1021  Other / Politics & Society / Re: RACISM on: May 27, 2023, 06:13:10 PM
Racism is unacceptable in all forms. I would like to think we have come a long way though since the 70’s & earlier when it was everywhere. That does not mean we can rest & stop raising awareness though. If you see racism online report it, if you see it in the street try to educate people if it is safe to do so. It doesn’t matter what colour our skin is, we all bleed red. Be kind to each other.
1022  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Core 24.0.1 Released on: May 27, 2023, 04:43:52 PM
if you have 2 different receiving addresses on the core wallet, can you send satoshis 'internally' from one to the other addy?
is there anything in particular that needs to be taken into account?

I did this a few months ago, I won’t be selling anything until at least mid 2025 so wanted to consolidate & have all coins in one address.

1023  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My mistake was making my involvement with Bitcoin public on: May 27, 2023, 09:46:15 AM
Family can be very jealous if you succeed & do things that they will never be able to achieve. Just remember some people will always want you to fail because they can’t handle the jealousy. Envy is one of the deadly sins.

Just keep doing what you are doing, invest in bitcoin, buy as regularly as you can afford to & keep it quiet.
1024  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I believe that Bitcoin will make me independent on: May 26, 2023, 09:37:46 PM
Don’t ever apologise for your English OP. Your second language is a lot better than most people who don’t even speak one. The fact that you’re making such a big effort to communicate in another language is impressive.
Keep doing what you do, buying bitcoin regularly will help you immensely if you’re able to do it long term. Just get your head down, work hard & stack sats.
1025  Economy / Speculation / Re: What if BTC won't see ATH again? on: May 26, 2023, 07:36:50 PM
We always have people doubting bitcoin. It’s been declared dozens of times but it just keeps churning out block after block. Tick Tock, Next Block, every 10 minutes approx.

Bitcoin is in a consolidation range, we will break out but it may be a while. I think it’s extremely likely we see a new all time high in the next 12-18 months & a blow off, euphoric top by the end of 2025.
1026  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: journey to financial freedom on: May 26, 2023, 07:09:24 PM
In January 2009 after the release of Bitcoin, the journey to financial freedom begun, i believe this is the right platform for me to learn more about bitcoin, though Bitcoin is 14 years old now, hope i'm not too late to join the bus?

Of course you’re not too late. It’s never too late to invest your money in an asset that will only increase in value. You might have to wait a good few years to make serious money but if you have patience it’s not a problem.
1027  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is a new pandemic imminent? on: May 25, 2023, 08:17:47 AM
I think the last worldwide pandemic before COVID was the Spanish Flu which was in the late 1920’s & early 1930’s. These things tend to occur approximately once in a century so I really hope we have seen the last of this type of thing in our lifetimes. COVID was horrible for everybody so I pray the next pandemic is not imminent.
1028  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: People with quick rich attitude always mess up with alt coins on: May 25, 2023, 05:46:56 AM
Sometimes these guys need to experience losing money before they come to their senses & just buy bitcoin. Obviously they see a minority of investors getting rich with meme coins & they think it’s easy so they can do it. It’s often they only discover that isn’t the case when they get rugged. If they still have the stomach to be involved in cryoto they soon move to bitcoin, it’s how maxis are made.
1029  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: STAGNATION OF BITCOIN PRICE FOR WEEKS on: May 25, 2023, 05:08:09 AM
Sustained periods of low volatility usually precede a big move. The question is, which direction will that move be?
Like OP says, the chances of default are probably quite low, purely because allowing that would drive the world into real financial trouble. I am not sure the Dems will allow that to happen with an election nearing. The people would blame a default on them & they would lose voters.

