1541  Other / Off-topic / Re: Does Mariana Web really exist? on: December 19, 2019, 05:22:56 AM

What makes news source reputable? Even largest news agencies and sites post a sensationalist bullshit written by someone who is not an expert on the subject. Ask me. I have been 15+ years in internet underground. I seen everything. Warez FTP sites with TBs of scene releases. Botnet IRC control channels with tens of thousands of active clients. Most famous clearnet hacking forums as well as forums in .onion Marketplaces in Tor and their administrative panels or databases with sales and messages. Also 95% of murderers on those marketplaces were fakes, who will ask for money and not deliver. There was one exception who used escrow and was verified as legit. But it was one legit from hundreds of scammers.

But I never seen neither Marianas web, red rooms, .closed domains or something other.

Do tell more..

The only things I have ever found interesting on the darknet was reading alphabay forums and some interesting sources of reading material like .pdf rare books..
No other .onion forums/chans I have ever found were worth a shit for anything..

I wouldn't worry about it too much TS..
Personal vendetta tags by lauda are just a badge of honor..

attempt to read, organize to understand
I have.. I have been following this topic of conversation from it's origination, since before it was even moved to this particular thread, and many previous semi-related topics.. I believe you will find that this topic originated there in the link (OG stealing from passthrough)..
But you know, I would not claim myself to be a foremost expert on blockchain investigation, so it is possible my understanding is faulty, no matter my personal efforts, though my efforts have been great, including the effort to make this post..

However..
philipma1957 is more trustworthy than me or any other user commenting here, according to me personally, and I also trust him to have among the highest level of blockchain expertise to decipher this evidence..
I also don't see anyone here daring to accuse him of anything character or motive related, therefore I find it quite reasonable for me to accept his findings as highly accurate, logical, and neutral..

still it seems that og did not get the other 1400.

A) no one has come to the plate and said they were not refunded.

B) no one has shown he got 2500 coins paid back.

C) pirate may have  misstated he fully paid Ognasty during statements quoted in the thread.
i looked and looked and look and i dont see this.

i see a partial payment which ognasty  paid in under an hour to investors .

if you can show me more then the three payments you showed which add to under 1200 btc

meaning ognasty was shorted around 1300 btc.

if you find the payments for that 1300,which i cant. you would have something.

What evidence we have here seems to show, with quite great magnitude of certainty IMO, that OG's pirate passthrough was not fully paid out by pirate..
This shows me that their is very little reason to believe that OG lied about being fully "reimbursed", or I would rather say "paid out" by Pirate..

so 144 coins.

did not he repeatedly state he invested coins .

he did. lots of posts show he said he put coins into this pirate club.

so now you need to prove those 144 coins belonged to whomever.

.......

so did he simply keep that as it was what he invested?

1. Their is no proof.. Only a dead end.. But many here seem to believe that proof is not required, contrary to my and philipma1957's opinion, which is what creates this great divide in the community, between those who require proof to come to a solid conclusion, and those who do not..
Our only choice is to either agree to disagree on the necessity of proof, or argue on forever.. I think I am in the "agree to disagree" camp, seeing as this will most likely just be left unsolved..
I don't see how this could be any more respectable on my part than that..

2. These coins being OG's share of the partial reimbursement and him rightfully keeping them is just as logical of a hypothesis as him "stealing" them, and IMO more likely due to OG's most excelent track record of handling great amounts of funds over many many years, if he even kept them at all..

OGNasty's word > pirate's word 100% IMO, and the fact that statements were made to the police or any government agents only makes them less credible, also IMO..

OG stole BCH - fact.
What basis do you have for this claim? Link please?
The thread I linked at the top of this post clearly proves that he did not steal BHC, unless you are thinking of some other unrelated incident I am yet unaware of.. But I welcome any evidence you may be able to share..
1544  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Ponzi.wtf, a self admitted ponzi scheme. on: December 18, 2019, 01:01:17 AM
a ponzi is a MLM schem
False..

