Ademola Lookman, Victor Boniface, and Brahim Diaz are three amazing players. They've all helped their teams win in different ways, so they're all up for Men's Player of the Year.

But Victor Boniface really stands out. He helped Bayer Leverkusen win the Bundesliga title early. He also scored a big goal against West Ham United in the Europa League.

So, I think Victor Boniface should win Men's Player of the Year. But I wish all three players Ademola Lookman, Victor Boniface, and Brahim Diaz good luck.

LookMan deserve the award more than the other two candidates and it's very visible. It was a miracle for Victor Boniface to survive the accident with minor injuries. According to Xabi Alonso, the player is doing well, but he will not feature in the Champions League game with Brest because he needs to heal from the minor injuries and the shock he went through. He will be replaced by Francis Onyeka, and we all hope that he will be back very soon to continue scoring goals.

This is really a miracle indeed because when one looks at the accident scene, one would conclude that who ever was involved in such has a probability of coming out fully complete but Thank God he made it out alive and complete. I am happy he is doing perfectly fine although it would take a little time for him to join the team because he would need to get himself first before thinking of playing as such experience is very traumatic. Don't you think the votes will be shared between Boniface and Lookman giving a winning chance to Brahim Diaz. This award is given by votes and when it comes to that, sentiments are always involved whether we like it or not.

Brahim Diaz can get the support of representative in the voting panel while we have Boniface and Lookman fighting for vote since they're from the same country.

Awards based on vote and not achievement/stats aren't the most reliable because of human emotions. Nevertheless, still hoping Lookman gets what he deserve because he has been so instrumental to the somehow success that the Super eagles has been getting.

Although more is needed from our players to avoid there being a debate when awards like this are around. Last season that Osimhen won, there wasn't any argument whether he deserve it or not because it was very clear.

T's the same way for Ademola Lookman to win it this year but they have just decided to make things difficult by bringing up a name that didn't merit it. What has Diaz done at the national level? We didn't see shit during the African Cup of Nations and when it comes to the European level, we will never forget how Lookman single handlely won his side man the European Europa league competition. If Caf should do things with transparency, we shouldn't be worried who win, Diaz shouldn't even make the list first thing first, Sebastian Haller should have. North Africans can be manipulative when it comes to giving award. May have forgotten the name, but I'm sure they robbed Jay Jay Okocha off he's African best player award.

Yeah Ademola Lookman would have been the most favoured if the award is to be done through normal appointment or announcement but since it will be conducted and determined through a vote I'm afraid that Ademola may not emerge the way we are presuming it because sentiment is always something that cannot be eradicated during the voting and they would always choose the player whom they cherish.

And another thing is our method of analysing players performance is always different from how they would see it, so we could be talking about Ademola Lookman being the most deserving player among the three and they gave the Award to another player, so since they would vote I think Brahim Diaz will be giving the Award because if for instance we have 11 voters and 5 voted for Brahim Diaz the remaining 6 can never go to either of the two Nigerian players because it will be shared among them so it becomes impossible to get the Award.

How sure are you about this, I see what you said as what you feel thats right but the will be the award givers themselves, though I agree with you that ademola may likely be the award winner but don't forget that there is always slight politics in things like this, so don't be surprised when you hear or see otherwise, yea ademaola has always been their when call upon and kudos to him for helping his country to reach the afcon finals, having said that I still maintain my stand that in terms of award in soccer settings, it has always been one politics or the other but it would have been nice if the deserving player gets the award, I have look at your analysis and explanations, they are fact, very convincing and would be the best approach for CAF to follow to give this award, though let's see how everything will turn out to be this time.

CAF have shockingly surprised us with this list. Victor Boniface an obvious omission why?
Because he missed the AFCON? what did serhou Guirassy do at the AFCON, Simon Adingra only had one good game that’s the finals ( Clubwise nothing) and Amine Gouiri?
What stats or performance was used to make this list cos a lot of unqualified players are here and then No Brahim and Boniface, Ok let’s say they didn’t play the AFCON, which player on this list except Lookman performed better than Victor Osimhen at the AFCON and this is a 10 man list. He should be there, this list is so POORLY given.

