1521  Other / Off-topic / Could Al-Qaeda use Bitcoin ? on: April 28, 2012, 01:01:12 AM
Could Al-Qaeda use Bitcoin ?
Is it possible that they are already using it ?

Has anyone thought about the possibility of them using the coinbase to send messages to, or to activate Sleeper Cells in the US and abroad ?
It's quite possible that there just might be someone in a cave somewhere in the Middle East, currently able to stay in contact with operatives thanks to Bitcoin.

Should there be an Anti-Terrorist Bitcoin Organization who monitors blocks and transactions for this very reason ?
1522  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTB: 8port+ SATA/SAS RAID Card on: April 27, 2012, 07:10:42 PM
I can proxy buy you one from amazon. Perhaps there is one there that fits your budget?

I might just take you up on that offer in a month or so, but for a new media server case Wink
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002AU1FEI/ref=sc_pgp__m_ATAV5SZ5JVR3C_1?ie=UTF8&m=ATAV5SZ5JVR3C&n=&s=&v=glance

PCI-X works just fine in a 32bit. Plus it supports JBOD. I'll partially split shipping, it'll be around 2btc.

So.. 5 BTC shipped ?
1523  Economy / Goods / [FS] 5x Ecom related BTC Domains & Project Concept on: April 27, 2012, 06:19:23 PM
How can someone sell a project concept ? well, you are right....THEY CAN NOT and it's retarded to think that I could either....lol

Long story short, the 'concept' is provided to a potential buyer to help see my initial vision, but I have grown tired of 'developer shopping' and simply don't have the time to take this project on myself.

Concept ?
Well, in the current world, Ebay, iOffer, Craig's List and sites such as Kijiji are all able to live in harmony, as they offer something for everyone.

I simply wanted to develop another Ecom site around BTC, as I feel that Bitmit does a great job, but there's always room for alternatives. Not everything needs to be an auction Wink

5 Domains for sale:

bitflea.com (the catchy one)

bitcoinfleamarket.com (the self-explanatory one)

btcfleamarket.com (covering the bases)
btcflea.com (covering the bases once again)

bitflee.com (for those who have a spelling problem...lol)

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Again, as I said, I would be retarded to believe that I could sell a 'concept' so I won't even bother. BUT, using the concept provided, you can hopefully see the value in the domains and the future of a viable project.

I am the owner of an 11+ year old Enom Root Reseller account that I purchased back in the day, that I use for part of my business today.
The domains will be 'pushed' into a new Enom account for the prospective buyer, so that they can do what they with with them immediately after purchase and not have to wait for a transfer out of my account.
The process takes 2 minutes to do.

Feel free to comment.

I am open to offers and will be wearing my flame suit just in case.

Please understand, I am not a squatter. I actually had a plan, but failed in the delivery.

Cheers,
bitlane.
1524  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTB: 8port+ SATA/SAS RAID Card on: April 27, 2012, 04:38:19 AM
You left out Areca (http://www.areca.com.tw). i have one of these but it dose not fit your wish list.
The first example I listed was Areca....lol

Give me some details. Most Areca cards DO fit my wish list....just not my budget...LOL

I have a few 3ware cards with the BBU (battery backup unit)...

Shoot me some details and prices.....

I've been looking to sell one of these for quite a while now. Not sure if you are going to put this into a ZFS based box, but I have, and it worked great with 2 tb drives. It supports 64 lba's. That's far beyond 2tb per controller.

Granted the card is old (sata 1 does have it's draw backs depending on your application) but it's solid. I'm also only asking 3btc. They are dirt cheap if you need more.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16816116026

I'll even let you test it out to make sure it supports 3tb drives before you pay me (I read some forums, with 64 bit lba it should.)

Let me know what you want total for shipping to Calgary, AB, Canada.
If it works in a 32bit PCI slot, I will take it and use it for my old media server Wink
It is too good of a deal for me to pass up....and you can never have too many RAID cards...lol

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am still looking, although I will buy others in the mean time.
Cheers,
bitlane.

1525  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: AMD Catalyst 12.4 Released today. Thoughts? on: April 27, 2012, 03:44:10 AM
I'm most interested in CPU usage. What OS are you running?

How is anyone still suffering from high CPU usage ? What OS ?

For Windows users, this problem hasn't been a problem for a while (as far as I know).

I am running CAT 11.12 on all my Rigs with either SDK 2.1 (for 5xxx GPUs) or 2.4 (for 6xxx GPUs) and haven't had a CPU problem since I installed that driver.
I also retained all of the performance of the older SDKs as well.

Am I missing something ? (like perhaps a Linux problem I am not aware of ?)
1526  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: BFGMiner modular FPGA/GPU overclock monitor fanspeed GCN RPC Linux/Windows 2.3.4 on: April 27, 2012, 03:35:34 AM
FWIW, the difference between CGMiner 2.3.4 and BFGMiner 2.3.4 consists of (with the rename filtered out) 3252 added lines, and 392 removed. If it was just a rebranding, I'd have a much easier time figuring out what caused that administrator requirement on Windows. :/

I was really hoping I wouldn't have to report this, but.....

