1021  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Advice when you are going a bit far in gaming and betting on: May 14, 2023, 08:18:46 PM
This is just the basics, but anyone should be aware of it:

Budget: set it BEFORE you start gambling and stick to it.
Have a break from time to time, it is important to let your brain stop and consider.
Avoid drugs / drink as much as possible, they will make you loose some control innevitably.
Seek help if you feel you are no longer in control. Make a phone call to a friend or go out and speak with someone.

Anything else anyone can think of? Like... read this post before gambling? Tongue

Self awareness to getting addicted should be the main advice. Every gambler should pay attention on his gambling habits.
If at any point the gambler does something what he had not planned on to do then the chances are higher that he is slowly getting addicted to gambling.
For example: Playing more than the allocated time for gambling or increasing the budget for gambling out of the blue are some incidents to know your gambling addiction has increased.
Having the right discipline in gambling that will make you gamble responsibly is very much essential for a gambler. Otherwise, you will end up doing things not within your control, until you used all your money thinking that if you gamble more, you will still recover what you have lost. That’s where gambling addiction could lead you into more uncontrolled losses that you will surely regret in the end wishing you did not gamble in the first place.
1022  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can i make 100 $ daily from online casinos on: May 14, 2023, 06:20:16 PM
It's been awhile I try daily to make profit

Stake casino mostly mines

But it take back profit.. I have 2k balance.. is there method

To get 100 $ per day
Unfortunately, online gambling cannot guarantee us fixed profits, nor any amount of profits more than our losses. We can win on a certain day, but we might lose it again the following day. That’s how uncertain online gambling is. That’s why if we get lucky and win huge amount from online or physical casino gambling, just leave the casino immediately and never be tempted to gamble more to anticipate more profits. Gambling is just a matter of chance and luck, and once they’re gone, you will stay losing the whole time.
1023  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Lets Brain storm on how to limit losses... on: May 14, 2023, 05:58:40 PM
What led to your major loss in the market as for me it was staying too long on a trade i was making good profit before it turned all red and while waiting for the market to finish the correction moves i ended up losing everything.  How about you?
This is why I've had so many setbacks. And, in my opinion, this is also the reason why most traders' funds are depleted. Instead of taking a break from trading due to persistent losses, we began trading continually even though we no longer followed the plan and were ruled by emotion. Your reasoning is that you want to recoup your losses, so you trade more frequently and raise your position size; this only demonstrates that you are not adhering to your risk management strategy. As a result, it causes significant losses and causes your capital to vanish swiftly.

This is very common to most of the traders that even if we experienced a lot of losses, still we end up see ourselves trading in the market again hoping to finally be favored of the market condition. But all we incur are just repetitive losses and there’s nothing new to it. The more you trade for greed, the bigger chances you’ll lose more. That’s why I’ve come to realized that greed has no real place in trading, though it can motivate us to learn more so we can be profitable from trading, but trading with greed and high emotions will only make us prone into losing our trades than profiting from it.
1024  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My friend's investment in Bitcoin on: May 14, 2023, 05:43:56 PM
Well, if you've said the potential for him to lose and to profit and so I guess that's enough already for your friend to understand that Bitcoin isn't just an overnight investment that people have been misleading of.

If you didn't convinced him and you just told and introduced him to Bitcoin, it's not your fault if you see him or he actually sees that the market is dropping and his entire portfolio or purchased Bitcoin starts to drop in value.

You've explained well to him that he could profit and lose from it, so, that's all about he has need to know. It's also possible that he had made his research even before you've mentioned it to him or just after he heard it from you.
Investing is already taking a risk, so probably right after you mentioned to him about bitcoin, he has started to educate more of himself before he was finally convinced to invest in it. Good thing you mentioned to him and made him aware that bitcoin is capable to make him lose more than profiting, at least he won’t dare to blame you when in the future bitcoin price will start to plummet and drop its price sharply. But I guess he’s already aware that everytime bitcoin drops, there’s always a chance after for recovering.
1025  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Beginner mistakes and how to avoid them on: May 13, 2023, 09:59:04 PM
For me, my advice to beginners is to trade in the long term and stay away from scalping until they have a good experience in trading.

Patience and not being greedy are also important tips. These negative traits are the main reason why many novice traders lose.

