1161  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Never gamble in front of your kids. on: October 19, 2023, 07:24:22 PM
You're right, it really helps if the adds, websites and anything else related to gambling are blocked, but I don't think that's enough.
That's enough but you as a parent need to guide your children and check them out once in a while to see if they're doing something beyond your knowledge that's related to gambling. These days, kids are so adventurous and will do anything what adults are doing just as gambling and that's why you need an eye on them at most times while you can because you'll never know what they are up to.

For me, we can't really prevent them from knowing about gambling, it's better to give them an idea of how harmful gambling is for children so they don't try it anymore.
As long as their minds aren't yet on it, better not to introduce or give them ideas. But once they are on it, that's when you'll tell them the harmful benefits of gambling and they shouldn't try it because they're still kids and don't gamble when they're around for them not to see it. So they won't have any idea or thoughts on what gambling is like. Because if they do, that's the hardest part and you might have trouble stopping them.
1162  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Pacquaio vs Mayweather 2 rematch on: October 19, 2023, 01:27:50 PM
They may claim that it's for charity, but not all of the proceeds, likely just a portion of it, perhaps only a small fraction of the total revenue they will generate.
I know Manny and I guess that many of us know him and that his heart is for the people. If he says that it's going to go to the charity, it will for sure. Yes, there can be a small fraction but it will come to him. He's not like the other rich people that will make themselves richer and if they'll give back, they only do a small portion of it.

In reality, there's no necessity to frame this fight for charity purposes. After both fighters receive their paychecks from another successful bout, they can choose to contribute to charitable institutions in their own way.
The reality is more of they can keep on saying that they'll fight for charity and everyone is going to buy the tickets and pay per-view. Because the essence of this match is just for Pacquiao and Mayweather to fight. Regardless of what the result will be, the important thing is they're able to have a rematch and that's what everyone is going to look forward to. Those haters of Mayweather would like to see him do the run inside the ring, while the opposite for Pacquiao, they just want to see him getting beaten and prove that Money has always been undefeated.
1163  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin's Price Surges and Drops Unexpectedly on: October 19, 2023, 09:47:58 AM
This made people doubt if the news was true or not, and they wanted to know where this information came from.
That news was proven to be false. Cointelegraph admitted that the news was wrong and they'd made a mistake posting it. Thanks to the one who's behind that manipulation who has made a lot of money for just a few hours.

Quote
Why Bitcoin's Price Surges and Drops Unexpectedly

Just think of it at all times, Bitcoin is volatile and its price is always on the verge of going up and down. So that's it, because of it being volatile every news that comes out to be positive can affect it positively and every news that comes out negatively can also affect its price.
Do not be surprised when there is a fluctuation whether it's due to manipulation or not. But we'd love to see more of it if there is no news and it's just the normal move of Bitcoin based on the market and its demand. And we'll see that very soon when the upcoming halving is done. The good news are the ones that will follow Bitcoin because everyone knows what are the great impacts of its halving.
1164  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Relying on gamble wins is dangerous to mental health on: October 19, 2023, 08:29:22 AM
I met a friend who used about $1 to play gamble to win about $2500 in a game of different matches, all the early games went well but the last game cut which made him loose the game.  This lose made him to be sick for 3 days, the reason for his reaction was not because of the money he used to bet but he felt so bad because he has already put all his hope on the money he would have won.
What? That loss made him sick for 3 days? I hadn't heard that even before that after a big defeat, he'd go sick for that straight days. But I guess that's the consolation and price that he'd get for not securing the profit he'd made. Mental health is just lowkey attacking us but it is seriously attacking us when it gets there.

