1581  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 - September 17 on: September 17, 2022, 11:20:44 AM
Although I really want GGG want to win the fight to finally get his dream revenge to Canelo but I’m Canelo already learned his lesson on his defeat against Bivol and Boxer with this kind of caliber will not gonna fall on same mistake. That is not weakness but rather just a mistake on there side for not preparing properly for Bivol because they underestimated the guy. I’m sure this fight will be closed but my bet will still go to Canelo this time because I always take priority the age on Boxing especially if both fighters has a great records.

I noticed an interesting thing about this fight: Golovkin can win, but most likely only by knockout - he is too old to last the whole distance of the fight and win on points. If Canelo wins, it is likely that his advantage in the fight will result in Golovkin getting knocked out before the end of the fight. So, based on these considerations, it seems to me that a bet on total 11.5 under with odds of 2.45 looks very profitable.

Old but not too old mate, don't underestimate GGG, he might have aged but he still has the power. If we believe hat he is too old, then there's no chance that he can knock out a strong Canelo Alvarez. We will see this fight tomorrow, I can't wait to watch this big fight, hopefully, it's another entertaining fight.
1582  Economy / Economics / Re: "Be your own Bank with Bitcoin" - A reminder why this is so important! on: September 16, 2022, 09:37:46 PM
https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/woman-holds-up-lebanese-bank-13000-her-own-money-advocacy-group-says-2022-09-14/

" One woman with a gun and some associates briefly held hostages at a branch of BLOM Bank (BLOM.BY) in the capital Beirut, before leaving with more than $13,000 in cash from her account.... "

" Lebanon's banks have locked most depositors out of their savings since an economic crisis took hold three years ago, leaving much of the population unable to pay for basics. "

Let's just imagine this scenario where you have to "rob" a Bank to get access to your own money that you deposited with them. We think these things are impossible, but it is happening and this is a reminder that it does still happen.  Angry

Bitcoin allows you to be your OWN Bank .....and it allows you to have access to your own money, without any intermediary having the power to block it. Just make sure that you have sole access to your Private keys.  Wink
Unfortunately, banks these days are not reliable anymore. They can be very entertaining at the time when we are depositing, but when we decide to suddenly withdraw our funds, most likely they will make it hard for us. I'm not pertaining to all the banks, but there are really few banks who are acting like this. Im just saddened with what the woman go through just to get her own money. If its in bitcoin, this won't be happening to her as bitcoin serves as our own bank and that's why its fully decentralized.
1583  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Terra Luna Classic pumping - can it last? on: September 16, 2022, 09:06:24 PM
I am fairly new to crypto and in July I took a gamble on terra luna classic when it was 0.00009 and it is now pumping. Can someone explain why this is and what the chances of it lasting are?

I have been following it more closely over the last week as it has began getting more and more attention and apparently a lot is happening over the next few weeks which is driving the price up currently but not sure what it all means?

How realistic are the chances of it reaching $0.01 or $0.10 and how long will this take? Months or years?

I am not selling just yet but this is seeing the best returns I have had in crypto so far so may take out my investment soon and let the profit ride.
This kind of growth is going to be impossible to sustain, I'm happy that your gamble is paying off but that is all what you should think about it, it was a gamble and you were able to win it, you should not get so greedy to think that Luna classic is going to reach those kind of prices, be happy with the profits that you got and move on, now you ask why is this happening? But most likely there is not a specific reason for this, and this is simply the result of speculators pumping the price.
Terra Luna is only pumping due to hype but when its over, expect that its price will gradually drop again and become less valuable. Well, this is just my own speculation about this coin, i may be wrong in the end. But in most cases, it hard to see sustainable growth when you are investing in a meme coin or a shitcoin, unlike in bitcoin there's always a guaranteed and proven growth that appears when the market recovers.
1584  Economy / Speculation / Re: Does anyone think it will be much harder to buy bitcoin later on down the road? on: September 16, 2022, 07:38:58 PM
Title.

Hi all.