In any case, beginners should not enter into large deals at the beginning, and it is always better to enter with what they can afford to lose.
Beginners are more risk of losing their funds so they should never invest for short term but focus on long term trading. That will help them to develop more of their knowledge and skills, and broaden their experiences in trading that will be very important to succeed in their trades. And yes, patience is very vital in trading. You would not seen successful either in investing or trading if you are not patient in the first place. And when we say being patient, that does not mean that you have to be greedy and lose all your future profits. Trading should never be selfish, you have to separate your emotions so you can be successful in any trading attempts you make.
1026  Economy / Economics / Re: Why you should use spare money to invest on: May 13, 2023, 09:44:51 PM
There is no normal being that loves getting losses on business, career, investment and trades that's why even company holders make financial policies to keep record of investment and profits flows. And unlike other business bitcoin also makes sales and losses if you do not investment wisely....is nice when you put in what can not put you sickbed or gives you hypertension, don't invest out of what you cannot withstand the loss.

Is better to use small money or learn risk management first before investing especially newbies.
Investing using your money you can afford to lose is one effective way that you will last longer in your investment. At least, if you lose in the start, you can still manage to recover easily that loss and then invest again on the coins you believe will work out in the market. That’s also one way to lessen the risk in any investment especially like bitcoin. Bitcoin cannot assure us that the whole investment will be profitable, so it’s best to invest only on the amount of money that won’t leave us regretting once they turn as a loss.
1027  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Politicians behind the development of gambling platform on: May 13, 2023, 09:23:00 PM
Politics is not gambling, if a politician want to get population or voters with gambling I think that people that may follow the politicians don't know their what, so I believe that for politics people get votes during election for some things they have already done or their reputation base on the what the person brought to the masses
Politicians can own a gambling business to get funds used for campaigns. And it's from the money from the illegal gambling business that they can pay people to vote for them, and that has been the case for a long time in many places. They think that money can buy people's votes and by making sweet promises to them that they will provide welfare for the people in the future. But once elected, they won't give it away and instead focus on growing their business to earn more money while in office.
Unfortunately, politicians in the Philippines can own a lot of businesses as much as they can, even if it means gambling businesses provided that they are legal and approved by the law. And no one could stop these politicians if they will use their profits from gambling to finance their campaign because in the first place, those businesses are theirs and not owned by other people. Furthermore, vote buying is not new anymore, but I always think it’s not the fault of the politicians alone if they win and make corruption later on, people should also be more responsible where to give their votes not because they are bought but because they believed that those politicians deserved to win because of their good reputation.
1028  Economy / Economics / Re: Are you Spending Money the Wrong Way in Pursuit of Happiness? on: May 13, 2023, 08:49:01 PM
Happiness will always depend on how you appreciate things regardless of its size or what, money is just an instrument but it will matter on how you will spend it. Remember that Money can be stressful, so know how to spend it wisely and live within your means.

There’s a lot of people who are not happy even if they have the money, I guess you need to seek professional advice and know how to live peacefully and happy. Spending money should not be an issue, appreciate small things matter as well.
True. Money does not totally mean happiness as there are some who have money but still feel unhappy. And even if you spend your money wrongly, that does not mean why you live your life not happy at all. People spend money wrongly because they don’t have the solid plan to follow on what, where and when to spend it. And people never know how to utilize their money well not because their unhappy, but because they lack the focus and goal on what and how to spend it according to its purpose.
1029  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to maintain profitability in crypto trading on: May 12, 2023, 09:55:07 PM
Your points are not what I expected. Stop losses, preserving your capital, going only a few percent of your portfolio in each trade, not shying away from taking loss — is what maintains profitability. Taking care of physical/mental health counts too, neglecting these two will cause you to have poor decision-making.
I would also pinpoint that those mentioned by OP are not exactly the ways to keep the profits. But knowing when to enter and close a trade will also a big help to maintain its profitability. And by separating your emotions when trading, that is also one way to avoid losses so that you can still focus on maintaining your trading profitability.
1030  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investing doesn't guarantee you to be rich on: May 12, 2023, 09:38:20 PM
6. CONFIDENCE : Trust yourself, trust the plan that you created and do not ever hesitate, in this way you can perceive the market information correctly and you will not experience any fear, panic and many more negative emotions.
It's hard for newbies to trust themselves in this market.

They might trust themselves at beginning but when they read news, fud, see price crash, their confidence will vanish quickly. They don't have enough experience to know that volatility is for short term and long term price will have less volatility up or down. It has very sharp growth since 2009 till 2023 with many big volatile price movements in those years.

They must live in this market and with time they gain experience which is important for them to trust themselves.
Confidence might be hard to gain for newbies since we all know that they still need more exposure and experience to the market before they start trusting their selves and stop relying from crypto influencers. However, with consistent losses and mistakes from investing, I guess that would be enough to learn their lesson which will also make them grow in the market and improve their strategy on how they will manage their investment.
1031  Economy / Speculation / Re: Good time to invest in BTC? on: May 11, 2023, 04:29:46 AM
Hi I have been toying with the idea of investing in BTC but have waited due to some investors saying the price will drop to 12 - 16k again. do you think it could still drop to this or are we more likely to move on up to 40k?

thanks in advance.