People needs not to put all their hope in games they are not sure of winning, because relying on it can be very dangerous to the mental health. Play gamble and remove your mind from the money that will be gained till it is achieved.
It's like heartbreak for your friend he wasn't able to get that win. $2500 is such a huge amount for him to ignore and didn't cash it out. If someone is relying on it and yet not a full-time gambler, they'll feel more emotional about it. While professional gamblers won't think that much although there's still some regret that's gonna leave their face. That's a huge lesson for your friend when he didn't cash it out. And the next time that he's going to gamble, he'll make sure that he's got enough winning and he'll never ignore that again because he don't want to get sick again for 3 days and that's more satisfying than to just watch the money gone when it's already on his bare hands.
1165  Other / Off-topic / Re: Keeping your gambling habit a secret. on: October 19, 2023, 07:44:33 AM
Not all lottery winners are able to retain their million dollars; others nevertheless lose everything they won as a result of poor risk management and financial literacy skills.
That's a sad truth, I've watched a lot of them win the lottery and garner a lot of money through their luck and jackpot. But many of them weren't prepared to retain their wealth so they have spent it like a one day millionaire and that's how they did it until they're all busted. If I'm the one of those winners, I'll definitely reinvest it and will let it work for me just like what the wealthy people are saying and will live a decent life without having much pressure. But lacking of financial literacy really beats a person no matter how rich they are.

Despite the fact that what you said is true, a winner should use their resources wisely and effectively in ways that will increase their profits rather than only using them when extra cash is needed but no money actually comes in. The automobile won't start, of course, when the fuel runs out, right?
The first step if they're unsure of what shall happen to them by having lots of money is to avail a financial literacy education or schooling. It won't take them much but that's the first thing they can provide for themselves so they can manage their money properly and they won't be empty quickly just like how the first winners did. Forget about having vacations, you can delay that and prioritize first on how you're going to be knowledgeable in handling your money.
1166  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 19, 2023, 06:37:35 AM
What is up with Klay Thompson and GSW? There's been no progress on his potential contract extension, but I doubt they will let Klay go or even let Klay himself play for another team. This happened to Green last time, and we even have more drama. Maybe just a little bit of drama this time before they reach an agreement again.
I thought that it was Klay that's okay with that setup and he chose not to ask for an increase but whatever it is on his potential extension, he should be good and grateful for that. But on this one, I also thought that everything was okay but maybe this is the new meta for the contract extensions, there should be some drama on it for the media to have them covered with any potential signing.

But at the end of the day, business is business.
Yes, that's always the priority of these franchises. Whatever is gonna help their business, they are on that side. However, I have big doubts that they will just let Klay go along with another team as he's also one of the faces of their team. With Poole, we've never thought that he'd be traded and I don't want to think of the same thing with Klay since he's a different kind of player if we're going to compare him with Poole.
1167  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What's your view on abortion? on: October 19, 2023, 04:47:08 AM
As much as I want to take sides on this one, I'm looking at the midst of it. While there's so much poverty feeding and growing up a child can be tough. A couple, if they don't have a means of doing that then at least practice safe sex. If they can't take the responsibility of giving a good life for the child/ren that they're going to have then at least put that protection on and enjoy. But in some cases, it's true that it's life, a form, that soon will walk on Earth just as we do. Given the fact that the baby is already there, we'd say give the kid a chance to live and let things work on their own while you work hard to provide for them. So, it's case to case basis and hard to pinpoint or direct someone when I'm not even a woman and I don't even know how they feel when they're about to make choice of their lifetime, either to pity themselves, what they are carrying and or a regret forever.
1168  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Government job or private job? on: October 18, 2023, 11:55:44 PM
If you're a person that sees the future being with the government then you'll surely choose to work for them as the benefits are there but you've got lesser freedom IMHO. It's because you shouldn't make any mistakes on your end and even in your personal life. It's like whenever there's news that someone goes amok at a bar, the media will have that headline as "a government employee run amok in a bar". So you see that there's like an attachment whenever someone works for the government and gets into a controversy. Unlike in private companies, whatever happens to you will be kept personally and privately. I've just noticed that thing whenever I watch the news as there's always this classification if someone is from the government. As for me, whatever will help me to make ends meet, I'd be happy to that and whatever is making me happy to work for and gives me encouragement to go to job everyday, I'll be there.
1169  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Give Bitcoin investment time on: October 18, 2023, 11:26:05 PM
There are still many people out there who don't understand anything at all about Bitcoin, they think Bitcoin is one of the bubble projects, gambling and so on.
That's very true, they think that it's just a fad and a bubble and still don't recognize the greater achievements that it has got over a period of time. They treat it as a gamble because of how speculative it is and it's intangible.