"Ponzi schemes are based on fraudulent investment management services—basically, investors contribute money to the "portfolio manager" who promises them a high return, and then when those investors want their money back, they are paid out with the incoming funds contributed by later investors. The person organizing this type of fraud is in charge of controlling the entire operation"

"A pyramid scheme, on the other hand, is structured so that the initial schemer must recruit other investors who will continue to recruit other investors"

"a pyramid scheme differs from a multi-level marketing campaign, which offers legitimate products."
https://www.investopedia.com/ask/answers/09/ponzi-vs-pyramid.asp

No products here so not MLM, no pyramid of recruiters so no pyramid scheme, no deception or fraud so not really even a "ponzi"..

I'm not sure if this can even be called a "ponzi" in the absence of any fraud..
Ponzi-like game?

All you need to find is one referral link that does not state it is a ponzi, and your argument is void.  :/
What is he going to do? Create a ref link to a fake website that doesn't say it's a ponzi?
Then the deceiver is the scammer..
1545  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Ponzi.wtf, a self admitted ponzi scheme. on: December 18, 2019, 12:39:15 AM
This is not a product sale, so you can not apply that logic here.
Exactly, so your wiki article does not apply..
Can you apply any logic here other than just asserting your statements are true?

Ponzi Scheme is a Ponzi Scheme and a FRAUD even if you tell the truth about it.
A fraud even if the truth is honestly told eh? Including reviewable code run on a decently trusted blockchain?

"The basic premise of a Ponzi scheme is "to rob Peter to pay Paul".
But their is no peter to be robbed, only voluntary players..

I'm looking for a good logical reason that this is a scam or fraud..
Logic is the fun of it..
1546  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Ponzi.wtf, a self admitted ponzi scheme. on: December 17, 2019, 11:40:14 PM
Ponzi scheme is by definition ''a form of fraud that lures investors and pays profits to earlier investors with funds from more recent investors''
source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ponzi_scheme

Further quote from same link..
"The scheme leads victims to believe that profits are coming from product sales or other means (it does not), and they remain unaware that other investors are the source of funds. (not in this case)"
Which does not apply here..

So what is a non-fraudulent ponzi?
Can it technically still even be a "ponzi" if it isn't fraudulent?
Do you see any fraud here?
1547  Other / Off-topic / Re: Does Mariana Web really exist? on: December 17, 2019, 11:04:29 PM
I think that pic is basically a 4chan joke meme, but their are some interesting things on the darknet..
Subscribing and merited..
1548  Other / Meta / Re: [WORKING] LoyceV's alternative for Piggy's @mention notification bot on: December 17, 2019, 08:55:42 PM
You could probably consider eddie13 idea as well.

A "clear" button could also be nice, to "clear" my notifications page of all the read content and wipe it clean..
As far as maggiordomo is concerned, it just spammed by inbox and I am still deleting all those which I have replied to. But since the pages are published publicly, instead of a clear button auto-deletion of the whole webpage after 90 days - 120 days might be a better alternative so that we could trash all the notifications once we have read that or replied to.

I have noticed that after clicking the links that they turn purple instead of blue, so that is an effective enough placemarker for me now, especially that I have changed it to "justlinks"..

And I think it only keeps 7 days of notifications available?

It's looking good LoyceV!

It's a pretty good read..

And a news source..

I think he is correct on basically all of it and as he says it is a disgrace..
A "witch hunt" it surely has been..

Discuss after reading..
1550  Other / Meta / Re: To the attention of the Mods and Admins, account farms abusing bounty. on: December 17, 2019, 06:23:21 PM
I hope there will be reaction from the staff soon and probably some good changes preventing this shit from happening again as well.
Perhaps evil points can help us.
After all of these accounts are banned, the evil points of IP (or IPs) associated with these accounts will increase significantly. Then they will have to pay for registering new accounts.