I am seeing a slight performance increase (over CGMiner 2.3.3....although I haven't tried CGminer 2.3.4 yet).
More specifically, the overall Shares/Minute average, over my small GPU-Only mining farm (dually confirmed by the increased hash rate my pool is reporting back to me, based on submitted shares).

My 5 rigs at home are all running Win7 x64 and it's not specific to any one GPU platform, SDK or driver version.
I've got a 6xxx GPU rig running SDK 2.4/CAT 11.12, a 6xxx/5xxx mixed GPU rig running SDK 2.4/CAT 11.12 as well as a few 5xxx GPU rigs running SDK 2.1/CAT 11.12.

I should also note that I didn't have any problems running BFGMiner (no 'admin' error as described above). I used the same BAT files/shortcuts to launch it, as I was using for CGMiner 2.3.3 and just changing the executable's name in the file. Same settings/overclocks/temp/fan/API and everything....no problems.

My Web Monitor (using the API output) still all works and again, the only difference I noticed was that my GPU Voltage output (DEVS/GPU Voltage) was spitting out a value to 13 decimal places, but still worked 100% with nothing changed.

As all my rigs are headless & Windows 7 x64 based. They all login automatically (using an administrator privileged account, although NOT the actual Administrator) and hit the desktop without interaction, so that I can access each rig's UltraVNC server for management without having to worry about running it as a service.

Again, nice job Luke.
(it hurt to say that....lol)

1527  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: BFGMiner modular FPGA/GPU overclock monitor fanspeed GCN RPC Linux/Windows 2.3.4 on: April 27, 2012, 01:29:43 AM
I've been running this for the last 30 minutes or so and can't see too much difference between it and CGminer (for GPUs anyway)......so far.

1 thing, my 'Web Monitor App' using the API...
For DEVS/GPU Voltage, my cards are all giving me 13 decimal places (ie. HD6950 = 1.1000000238419 V, instead of 1.1 V that it usually reports).
Obviously not a big deal, as I can trim that down on my end in php.

I never thought I would say this, but.... good job Luke.

I looked for your IPO that you had stated was already setup, but couldn't find it. Where can I send my BTC ?

Once again, I will ask.....

Perhaps you could post a link to your IPO that you are advertising all over the Net ?

I officially posted Deathbylollipop as an ipo on dev.glbse.com for all those interested in acquiring shares in our advertisement campaign. Considering the nature of the market currently I thought it would be a best to make a video encouraging private investors to get involved in the Deathbylollipop organization as a means for them to promote small business commerce. Enjoy
Watch on Youtube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UAx-uzdoUoE&feature=youtube_gdata

I have thousands of BTC to invest and I am interested in hearing more about your 'IPO' and what exactly will be backing the shares, as well as projected growth and where/how your 'company' intends to generate revenue to provide incentive for investors by way of dividend payments etc ?
What exactly will the IPO's funds be used for ?

Let's hear more about this.

Also i want to state we are operating as a non profit organization whose sole goal is to increase the popularity of the bitcoin and trading in general so any of the money donated to us for promotions will be used in furthering the concept that bitcoin trading and mining can be a fun and fast paced hobby.

You should also post more information about the registration of Non Profit Organization status in the state of Florida, to further help your cause.

1529  Economy / Computer hardware / WTB: 8port+ SATA/SAS RAID Card on: April 27, 2012, 12:07:00 AM
I am looking for an 8 port or larger SATA or SAS RAID Card.

I don't care what bus it is, as long as in the end it either supports PCIe or 32bit PCI.
(backwards compatible PCI-X/133 or 64bit PCI are fine if 32bit support exists, even at a performance loss)
This is for a home media server, so top-notch performance is not too important.

I would prefer an Intel hardware RAID processor that supports RAID 6 (Areca etc), but RAID 5 is fine, as that is all I plan to run anyways.
It does not need to support large Boot Volumes (as it will be for storage only), but it will need to support as a MINIMUM 6 TB (six terabyte) RAID 5 volumes and 3 TB (three terabyte) single SATA drives.

In a perfect world, on 8 ports, the plan is to run 1x 9TB RAID 5 array (4x 3TB drives) + 1x 6TB RAID 5 array (3x 3 TB) with a single 3TB common hot spare.
If I can find a 12 port card that fits the bill instead of an 8 port, I will probably WET myself.

**SILICON IMAGE CHIPSETS NEED NOT APPLY

I also will consider HBA's as long as Windows Server 2008 is supported and they are not Silicon Image/HiPoint etc. based.
Top tier chipsets/manufacturers only (Adaptec/3Ware/LSi or HP/Dell/IBM re-brand).....
RAID 5 support would still be required.

I don't care about cables or specific SAS interface (if SAS controller) as I have a ton of spares and can buy adapters to meet my needs if required, but I will only be using SATA drives......if that helps.

Let me know what you have and what you want for it.
I will need shipping to Calgary, AB, Canada.

Cheers,
bitlane.

Silverstone 3 bay 3.5" HDD Hot-Swap Cradle w/ CP05's (2 of these)
I assume they are these ?
http://www.amazon.com/SilverStone-CFP52B-5-25-Inch-Converter-Hot-Swappable/dp/B001NPEBEM

$60 (in BTC, shipped to Calgary, AB, Canada.) for both bays, including hotswap adapters providing they are complete with all hardware/mounting screws etc.