In fact, Bitcoin is an investment asset that can provide profits because its value can change in the future. The saddest thing I've ever heard is that, because of a lack of education about Bitcoin, some scammers collect a lot of people's money with the lure of investing in Bitcoin, but the reality is not like that, these fraudsters actually take away other people's money that they have collected, as they go along time, we have to know the ins and outs of bitcoin.
The problem is those fraudsters while they use Bitcoin as their getaway from stealing people's funds. Those who lack knowledge about Bitcoin think that it's the actual scam and not those fraudsters and scammers who are using it as their means of scamming people. And that gives the idea for the non bitcoiners that they should avoid it because of potential scam and they don't want to dig deeper the whole thing and understand that it's being abused by the scammers. Well, it's their loss and not ours when we took risk and spent time to understand it, we do get the whole point.
1170  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and it effects on: October 18, 2023, 10:57:04 PM
Not everyone has that heart but God bless those that have one. It's also hard to find one that's addicted because many want to keep it private and shy to let others know of what they're dealing with as they don't want to get exposed that they're dealing with that problem.

Most of the time if their families and friends are decent people who have no interest in gambling or something like it, they are shy to open up and keep their problem to themselves once they get addicted but in reality, they really need a second person to advise them or to talk with their problems and how to find a way to get out from it.
The first thing that comes to their mind is that they'll be humiliated when they tell and admit that they're gambling addicted. And even without the addiction and just plain gambler, there's already the judgment on the minds of the people that will hear that.

thankfully, if you can afford to go to some expert about it, you can always watch some motivational videos regarding how to be a productive person and cut all sources of addictions.
Those who can avail an expert, can easily getaway with it through their guidance. The motivational videos and words that will come from will sink into their minds on what's the right thing that they should do.

If you work by yourself, surely you will progress and eventually see a good result after it.
This is hard IMO, if you are on your own and you're trying to work on yourself and try to defeat addiction it's going to take time or possibly that you can't just beat it. But if you're able to do that on your own, that's so much better and don't think about the money that you'll save from hiring experts to guide you but think of it that you're motivated and strong and manage to overcome that hardship because not everyone can do that based on how I've seen the other gamblers dealt this problem. It's just so many gamblers that can't do that honestly.
1171  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cash out or keep playing? on: October 18, 2023, 10:25:25 PM
Well some persons gamble for fun. If that's the case they are aware that there’s no mindset of winning or losing so they just keep having fun losing all the money at least it’s entertaining to them.
That's how they determined they are to gamble for fun only. They wouldn't mind how much they've made and how much they've lost already. The point is to gamble until everything is gone and that's how they're having fun through gambling. While many gamblers are aiming to at least get some decent wins and profits, they are the lucky ones who don't really bother losing them all again. If I am that gambler and have won enough already, I'll start to go over with my wins and will take it back and withdraw them immediately. But I also do get that nerve and understand that if ever they are having fun and just want to continue what they're doing, they'll just have to continue their bets even without taking out their profits.

If I can breakeven or win back some of the lost money, there is no way am going to give back the winnings to the house when I didn't get it right the first time, tbh just don't push your luck!!
This is the wisest thing to do, you'll keep that safe and you don't want the house to take it back from you. Since you've just recovered, forget about the fun and entertainment they say and like the most known meme, "shut up and take my money" but in our version, "shut up and I'll take my money". LOL
1172  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ban from a Casino for Nothing Other Than Winning Too Much Money on: October 18, 2023, 09:56:06 PM
~snip~
That's their way of stopping a player, when you are profitable and they don't see you stopping anytime soon then they have to take action because you might disrupt the business or contribute to their further losses. This only gives the idea that no matter how good you are, they are still a business after all. Anything that can be threatening to their business, they need to act on it before it does the damage entirely. Well, it might not matter to them if you're just winning with a couple of bucks and they will allow you to keep going. I haven't been into that situation so I can't say a lot but those that I've read gives the thought on how it feels on their end that they're disappointed and being a loyal gambler to those particular casinos lost their trust on them just because of that. They're right with that feeling and as like a fan of those casinos, they should be taken well but it's the opposite that's given to them when they're just too lucky to win for so many tmes and with such huge amounts.
1173  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which old coin do you prefer? Litecoin or Dogecoin? on: October 18, 2023, 09:12:05 PM
Won't be Dogecoin anymore because I think the hype that relies mostly on it has been over. Litecoin hasn't been at its peak again for a very long time and maybe it's now the sleeping giant as they say.