Just creating all the accounts should rack up evil fees.. I wonder how this bot is able to create all these accounts, as he must be jumping to fresh and clean IPs, paying the evil fees, or something..
1551  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is Global Warming Real? on: December 17, 2019, 04:05:01 PM
I have to admit to liking the spaghetti charts (lower right).

Because someone will throw that at you and say something like ...

"See? See it! It's right there!!!"

In that chart the lines are the climate models predictions, and the circles and squares lower on the chart are what the actual observations turned out to be..
Basically shows that they predict(ed) warming and it doesn't(didn't) happen..

Do you think that if I labeled the charts "Proof Of Global Warming" then they would run around posting it as proof of their position unknowingly? I bet some would, lol..
1552  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Ponzi.wtf, a self admitted ponzi scheme. on: December 17, 2019, 01:08:17 PM
How exactly is a ponzi a scam if they state right upfront that they are a ponzi?
I understand and agree that they are scams when they try to disguise their ponzi as some sort of investment or doubler, but if they basically say "this is a ponzi, gamble if you wish", how is that a scam?

"Warning. This is a game and not an investment. If you play you might lose money. Or you might win..."
"If nobody else buys in then you are out of luck and you will have to cash out for a loss."
"The smart contract is fixed and immutable on the Ethereum blockchain. Anybody can audit the code and confirm the behavior. See the links in the helpful links section for source code and contract details"

Seems pretty honest to me actually..
Just about as much of a scam as any casino, maybe even less than many..

What is your reasoning that an honest ponzi, on a blockchain, and you can even review the source code?
"This contract will live as long as the Ethereum blockchain is running"

Wouldn't that even be equivalent to a "provably fair" casino?

Do you figure any of these statements by them are lies?

relative honesty ....  But that doesn't change anything.
Why doesn't it change anything?

Investment is still dangerous.
So?
It may even be less dangerous than investing in most of the ICOs..
1553  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is Global Warming Real? on: December 17, 2019, 12:11:15 PM
Well, if you want to see some proof about global waming you should take a look at the max temp in the last years.

Mind if I drop a couple of these here?

Search "crypto security law 2018" and you will remember that their was a lot of legal drama about crypto stuff and "securities" back then.. Could he have changed the wording due to evolving legalities?

Twitchy I have read the transcripts and looked through your blockchain links.. Sure you have holes and dead ends in ancient blockchain research for speculation of what could have happened, but I don't see any real proof of anything, just theories..

I'm done looking for proof here where their is none, so I will leave you to your echochamber VS TS..
I feel like I'm just being trolled on this topic..

Maybe PM me if someone finds something important and serious with proof because that's the only thing I am going to believe..
Or if the following ever changes I'll be real interested to know why..

What freedom and liberty? The freedom to shoot and kill anybody at will?

Ok, you are just a troll..

I didn't say it was a possible lie, I said it was a lie.

possibility.

 Huh
Really?

Why do I have to beg for proof of anything?
Even a mere lie and no proof?

Ya'll are making me frustrated..

1558  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Solutions on: December 16, 2019, 08:02:28 PM
So, you think those statistics matter to the less than 1%?

Probably to many of them still..
I highly doubt a freak accident would change my views enough to reject freedom and liberty..
1559  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: OgNasty Ponzi passthrough and ponzi fans.. BTC losses everywhere he goes on: December 16, 2019, 07:41:04 PM
Back on topic..

Og apparently lied about ever being reimbursed by pirate
Its not just "because Pirate said so." You're not really paying attention here. I didn't say it was a possible lie, I said it was a lie. Considering what was at stake, that's a huge difference.

I agree that is a huge difference..

I'm sorry, I must have missed it..
Does the blockchain show that OG's pirate passthrough was fully reimbursed by pirate? I don't think it did, did it?
All I can make of this is that pirate told the cops he fully reimbursed OG so it is just pirate's word VS OG's word (and the blockchain)..
And seeing how pirate's word isn't very good and all.. Eh..

Anyone?
