Bitcoin loans are now very affordable and as ETH bubble seems to be bursting there are plenty of bitcoins available now for margin long positions.
If you believe the price will rise faster than you need to pay interest, you might want to take a small long position...?

i have a small leveraged long position but nothing fancy, just for the lulz Wink

trading the swings with leverage can be helpful especially for the smaller traders. why risk 2.5 btc if i can have the same performance for 1 btc ? depending on the individual situation this can really make a lot of sense.

The market risk is the same. If you mean exchange/counterparty risk, then it might make sense (balanced against the interest rate).

Isn't the market risk marginally worse because of the borrowed interest rate ticking away? Plus you give away more information by interacting in the lending markets.

Is there any particular reason that XMR is rallying so much vs. BTC right now (I'm out of the loop)?

I think interest rate is separate from market risk. Giving more information away is probably valid. "Same" is a strong word; "very similar" might be more appropriate.

At this point it is used to say "organic growth". When the price drops, it is all about whales manipulation attempting to get cheap coins.  Cheesy

Nope keep ignoring it until it hits a new ATH.  Just keep ignoring it.  Pay no attention to whats happened and dont listen to/read the monero missives.

Definitely dont go to  https://www.reddit.com/r/Monero/about/traffic/  and see how much the monero community has been growing, based on reddit traffic numbers.  Dont go to the github and check how many commits there have been related to the GUI recently, and dont go read the whitepapers about RingCT, and the updates on its development.

Dont go look at the hash rate statistics and see that Monero difficulty hit a new all time high a couple days ago.  And dont go looking at the Node counts and realize that high uptime nodes hit a new all time high a couple weeks ago.

Leave all the monero for us, thanks.

Yeah youre right.  Nothing ever happens in monero ever.  Any price rise is a pump.

You should all go full margin short.

(Edit: No, you really shouldnt go full margin short.  No one claim that I told you to do that, lol!)

Lol chill out mate, I actually divested a bunch of my BTC into Monero when it first hit 0.0035, I own nearly a thousand. I was just after some info cos I didn't sell when it hit the 0.004s (last year?) after being convinced by its features and deciding to hold even though I could have sold and made profit.

You gave me some good info anyway, even if it was in a passive aggressive way...

XMR price went up now for more than a month. that ETH incident pushed it up to fast and needed 10 days to stabilize, now is just continuing.

Is funny that all Poloniex is again red beside XMR.

No news really. Just monero pump time now.

There have been several big commits in Github over the past few weeks, the Monero StackExchange hit 100% recently, Cryptopia added an XMR base (like Poloniex), it has by far the best technology for untraceable and private transactions, a solid community and committed devs...I could go on. Those are just some of the reasons. Frankly, this coin is still very undervalued.
