Is your Power Supply upside down ?  Huh

Yeah, that looks like a recipe for heat death.

This is how it should be

I'm not difficult. Tongue Taking the 6870's shroud apart WAS ! lol

I'll try the 2.5's on the 6870 in a day or two.

The 2.8's didn't help but it was worth the shot.

Is your Power Supply upside down ?  Huh

Thanks for the 'heads up' guys, but I'm good. Smiley That case is an Antec V2, and just like my 300, does not have a bottom psu intake.

With the side panel on, the Thermaltake TR2 runs warm and seems normal. Its verrry cool with the side panel off.

I was thinking that I should cut one out for the 300, but ended up scrapping that idea after I figured out how to get the hcg 750w, the air flow it needed. I did this by setting the gpu's fans to approx 50-75%. Now that the gpu and psu fans are working together, the psu runs freakishly cool even with the front/side panel and filters on. Wink

Looky at what I just snagged the last of !

Antec cp-850w psu - $50 LMAO

Ya I have an Antec 300, which has it's PSU mounted on the bottom, but it also doesn't have a PSU intake built into the bottom, so after a bit of research I have my PSU mounted with the fan facing up, just like the one in the pic.

The 300 AB and/or the AB II has one.

update..

I forgot to mention that the SDK 2.8s seem to have stopped the odd 'worker is idle' errors and my accepted shares per hour rate is also up. Smiley

Also... I FOUND MY FIRST EVER BLOCK !! LOL WOOOOT OOOHHHYYYAAAA

The 5850 found it just before my initial post. Tongue

Happy New Year all ! See yas in 2013.

With that sort of electric bill you would be better buying a diesel generate for that get a converter for it and run of cooking oil then you can simply goto our local chip shops ask them for their used oil filter the oil out through a filter system free energy. Or you could get some converters for wind power in their too to produce power back to company Smiley

12,000w x 24 x 30 would be ~8,600kwh per month. That means you'd have to be paying $0.12/kwh to pay $1000/month. That is a lot of electricity to be paying for 30GH/s....

That's cheaper than am paying at £0.14 that's around $0.20

That is not very efficient.....a well tuned 7970 can get over 3 MH/w.  You are only getting 2.62.

There may be some significant savings if you take the time to tune these up a bit.

Hey Here is my new gaming PC that became a mining rig almost immediately.

It contains:
Radeon HD 7970 Core 1125
Intel 3770k OC'd to 4.5GHZ
16GB Vengance LP OC'd to 1600MHZ
1TB WD Caviar Black
800W PSU
NZXT Switch 810 with 6 Fans
I get 650-680Mh/s
Mining when I have the computer on, not 24/7

Now they look like this:

Here is my final setup for my 11 BFL Singles (patiently awaiting to go home when the ASICS arrive) - They average about 9200 MH/S total

Cheesy You know the super long twist ties that come with your PSU cables? They work, 1.5 years out and not one failure.
Actually an old pic there. Down to 3 identical rigs in the basement mobo and all w/ two 5970's, 5870, 5850 all reference design and one BFL (aka Bull Fucking Lame) each.

Very glad I just trimmed the fat (5830's non-ref. 5850's) from the cave and didn't sell out everything.