I just saw the news and was coming to update the thread, it seems the previous list of the last 3 shortlist was just a speculation and wasn't the original list sorry guys for this misinformation. I'm happy that sentiments weren't considered and players that deserve a shot at the award were nominated. Boniface not being nominated would had its justifications because he didn't have any impact on the just concluded AFCON tournament. You can't nominate someone for a tournament he didn't have any impact in. What he has, was for his club so he can get awards over there. Glad Africa is being put first before any western influence. And we don't know if the former coach who lead the team for the world cup qualifier was the one lead the team in the AFCON Qualifiers, we don't know what would have happened. We have to hand over applause for the new Super Eagles coach who lead the team to stay at the top of the group. Ademola Lookman, but William Troost-Ekong has made it to the top 10 players of the year. We still appreciate all their efforts in the team.

I am not shocked to see that Nigerian coach during the AFCON is absent from the nomination, If his contract was not terminated, I am sure he would have made the list. We should have a coach on this nomination, the NFF needs to stop changing coaches and give the Job to one man, and then give him time to show worth.
The award should be given to Fae the Ivorian coach who turned Ivory Coast African cup of nations failures to glory for them, winning the AFCON, and has been helping the team since.

Well deserved for Ademola Lookman and Elong who was brilliant during the tournament,  he was our highest goal scorer during that tournament,  yes? I love Victor Boniface and would have loved to see his name on the list but the truth is that Boniface didn’t participate in the AFCON. Congratulations to the Super Eagles players who were nominated, among the Nigerian players that are on CAF list, Stanley Nwabali stands out for me because he is a goalie. It’s not often that goalkeepers get recognized for their performance and role in helping their team win games.

The selection is accurate and for the likes of Jackson, salah, kudus and aubameyang who feels they deserve to make it to the names of those that are nominated, it should send  a clear message that you have to take African football as serious as you take your club side football. You can't give in your all to your club side and fall to show your presence at the national level and expect that you will get nominated because of your club side performance. If he steps up at the eagles in this coming AFCON then he can expect his name to get listed in the next nomination.

You know player's injury is one of the most disheartening thing in a player's career, while some players always play carefully to remain safe from being injured, others could become reckless making them prone to injuries. One thing that will also always contribute to a player's injury status regardless of whether he's careful or careless is he position he plays within the pitch.

Players playing forwards are those with the most prone to injuries among other positions of players in the pitch. They are most likely to suffer from joint injuries from the lower limbs. While midfielders could be the second be the second most prone to injury position with midfielders most likely to suffer from muscle injuries from the back region.

Boniface car accident is a different thing entirely since the injuries didn't emanate from the football pitch but at least it gave me the opportunity to do little research about injuries and the injury prone positions in the football pitch. As God will have it he didn't sustain much injuries from the accident even when the car involved looks seriously damaged. He was able to survive it. This is his fate. The same player was since on the pitch last Saturday and scored a 72nd minute winning goal against Frankfurt just to be involved in an horrific car accident while going to pick up a friend at the airport.

The team has announced he's face including him making a gratitude post on Instagram, however he could not appear in their last game with Brest, making the club end up in a draw. I think the impact of his absence on that very last game was felt badly and he's likely to come up in the subsequent games after he must have gotten the doctor's approval.

Yeah, it was interesting to see that CAF made such decisions by using AFCON as one major criteria for nomination, at least it would teach those big boys who only focus on their club side and refuse to put more effort in participating for their club side than their National team just so they'll win the African best player, the club side is mostly European based and shouldn't be a major criteria for the best player of a competition held in Africa by CAF, maybe they've done that in the past but this new development by CAF is a very good and welcomed and I think you're right to say that it would make many African players in various clubs abroad to sit up when they come back home to participate in AFCON competition. You could imagine seeing players like Mo Salah, Osimhen and some other big boys leading their teams to victory their various club side but not putting much energy when it comes to their National team or even giving excuses not to participate but then wants to be nominated as the bear player in Africa, godluck to Ekong and Lookman.