We never know if that will still happen. Bitcoin has already dropped $16k this year, so you may have missed the opportunity. However, if you stay patient, who knows, we might see it again. But honestly, I think we are heading towards a bull run since it's been years since the last one.

Bitcoin is still below its all-time high, so consider the current price as an opportunity, as Bitcoin tends to achieve new all-time highs during a bull run.
1032  Economy / Economics / Re: Shrinkflation on: May 11, 2023, 03:56:21 AM
Quote
Shrinkflation is practice of reducing the size of a product while maintaining its sticker price.

I hate it when companies reduce quantity (and often quality too) of product to sell it at same price as before to combat inflation. Oh and don't forget those, "30% Extra" labels.

Inflation makes everything rise, so might as well keep the original quantity and just increase the price.

Do you agree? How would you combat inflation if you were running a company?

That's a marketing strategy to remain in business. Because not everyone understands inflation, a company cannot simply increase the prices of its products as it may disappoint customers. So, you don't have to hate it, just accept the reality that we are all affected by inflation and businesses are trying to keep their companies surviving during these tough times.
1033  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue | WBC & WBO 122 lbs bout | July 25 on: May 10, 2023, 02:15:57 PM

It's aggressive but we do understand where he is coming from, or at least what the boxing body stance is. Inoue has unified all the belts in 118 lbs, meaning he has no challenges already he clean it up and almost knock out everyone.

So in a sense he is above all those 118 lbs and maybe Inoue and his handlers knows that 122 lbs might be the same for the monster. And so the governing body simply allow him as a bonus for being a unified champion to fight the next available champion in the new division with is Stephen Fulton. And he accepted it right away so it's going to be a big acid test for Inoue if he can still climb and dominate the super bantamweight just like what he did at 118 lbs.

If we look at Inoue's achievements, winning here should not be hard as the weight increase is quite minimal. Going from 118 lbs to 122 lbs is not that far, and anyone can do that without compromising their power. Just like Casimero, we've seen how powerful he is is in this weight class, so I expect the same from Inoue.

I know everyone is already anticipating the fight, but we should be patient as Inoue will make sure he is 100% ready once the fight happens.
1034  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 10, 2023, 01:25:55 PM
Looks like I was dead wrong about this Boston Celtics vs Philadelphia 76Ers game. I thought the Celtics would handle them easily on their home court but this game has been ugly. Boston can’t hit the side of a barn with their shots. No way you can win a game in today’s NBA when you’re shooting ~30% from the field and 25% from three point range…

They are on the brink of getting knockout in the NBA playoffs same as the Phoenix Suns because they kinda blowout their chance to win one of the most crucial games of the series and they ended up getting huge pressure on their upcoming games.
Let's just say that they have a bad game. Even if they do, they are not out of the series yet. We've seen the Boston Celtics play well in Philly before. So, if they can win just one game in Philly, the advantage will be back to them.

Tomorrow the GSW will gonna try their best to stay alive but the Lakers will not let them and will need to stop them in game 5 because they cannot afford to make GSW create momentum which will gonna make them regret and struggle to win game 7 of the series.
Although the Warriors are in a do-or-die game, they have been in this situation before and have the same big three who have had success in the past. Therefore, the Lakers cannot assume an easy win, even on the road. The Warriors will not panic, and they might even dominate the Lakers tomorrow.
1035  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: It's nice to be back here. on: May 09, 2023, 12:43:47 PM
Welcome back! I'm glad that you're continuing your journey despite any past mistakes. It's important to remember that not everyone succeeds on their first attempt, and what matters most is your determination to succeed. With the market potentially moving into a bullish phase soon, now is a good time to invest. This is just my personal prediction based on my years of experience in the market, but I always remind myself to take my predictions with a grain of salt as I could be wrong.

Whether you invest for the short or long term, success is achievable as long as you have the necessary skills and knowledge. The bull run will eventually come for both bitcoin and altcoins, so it's a good idea to start buying now and hold on to your investments.
1036  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How's your gambling experience right now? on: May 09, 2023, 11:38:39 AM
I think this situation will become normal within few days when the transactions rate will be low and transaction fees will automatically come down but yes at this time it's hard to deposit btc.The problem is for small gamblers who can't afford this fees with small deposit but yes they can shift to other coins because playing through them is fine to save fees and most of them are also confirmed fast. But hope fees come down and we deposit btc to casino for gambling.