Always preferring dogecoin other all coins as it has great potential to grow in future. Dogecoin drops from .7$ and it will go to 1$ in a longer run but you have to wait for may be 1 year or 2 year.
It's a milestone if ever Dogecoin reaches back to its former ATH which is $0.7 and then will break from that price to go ahead to $1. Those that have millions of it in supply will definitely become millionaires but will it happen again? We don't know, maybe or it won't. Considering the supply of it and the market cap, there should really be a lot in the entire crypto market by that time. Although I am sure this market will grow mainly for Bitcoin and other top altcoins but with such supplies for Dogecoin, maybe it will be hard to no avail.
1174  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ban from a Casino for Nothing Other Than Winning Too Much Money on: October 18, 2023, 07:57:57 PM
That's how they put someone down when they see that they're being taken down through winning most of the time. There are casinos that won't ban such guy even if winning consistently on their casino is done. What they'll do is flag that guy with a limitation and could lessen the perks given to him. Like the rewards or bonuses that they're typically giving away to all of their customers but for some reason, they'll limit that lucky guy.

So with those changes, it's like a discouragement that a change has been made to that guy even if it's not that much for him to consider. The guy will think that he's been monitored and that could give him low self-esteem and will eventually loose his interest in that casino. Usually, if the changes are good enough and we're enjoying it positively, we won't be thinking of transferring to another one.
But if it's like a perk that we enjoy or that change is certainly negatively for the account, you'll mostly think that you're not prioritized and even given less privilege which means to say that you're not being taken cared of and in result, you'll find another place to gamble.
1175  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: October 18, 2023, 07:27:42 PM
It will be incredibly interesting to watch how Tundra will play in the lower bracket, especially if they pick Witch Doctor against them, or now they will ban him in every game? Wink
There will be no room for error.
I feel that it looks like it was nothing before but the actual impact of that Witch Doctor from the match they had with nouns could probably put trauma to them. Maybe they'll use that hero against Entity or much better that they should ban it as Gabbi could use that hero against them.
In any case, I think that we will see Witch Doctor with other teams. During these 5 days of break, teams will study its use in the current patch better. At the moment, he was only picked once in TI12 in that game. Ogre Magi pikced 6 times, and won 4 times. In general, I wanted to see such heroes as Ogre Magi, Witch Doctor, Spectre much more as the grand final approached. Among other heroes, Spectra stands out in terms of win rate with 80%. I'm looking forward to seeing what the teams have prepared during this time.
We might see other teams copying what Gunnar did with Ogre Magi which he made it won on the mid-lane. Actually, it's a good hero, tanky, and can stand every clash without the possibility of being dead quickly unlike other squishy heroes that only need to release their skills before being dead. The multicast stun can have a huge impact on one hero they're focused on firing. An offlane witch doctor could be seen again and IIRC, it was also done by Team Liquid in some tournaments in the past with the tandem of IO. It was actually a good lineup. Well, at this stage of the TI, we will definitely see the secret and best heroes that most teams have been hiding and will only be used at these crucial times. They have to survive every match up that they will do in order for them to proceed to the next stage, all they have to do is to do all that they can, use their best heroes and win their matches with the strategies that they have been packing for this week. And also, counter every best heroes of the opposing team that they have, do less error so there won't be any throwing moments.
1176  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin accumulation at all time high on: October 18, 2023, 06:59:17 PM
l think anyone who accumulates bitcoin now especially for the purpose of long-term holding, will make good profit in the end of the bull run. This is probably towards the end of 2025 as has occurred in the previous ones.
At this point, they don't have to put that into long term holding. Because they're all aware that the halving is coming and it's just going to take a not that long until we see the price of Bitcoin goes on high again. That's why they're accumulating because they know what's about to come and that's a good strategy from them because they've been into this before and they understand the cycles that are about to come.

