Come on...this thread was glorious once, where are THE RIGS?
[IMG]http://i39.tinypic.com/357kfgx.jpg[img] I really didn't need to see that... Now I'm gonna have nightmares of GPUs falling out of the sky and hitting me while I sleep. Oh come on. This is a nice rig. I like the style: just crap shit together and HOPE! Thanks I shitted in one hand and hoped in the other. Guess which filled up first?

I've posted my rigs before, but here is my PC: Here is a pic of 3 of my rigs (one is disassembled) It was your rig that inspired me to build this (I've posted this a few pages back). So a big thanks to you sir!

Pardon my noobness but.. why is it some configs need dummy plugs on the gpus ?
My headless 7870 works just fine without one and without having to create a fake display.

So a big thanks to you sir! WoW I love to inspire people please tell that to my wife However the original food case miner belonged to someone else (it was a green case with just a mess in it but it worked), I just upgraded it. It is very useful when you need to move it around, it takes little space and of course it is very cheap. When I have some time I'll make more pics, I put some HDD and PWR LEDs and a mobile phone to restart them. Nice spacers btw, mine are just a few peaces of wood. Pardon my noobness but.. why is it some configs need dummy plugs on the gpus...
You need just one dummy on one card if you are not using a monitor. Once upon a time u needed on all cards because MSI Afterburner wouldn't clock cards with no monitors.

IDK but looking at those milk crates or whatever they are I get the feeling that they were specially designed for bitcoin mining. There must be a bitcoin conspiracy.

Dummy plugs were needed with older versions of the AMD driver.

Dummy plugs were needed with older versions of the AMD driver. Ahh.. its probably because of the WDDM driver version. Makes sense now. Thx

I got the shits with linux. plus i can have about a billion other programs running on my miner with windows If you have a dedicated miner, linux, or rather BAMT is excellent. I unplugged the cpu fan! Flashing clocks in GPU bios also reduces the overhead as the mining program pools the hardware at intervals to check settings, the GPU don't mine while being pooled. Thats why you don't run variable fans either. Linux gave me 5% more hashing and saved 50w in power. And you have zero downtime!