I highly doubt that it will return to normal in a matter of days; if you look at the mempool and look at some transactions, you'll notice that some transactions are worth nothing, which means that there are some people out there who are deliberately sending dust and spamming the network, which has resulted in the current network congestion, and it's very unlikely that they'll stop this barbaric act anytime soon.

As for Op, as I previously stated, it is best if we switch to a widely accepted altcoin for the time being, and then return to our beloved BTC once the situation has stabilized.
That's the only way for us to still be able to gamble. We need to shift to another coin that is more stable because with what is happening to Bitcoin now, it may affect the overall crypto market, which could be bad for our crypto assets that are not stable. Looking at the price of Bitcoin, it's already dropping. Earlier, it was at $30k, but we weren't able to maintain that price, and we might see more downtrend in the days or weeks to come.

So in my case, I'm using USDT and XRP. At least with these, I will be able to save on the high fees of Bitcoin and transactions will be fast to confirm.
1037  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Has Taught Me to Dream Big on: May 07, 2023, 06:23:55 PM
Since I can now make bitcoin funds and undoubtedly get a great deal of information and insight from this group with the correct trade knowledge, I am now really glad to have found it. My life has entirely transformed from how it was before thanks to bitcoin, which has taught me to dream big. I truly like being a part of this community since it allows me to accumulate bitcoins.
I have to ignore your previous trip because I think it was a personal experience that you should regret and not have to repeat it again.

Now that you've found bitcoin, I hope you wake up and open your eyes soon. Bitcoin is not only great investment asset, it has the potential to become a currency that you can use to pay for any service in the future [even now]. It is clear that the future of bitcoin is uncertain, but as adoption and community growth increases, so will its future. Please dream and wishful, but don't occasionally be tempted by investments that offer you riches overnight even if they use bitcoin as bait. That is scam, avoid it.
Bitcoin has been a great inspiration not just for you, but majority of the people here in the forum. That’s why we always try to work it out even if it won’t promise a quick get rich like altcoins. As long as there is patience and determination when you invest, and you stick to your set goal, then bitcoin will never disappoint us. Im just glad that you finally find the real gem with bitcoin, something that we should always be proud of because it’s certainly one big dream for us.
1038  Economy / Economics / Re: Have a Income? Invest in Crypto or Not? Let's think realistically on: May 07, 2023, 05:59:41 PM
Small profit is still profit. And the first rule of thumb for me is contentment. If you as a newbie trader compares yourself with a Joe that is a professional trader who makes $500k per week on trading you may truncate whatever trading career you are building up for yourself.

Because you refused to control yourself and your emotions. Pro traders do not let their emotions control them. That's why they know when to trade and when to take a rest.
Trading does not necessarily mean that you are in for big profits, of course everyone should start with small trades and small profits until they start to improve and prosper in trading and adjust their trading capital and risk bigger amount to attract bigger chances for profits. But let me remind everyone that when you trade for bigger capital, that won’t never guarantee bigger profits too. At most times, you even lose your capital. The reason why we should never be greedy when trading. Small profits are still significant profits, so we should learn to appreciate it especially that we all know that trading is never easy and it’s very hard to trade successfully knowing the market condition keeps changing most of the time.
1039  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do you favor betting on spesific sport? on: May 07, 2023, 05:39:05 PM
I am just curious to know why people favor one Sport over another, when it comes to betting? Is there specific Sport that increase your win chance or do you bet on those Sport for other reasons?

As a bettor in sports betting, we tend to always choose the sports we know the best because I think any bettors will definitely not want to bet on such sports or games where they do not have any personal knowledge or know how about the game nor know the characteristics of the players or fighters. I mean, how can we increase our odds to win if we're just literally guessing the outcome.
Exactly. Betting in a game that you don’t even know how it’ll be going is like a suicidal, you only bet just to lose. The reason why I keep betting on boxing and in NBA since I always watched those games and I know definitely the potentials of those players that I am actually following. Though there are undeniably some games that are purely luck based, but I mostly don’t bet games like that. I still go with games that can be win through skills more than luck knowing it will always increase my chances for winning.
1040  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin doesn't give you instant 100 percent profits on: May 06, 2023, 09:59:17 PM
Not just for bitcoin alone, but in all types of investments, you cannot expect for 100% instant returns in just a short time. You need to work out your investment. And by investing in bitcoin, you need to hold it for long term without being affected by FUDs in the market and will not be bothered by price fluctuations that are constantly seen in the market. And at least never believe in 100% profits, especially if you only invest at a minimal amount. Bitcoin investment may prosper but it can never guarantee consistency in profits all the time.
