ZCash (the equivalent of the 3DO) has done nothing to address its technical issues, and has in fact added a host of social issues (backed by a company with a premine) which make it double-damaged.

Well at least Snowdan thinks that zcash is solution to bitcoin's privacy problems.

https://news.bitcoin.com/snowden-zcash-bitcoin-risks/

People are putting way too much weight on what was said. Zooko was presenting in advance of Snowden, so guess what happened? Oh and, Bitcoin.com is owned by Roger Ver, an angel investor in Zcash.

Oh come on Roger.  You are an angel investor in something with a 10% premine started by a company, and you don't see the brilliance of an anonymously released and technologically more sound alternative?

my superbull chart.

You know what I never see? (Possibly because the information is too valuable to share). Charts showing the hypothetical future peaks we could see and where on the Fibonacci retracement that puts us now.  Essentially a forward looking type of Fibonacci analysis where you consider where we are sitting now vs a near term hypothetical peak.  There would be only 5 to 7 possibilities for a present price point.

I think you are looking for Fibonacci extensions?

"LE36: Roger Ver and Erik Voorhees – Scaling Debate and the Future of Bitcoin" - Monero Mentioned at 29:20:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EiePk91w6pM#t=29m20s

I always cringe a bit when I hear zcash or that other altcoin being mentioned in the same breath as Monero. Zcash does not even exist yet and clearly has both technical and non-technical flaws. dash, well lets's say we discussed that before.

It gives some insight and perspective on how misunderstood and underestimated Monero still is, even by these high profile Bitcoin veterans.

It's neither misunderstood nor underestimated. At least not by the people we're referring to. The only reason they mentioned Monero at all is because their intentions would be (more) obvious if they didn't. So they mumble it under their breath between other projects and quickly move on.

I would like to thank whoever was suppressing monero by dumping over and over to 169k any time it made progress, for helping me load us as much as possible.   I hope you just got left behind by the monero rally.

Mumble is right, I had to listen to it twice before it heard Monero.

Interesting, I see that klee exiting XMR was a bullish sign. Or maybe klee is the manipulator?

How hard can it be for them Johnny?  Acquire a reasonably whalish percentage of Monero - say 1%, which is fully possible given their Smaug hoard of Bitcoins.  Then set up some buywalls to support their new investment.  Then commit 1,000 bitcoins of dev support, funding, and ad purchases.  Then release official statements of support.

They aren't supporting some ICO premine/devmine.  This is an authentic project they should take pride in supporting.  Why would they be worried it will undermine their own Bitcoin investment?  There is a future for both projects - public and private money.

Looking at the BTC trades go by, we see giant flurries of zero BTC "dust."

Those indicate interest payments being made to lenders, so we have some indication XMR is being shorted, perhaps heavily, today.

Time to break them?  Or wait while they grow overconfident?

In Ver's case, it's not his Bitcoin investment he's worried about... it's his Zcash investment.

I assume it's considerably more risky to invest in a community-driven project that you have no control over and can only hope the price increases. Compare that to investing in an already greatly hyped, for-profit project where you can sit back and collect 20% of the mining revenue. He makes money even if the price never moves.

For shame if that is the case.  From watching his videos he doesn't seem like the type totally motivated by getting rich - he was already pretty well off before Bitcoin even.  He seems motivated by a desire to be repping the best technology, regardless of other facts.  He has a lot of talent and passion - lets hope he is with the good guys when it comes time for the movie.

Whatever you think is the reason for the XMR price pump of the last 12 hours is wrong and irrelevant! The only reason is because I sold all my XMR 12 hours ago!  Angry