So any way, expect a big move this quarter, we just don’t know when. We could get a debt ceiling increase at the 11th hour. In that scenario we might dump hard first but then pump higher once an agreement is reached.
1030  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think China is playing a double game? on: May 24, 2023, 08:23:51 PM
Maybe they see the US being hostile somewhat to bitcoin without any regulatory clarity and think if they step in & offer regulation to big companies they will move there & China can make a lot of money out of it. China see an opportunity to gain ground on the US in the fight to be the number 1 for digital currencies. Let’s see how it plays out.
1031  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NFT OR MEMES on: May 23, 2023, 11:32:54 AM
I don’t think either have long term viability as good investment choices if I am honest. I do however believe that NFT’s are going to do nothing other than trend downwards from now on. Meme coins have the chance to occasionally pump due to FOMO & VC’s artificially pumping them. It’s possible to profit from them if you get in & get out at the right time. I don’t think either are good, long term investments though.
1032  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wife discovers husband's hidden Bitcoin during divorce proceeding on: May 23, 2023, 07:26:08 AM
He can say he lost his passphrase or seed in a boating accident Cheesy

Seriously though, he can just say he can’t remember his passphrase or seed & then several years later, when proceedings are completed, suddenly remember how to access the coins. There are ways to come out on top in a situation like this Wink
1033  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Now there is a global crisis, do you think this is a game of political chess? on: May 22, 2023, 09:11:09 PM
The world is always run by political chess, it’s just more noticeable to people like us now because of the global financial system. Republicans & Democrats are currently gridlocked over a decision on raising the debt ceiling. Will they, won’t they etc. I assume it’s all to manipulate markets & then they will agree on some sort of deal at the last minute.

Then we have the Ukraine vs Russia war with all the shenanigans there. I try to just get on with my life & not get top fixated on things that are out of my control.
1034  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Cardano still a good investment? on: May 22, 2023, 08:06:37 PM
I think so, I still hold some. I’m not talking much, less than $1500 but I think it’s a good little hedge to have in a balanced portfolio. I predict it could hit $25 or something like that in 2025. I don’t expect any huge pumps imminently but it will definitely do well in 2024 & 2025.
1035  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can't central bankers just buy all the bitcoin and miners? on: May 22, 2023, 07:40:51 PM
They can’t just buy all the coins, millions are lost, there are also psychos like me who won’t sell my coins to them. They can buy lots for sure but that’ll just increase the price & create lots of positive media for bitcoin, they do not want that to happen.

Bitcoin can’t be banned too, all they can do is ban themselves from using it & try to make it more difficult by closing on/off ramps. People will find a way though.
1036  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: People with quick rich attitude always mess up with alt coins on: May 21, 2023, 10:30:10 PM
Very few people succeed with get rich quick type of thinking or hopes in any type of investment. For every one person you hear about who became a millionaire by investing $500 in an altcoin there are thousands who lost money.

It’s possible but unlikely to get rich quick. Be realistic & invest in projects you have researched extensively. Slow & steady wins the race. Getting rich is more likely a marathon, not a sprint.
1037  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: No Agreement to Debt Deals that Protects Crypto Traders on: May 21, 2023, 08:33:43 PM
Ahh whatever, did anybody really expect them to speak kindly about or help crypto investors? They’re just trying to protect the big institutions & rich people. We are on our own, they don’t care about us.

I think they will raise the debt ceiling at the last chance, they do not want to send the US into a disastrous recession, not with an election year coming soon.
1038  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Metamask Implemented Crypto Tax on their ToS on: May 21, 2023, 06:36:00 PM
I saw it & it sucks. It’s probably forced on them due to regulatory pressure. Just be aware though that this isn’t going to happen to the majority of people. They are just making users aware that if they are a criminal or something & the wallet gets subpoenaed by authorities for information on a person then they will pass the information to the feds. This is not going to happen to 99.999999% of normal, law abiding citizens.
1039  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Algorithm for selecting a low-fee transaction from the mempool on: May 21, 2023, 05:26:35 PM
I really appreciate the effort, I never like to risk doing anything that may result in me waiting a long time to get a confirmation. I remember in the 2017 bull run & during the block size war sending bitcoin with a low fee & having to pay extortionate fees to a pool to get my transactions confirmed. I would rather not risk sending bitcoin & miscalculating the fee, trying to be a cheapskate & end up waiting.

I use this right now to ascertain the best fee to send - https://mempool.space/

I’d rather just pay the fee required to get a faster confirmation than save $1.50 or something so small & end up waiting hours or worse days for a confirmation.
1040  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: scalping Bitcoin vs. other assets on: May 21, 2023, 05:04:32 PM
I don’t think scalping is a good idea in any way, shape or form. I don’t think short term trading aka day trading is a good idea. It’s the best way to get burnt & end up trapped on the wrong side of a trade.

My advice is boring but effective, you should buy & HODL. Patience will always reward you.
