It very well could be a requirement of the secret agreements which governments are forced to sign with the pharma companies in order to 'receive the lifesaving drugs they need'.  I'm not even joking.

Come to think of it, depending on how thorough the attorneys have been, shooting up dead people might be a 'out' for governments to comply with their secret obligations to Big Pharma when people find out the degree to which they've been sold out and start to revolt.

There are many challenges to overcome with the gene therapy re-tooled as a 'vacccine'.

The second, and more pertinent to the last few posts here, the human immune system recognizes when a cell starts to to crazy and starts pumping out bad shit (sprouting spike proteins, etc.)  Cells are going haywire all the time (read, cancer) and a big part of the immune system's task is to take them out.

Pretty much the universal theory of operation of these gene-therapy-cum-vaccines is to program the cell to pump out 'bad shit'.

Imperial Colleges' self-amplifying RNA effort had a problem so they did what they could to degrade the natural immune system from killing off mis-behaving cells (via interferons as one defense mode for which part of the MERS genome just happened to work great.)  It doesn't take a rocket scientist to wonder if maybe that isn't such a good idea.  This 'vaccine' was shelved, but the problem is likely to be somewhat universal to all of these products, and possibly the solution as well.
