money some teams must have affected by that too much. As Chelsea are a very rich club now Brighton want to push their luck to the end.

However I don't know if Chelsea would still be keen on signing him. Isn't there any alternative to Caicedo who can be more reasonable to be signed in this situation? Chelsea still have some more players to sign after they lost so many from their squad this summer. Hence I don't know if they would like to meet Brighton's asking price now.

First of all, if a manager such as Pochettino decides he wants a player for his team because he fits in to his ethos then that alone is a massive compliment but when the club currently owning the player decides to use that against them in order to try to get more money then they are taking a risk especially as the manager can refuse to get in to any negotiations.

I can understand there is a need for clubs to hold out for a higher price before any of the transfer windows close (summer or winter) but overpricing players have one serious outcome and that is the chasing club will go elsewhere to find a replacement.

Caicedo is the last piece of the puzzle we need in the midfield to unlock Enzo, the last natural DM we had was Matic and we haven't been able to replace him, Kante was more of a varsitile player and played most of the time up front, we needed a sit and pass DM and Caicedo is that man.

We have no alternative but to pay Brighton or walk away unless Caidedo submits a transfer request because he was assured he could go this season but they are making that impossible for him.

@JollyGood Poch knows exactly what he wants and how he wants this Chelsea side to play and he has already answered one big problem i.e. how big the current squad is hence I believe that he’ll yet make more changes before the transfer window ends. Also I would actually be happy if Chelsea walks away from this deal because deal’s like these set a bad precedent and it’s high time that big clubs stop being held to a ransom over a player they want.