Wow! Good find! I couldn't find it, didn't try very hard though  Roll Eyes

Anyways, these aren't quite the same.

https://i.imgur.com/XT8AHl.jpg

They came out of a Temjin TJ11 build I did a bit ago. Were going to be relocated but ran out of room, oddly enough.

CRAP....
I have a couple of the ones I posted the link to already (with the front fan) and was hoping for a couple more matching.

Unfortunately, I am going to have to retract my offer.
Hope you understand.

If you are local and interested in trades, here are a few items that I am looking for:

- High End Analog Sound Card with swappable OP-AMPS (better than the average Auzentec, which I already have a couple of to play with).
- ECC REG DDR3 Memory, 4GB Sticks and larger.
- Phenom AM3 6 Core CPU.
- Anything LGA1366.....

I don't mind paying extra for a partial trade that suits my list above.

thanks,
bitlane.

I am doing a bit of Farm Maintenance and will have these 5 cards up for grabs in the next day or so, if there's interest.
I'm not desperate to sell, as these cards have paid for themselves already (I think ?).

Current Location: Calgary, AB. Canada.
Local Pickup: Definitely welcome (and price/preference given for not having to ship.....lol)
Price/Payment: BTC, Offers Welcome.

I would prefer to sell these as a single 5-card lot to a single buyer and not split them up, in order to save time.

Please PM me in case I don't check this thread as often as I should.

Included: 5 Cards + 5 PCIe Molex/6pin Power Adapters only. No other accessories, cables, no original boxes, nothing.....
NOT A COMPLETE RIG - CARDS ONLY.
Cards are approx 6-7 months old and I have never had a problem with them.

If someone has the means to get a 6 card rig up and running, I can also make a 6th matching card available, from one of my other rigs, as eventually, I will be parting with all of my 5830's, but will start out with these for now (and possibly the 6th card if required by a potential buyer).

Never overvloted. Always overclocked. Never overheated. Fans never 'pinned' at 100%, always variable, under 85% (CGMiner control) and under 70c.
Shown with a snapshot of my CGMiner monitoring app, Win7 x64, SDK 2.1, CAT 11.12.

Any chance for an update on the new features ?
It's been a while since we have heard from you. How are things proceeding ?

1535  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: pirateat40's end game on: April 25, 2012, 12:32:10 AM
There's one thing you forget about GPUMAX and that is all of the 'much more' talk......

You all assume that the reselling of GPU hashing time & rentals will apply to BITCOIN-ONLY.

Perhaps during the GPUMAX 'beta' Pirate is calculating exactly how much a Bitcoin Miner needs to make per/minute of GPU Lease time in order to re-sell that same hashing power for other ventures to the public ?

People need to stop being so narrow minded.

Do you honestly believe that Pirate has given anyone the impression that he is the 'put all of your eggs into one basket' kind of guy ?

To think that Bitcoin is the ONLY application for a service such as GPUMAX would be suicide for the developer(s) especially considering the time and money invested to bring such a platform online.

Think about that for a second Wink

Sorry.

This scam has already been done by the 'Bitcoin London' group.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=61366.0

The representative also had a much longer standing forum relationship with the community, had proof of doing promoting already and was into 'IT' much deeper than you currently are, yet he still managed to run away with everyone's Bitcoins and is in hiding now.

Good luck none the less.

WTF x2 ?

I wouldn't invest a dime or show any support for this nonsense.
Clearly we should all invest in your cause then, right ?
Paedophile lollipop video for bitcoins ? is that it ?

Why don't you get comfortable and build on your sub-50 post reputation before you start making judgements on other people's projects.....especially before YOU yourself start asking for donations in your sig.....fucking pathetic. Go get a job, stop begging for nothing.

Good luck with that. (Nevermind me, just wanted to get the first post in right after pirate's last.)

Hi MPOE-PR,

Once again you prove that you add no value to the conversation. On top of that, you lessen your own value by attacking others. I hope that you take the following advice to heart.

Think twice before you post something.

This simple piece of information may actually help you become a better participant on these forums. Only time will tell if you are able to learn and grow.

Best,
gigavps

Frankly this upsets me, because I would like to think that I add the least to any conversation and if MPOE-PR is making a run at my job, then he just made my shit-list Wink

Kudos to hashking for getting the ball rolling on this, although I would have expected the hardware development/marketing team to at the very least, match his (hashking's) share of the bounty.

I'd have to say, this definitely sends me some mixed signals in regards to confidence in this FPGA project...... and who feels more of it.

fizzisist, don't take this the wrong way, but, you are being given the opportunity to open up usage of your product to larger farm miners who use CGMiner exclusively, due to it's network/monitoring functionality....not to mention, have a good chunk of the bounty paid by other people....not to mention, future maintenance allowing you to dump your software all together if desired.
While the 20 BTC offer you made is 'nice'....What is stopping YOU from offering a direct-from-manufacturer severely discounted unit for development purposes ?

Am I really off-base on this one ?
