Hi all, I'm looking for some advice - I have some more fiat to invest and I've been racking my brain on where to put it. I'm new to Bitcoin but I've been buying heavily for the last 2 months. I already have decent physical gold and silver stacks. Here are the choices I've narrowed it down to:

1) More Bitcoin (though I have to admit I am hesitant to let my Bitcoin investment get into 5 figures)

2) More physical gold (I'm leaning towards this right now)

3) Mining shares (you know, the ones that the people on KWN are always saying are going to the moon)

4) Managed forex account (I know 90% of them are just scams, but I was hoping there are a couple of legitimate ones out there that could return at least 10% a year. If anyone knows of any, please share.)

All opinions are greatly appreciated!

Real Estate?  I diversified into that last year when I thought the prices had gotten close to fair even though I suspected some more downdrafts.  It's already given my a 5% on my principle return via rental...and I only got it rented in Sept (though to be fair I've not factored in taxes and insurance so It's probably closer to 3%.)   But I got an office to use as well which I needed.

OTOH, if I'd not been busy with that, I probably would have been pursuing Bitcoin in the Feb/March timeframe and who knows where I'd be sitting now.  I bet I would have sat out the peak of the bubble like an idiot though.

in the same vane, what are u guys doing with your bank savings accts that exceed the maximum covered by the FDIC?  i think the coverage limits are going to be taken down later this year, IIRC.

Savings accounts???  I don't keep any money in those, they are a useless invention..

lol, no, but my old man does.

I have fairly eclectic tastes in music, but I do like it to match the genre..  I don't listen to Enya in my truck for example...  lol

I'm totally happy with my old 80's Toyota as my footprint in the 4x4 space.  It's easy to change lanes because people don't figure you have insurance.

I splurged and got an almost new Yaris which does not have the same advantage, but get's nice mileage.

Yeah I used to have one like that but it got too old..  22RE with a slipped timing chain that ran like shiet.  Put a load of wood in the back and collapse the rear suspension and barely make it up a gnarly hill..  Offed it some time ago..

I have a beast of a truck now Wink  My commuter car is getting a bit long in the tooth thu.  I been thinking of maybe upgrading.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I think I'm going to go with some more physical gold AND Bitcoin (split between straight coins and GLBSE investments). Thanks to the poster who brought up GLBSE - I hadn't even thought of that.

I firmly believe that precious metals and Bitcoin are going to be going up in a big way - I'm already pretty diversified, just trying to optimize my ratios at this point.

Also, stacking is just so boring.... if it wasn't for Bitcoin, I wouldn't be having any fun at all  Smiley

be careful with GLBSE.  i lost alot of Bitcoin to a scam company.  make sure you know the exact identity of the principal along with an address so that you have an avenue to recover from any shenanigans.

Out of the four options, I would personally go with 1+2 with selective exposure to 3 and a token (disposable) amount in 4.

Another thing you can do without increasing Bitcoin exposure is invest with a project on the lending forum. Most are affiliated with Pirate's business and offer very high rates of return. After your initial investment has grown (maybe doubled), you can withdraw your capital and let the excess continue to grow.

If you want to avoid the excessive uncertainty surrounding Pirate's business, I recommend hashking's offering, which is backed by an established real-world business. The rates of return are more reasonable and/or stable.

You might be better off just keeping most of your bitcoins liquid for now, though - wait until a major event and then deploy after things have settled down for a while.

perhaps i should get a new toy.

Go big or go home Smiley

actually my subs don't have to vouch for anything.  i wrote everything right here in this thread.  go back and check.

I remember.  No need to check.  Just wondering if you covered yet, as the dollar index is falling..

Don't get caught with your pants down with QE3, euro gold bonds, and a falling dollar index  all on the table...

USDX isnt falling... not until its below $81 would I call it falling.

EDIT $82 is an important level too... just not as important IMO

We didnt even test $82...

EDIT: Metals are inching up with the dollar now... interesting

USD sideways above $82...

Silver chart looks beautiful this morning Smiley