So, if anyone can, that is not a bad idea, although you have to monitor every step of bitcoin situation very well.
It's not a bad idea to accumulate. What is terrible is when you know that you should have to but you never did any action because of the fear that's in your heart knowing that it is volatile. That's not a big issue because Bitcoin's volatility has been there for a very long time and it gets more volatile every time it halves and every time it gets more adoption from the regulations. What I just don't like with these stats, they look at these accumulation rates and at the same time the dumping rate that's closely being monitored by some software or profiles in X. It's not giving that positive thought to its followers but only fear thinking that the whales are dumping.

1177  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do your parents know about your gambling habit ? on: October 18, 2023, 06:39:40 PM
Most of the grown up people do not live with parents. At such, the parents are not aware about the interests and habits of individuals. Do you parents know that you gamble ?
They knew that I gamble. They didn't like it at first because I was too young when I started but that's how they knew me and they never lacked of reminder to me. It's that because of how curious I was, I got hooked.

What was their first reaction towards your gambling habit ?
They became mad at me because I still didn't have a job at that time and I was still in school but then eventually, they were able to accept that and told me that I needed to prioritize what I had to prioritize before I gamble. Because if I don't, they know what they'll do to me and will stop every support that they can. I know that they're just words of discouragement to help me out but I took it seriously and that's how I responded to them and showed them that I am a responsible guy. Even if I gamble, I'll never break any promise that I've made to them that I am aware of what's happening to me and I won't compromise the future that they want me to have.
1178  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: No scam sportsbooks on: October 18, 2023, 06:08:45 PM
Have you been scammed with the former sportsbooks that you've played before? It seems that you do based on the title that you've made. Well, stake and many of the reputable casinos here won't do that to you. If you're a meticulous type of player and you don't want to get scammed again, choose what you think is best for you. And for the set choices, you're already in the section where announcement threads are made. Explore and read from their threads to have at least the idea that you are looking for. But to give you an idea, all of them have satisfied and dissatisfied customers, the good ones will give the experience that has been done on them and little to no complaints at all. And the other one doesn't have a good experience that even makes them not consider them anymore, so to each their own.
1179  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trade only Bitcoin on: October 18, 2023, 12:31:36 PM
Bitcoin is always better than altcoin investment.  But trading should not depend on only one coin.
As a trader, wherever you're good at with these pairs, you can depend on those. Whether it's only for Bitcoin or any other coin or one coin, just keep what you've started. Some could have been good with USDT pairs and Bitcoin and some are the other type.

Those who have good capital to invest should diversify their funds.  Although there are many good altcoins among altcoins such as BNB Ethereum.
I do agree with what you've said. When we invest, we have to make it happen that if we're only focusing on some altcoins then you better diversify and choose to have Bitcoin as well. But remember that not every diversification is a must.

The only way to increase your chances of making significant profits is to trade alternative coins that offer better altcoins. But since Altcoins are very risky, you must be careful with your trades.
Nah, you can make better profits by just simply holding bitcoin. But since the topic is all about trading, that's the other way around if you have good experience in trading other altcoins.
1180  Economy / Economics / Re: Things you should know about Money mindset on: October 17, 2023, 11:52:07 PM
Having money everywhere is so real. It is that we're ignoring the opportunities that we can have from those things. I'm guilty on this part when I've watched those kids selling lemonades and it's related to the quote about lemons and lemonades. There's the significance of how you react to a situation and that's why you need to look and think outside of the box for you to see. And it is true that money is unlimited for you to earn but it varies to our situations, talents, and skills. If we're not also doing the right thing, we will not see that. Anyway, it's easy to say these things when you can prove that to yourselves, and we have our own battles to defeat and check all of these opportunities. We all need to check ourselves on where we really are thriving and what are our strengths. And if you can't still determine that, you need to find that as soon as possible for you to have more time in accomplishing these successes before you ran out of time or you lose your appetite in grinding and pushing your dreams and goals.
