merry christmas to all, and to bitcoin's value, goodnight.

i'm targeting $12.50 before a bullish correction to $12.85 and then only down from there...

short term targets: $13.00, $13.10, $12.85, in order
1262  Economy / Speculation / Re: Downward trend imminent on: October 14, 2012, 11:54:41 PM
and it begins. pseudo-rally after $15 bubble burst was clearly a bulltrap. we are already in a downward trend from the high of $15.
1263  Economy / Speculation / Re: secret rocket? on: October 14, 2012, 11:49:50 PM
i'm pretty impressed that my adaptation of inau's "rocket secretly taking off" threads last winter have sparked a continuing theme of manipulative pseudo-speculation.

too bad two small sell-offs just occurred... seems like it ran out of fuel and we should now expect a plummet to the center of the earth.

indicators, man.

Just so you all know, Sahara now does mature digital illustrations (which can then be turned into a print) for BTC.

1265  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS bitcoin-themed merch] New Etsy Shop open for custom orders! RemixedReverie on: August 23, 2012, 08:42:22 AM
Unfortunately, because of newbie post restrictions, Sahara (plesiosauria) can't actually post in this thread so feel free to send her PMs with questions about her merchandise, and I will post them here for everyone.  Grin

Hello, btc marketplace!

I'm currently working with Etsy vendors to help them connect to new customers by accepting bitcoin for their wares. The owner of RemixedReverie, Sahara (on these boards called plesiosauria), has just decided to do so and is enthusiastically sharing her artistic creations with the bitcoin community! She also is excited to handle custom orders for any bitcoin enthusiasts who would appreciate any requests you may have.

I have not yet set up a web-based interface to streamline the transaction (Etsy has no infrastructure for integrated payment) but Sahara is willing to extend her policy and wares to the bitcoin community with my help.

You can find more of her work here and she will be posting in this thread to answer any questions about her merchandise.

If you would like to make a custom order or purchase request, please do so in this thread or to Sahara's email sahara.guns[at]gmail.com. I know BTCUSD rates have been a bit volatile lately, but don't hesitate to contact us for a fair and negotiable quote.

If you have any questions about the transaction process, or would like to help me extend this partnership to more Etsy vendors, please contact me at kieran.cheldy.richerds[at]gmail.com.

Here are some of her most-favorited items among Etsy users:

1267  Economy / Speculation / Re: What happens to Bitcoin when free energy is available? on: July 26, 2012, 11:15:48 AM
Actually the fascinating concept here is energy storage or transmission using the bitcoin network. What i mean by this is if extra solar or wind capacity is used to mine BTC, and conversely BTC miners shut down during peak hours regionally,  we will have the same effect as if excess energy in in one region was sold and transmitted to another region.  But without transmission losses!  Bitcoin is awesome!

could you explain this more rigorously?

I'll be waiting with baited breath!

Sally, having swallowed cheese,
Directs down holes the scented breeze,
Enticing thus with baited breath
Nice mice to an untimely death.

I'm looking forward to the info!

Hmm, I don't put much stock into this astrology stuff. However, I do believe that sunspot activity and economic activity has been shown to be correlated.

1271  Economy / Speculation / Re: Mt. Gox USD 365-day change is now negative... when will it become positive? on: May 12, 2012, 05:21:04 AM
This is going to be even more fun to watch as the price falls.

it'll be fun to watch as we enter the bubble territory, but the huge downward spike it'll form shouldn't be a bearish indicator, as you seem to be suggesting. in fact, the crossover we see here is simply due to the current stability of the price versus the entirely unhealthy double ramp that started around this time last year. this chart is interesting, but not very speculative.
1272  Economy / Speculation / Re: Over 100 000 open Interest at Bitcoinica! Mostly short!?! on: May 07, 2012, 06:39:32 AM
It's always "rally time" in these parts.

+1

sure is summerfag in here
1273  Economy / Speculation / Re: Rally!!!!! on: May 03, 2012, 07:39:48 AM
I think we're going to see panic selling soon.  Maybe even strong enough to push past the famous $3.80 zone.

proudhon, the famous anti-indicator

These are just wobbles - basically noise, at this point.  As usual the name of the game is sell/short above $5.15 if you can, buy back/cover below $5.  Rinse, repeat.

no, these are the rumblings before an earthquake. statistically speaking, after a long period of low volatility, and entering a period of increasing volatility, one should expect a serious price movement. i think you constantly talk your hand and never provide any serious, unbiased analysis.

coins are on their way. and yes it seems it was an extremely ill-timed wager, indeed Cheesy
1276  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Magic 8 Ball thread on: April 26, 2012, 10:04:49 PM
ill take separate wagers with you both, each for 5 btc, if he agrees of course.
1277  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Magic 8 Ball thread on: April 26, 2012, 09:45:56 PM
completely understandable. in order to balance the wager, i'll go with 5 btc either way. so the bullish gains are balanced by the lower odds of a larger price movement. 5btc to the winner same terms. you and proudhon still in?
1278  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Magic 8 Ball thread on: April 26, 2012, 09:32:56 PM
alright let me clarify the terms and i'm good with this. i said test the resistance at $5.50 so let's say the price has to reach >$5.45 before it touches $4.90. and as pointed out, it's a little lopsided so i'll take the bet with both proudhon and blitz such that i'll pay each of them 5 btc if the price touches $4.90 first, and each of them should pay me 10 btc if the price reaches past $5.45 first.
1279  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Magic 8 Ball thread on: April 26, 2012, 02:51:02 PM
i'll wager you 5 btc that we'll test the resistance at $5.50 before we see $4.90 again