Just wanted everyone's thoughts on how easy it is to get bitcoin now, and what getting bitcoin might be like in the future? For example, I can simply go on cashapp and buy btc, send to a wallet I own the keys to. I can also use localbitcoins, paxful, I mean the list is kinda endless. Will that list become...not so endless in the future as the value gets higher?
I guess it all depends. If there will be bitcoin global adoption in the future, then even if the price gets higher, there will always be legit exchanges that will support it and make it easier for us to purchase every now and then. However, when the opposite thing happens, like when the government starts to be strict on bitcoin and there will be banning in most of the countries, probably it will also be hard on our part to look for legit exchanges that will continue to support bitcoin.
1585  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Well! Bitcoin doesn't have this problem on: September 15, 2022, 09:55:43 PM
As I looking at some news today, I saw this one that has the same problem with the other banks all around the world where they sometimes restrict you to get your own money and they ask you for some valid reason which not all people needed to do because first of all, it is his/her money. Some people are forced to do this stuff when if only she had bitcoins, she wouldn't have put her life in danger or anyone else. she could just withdraw wherever she wants.

For how long should people understand the importance to have bitcoins for emergencies such as this one?

That’s the consequence if people keep trusting on banks and they think that there finances will be more secured with them. But the reality is, they are just using our money to lend to some big investors and the bank benefits the big interest while only a little one go to our savings account. And add to it that when people decides to withdraw all of their funds, banks will make it difficult for them. However, bitcoin is not like that. You can have as much as bitcoin as you want, and you can withraw and spend them anytime and anywhere you want as there are already local exchanges in every country.
1586  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is going to a the bitcoin conference worth it? on: September 15, 2022, 09:34:11 PM
Hey so im still fairly new to the space, ive been investing for about 7 month now and thought about going to a conference. im not to social of a person but i feel like it would be a good opportunity to just be around the environment. Has anyone been to one? and do you think its a valuable experience?

If you have knowledge about bitcoin then going on conference is just a waste of your time because for sure they will just tell you the basics and the history of bitcoin. But if you don't know about it better start with it since somehow you can gain knowledge with them, but make sure that you go on legitimate conference where main intention is to educate people about bitcoin and not those scam platform who hype people then offer scams.
It will always bring a positive experience attending a conference because even if you know you are knowledgeable enough, you can still gain additional information there and you will hear from others their different experiences in bitcoin. That way, you can share to others too what you have in your mind. Of course, before attending such conference, confirm it first if it’s legit or not so you won’t be wasting your time and effort.
1587  Economy / Economics / Re: What define your success, "money, fame or achievement"? on: September 14, 2022, 09:28:18 PM
Success to me is something that I feel financially stable and my source of income is solid for a long-term period.

It's not about having your own big house, cars, expensive stuff, and everything.

Those things I have mentioned are rewards for being smart and hard working wisely. Smiley
For we are living in this world which considers money as the most vital and become very necessary in a person’s life, then it’s always important that we should be financially stable at all times. And just thinking of this, I end up feeling secured and contented. So even if I don’t have luxury things in life, as long as I don’t live poorly, then that makes me happy and successful in life.
1588  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can trading be likened to gambling and how so? on: September 13, 2022, 09:59:28 PM
No they are two different things and can't be likened to each other. Gambling depends totally on luck. You either win or lose. You bet and hope that you win. In the long run, you will always lose since the casino will always have an edge. But trading is totally different. You take decisions. You can know what might happen in the future if you do proper analysis. If you are doing it right, you will be making profit in the long run trading. Sure it can be a form of gambling if you don't know what you are doing and just buying low and selling high with the hope of making profit.
Both have the same risk of losing but these two are totally different. If you trade with high knowledge and skills, most likely you will be profitable and gain decent amount of profits. While in gambling, even if you prepared a lot and gained a lot of knowledge and skills in gambling, you cannot expect for a positive outcome in the end. Gambling is a game of chance and luck, so if you don’t have that luck every time you gamble, losing will always be inevitable. Though sports betting is more on skills, but the rest of the games are played on luck based.
1589  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Things to keep in mind before accumulation of Bitcoin on: September 13, 2022, 09:38:43 PM
1: Use Dollar Cost Averaging (DCA) Technique:
In Bitcoin accumulation, this is very important.
In the DCA way of buying Bitcoin, you can minimize your possible loss because you only purchase Bitcoin when it will drop.  Buying a little by little using this method, will surely your investment becomes profitable when there's a new ATH.

All in all, OP has good input, and newbies should know this and educate themselves when it comes to accumulating Bitcoin.
It's a complete process of accumulating Bitcoin.
Not only for bitcoin, but also in all established coins in the crypto market, DCA is still very applicable. But since bitcoin is the most highly volatile one, then using DCA in accumulating bitcoin will surely work so far. I have been DCAing since the start of the bearish market, and it definitely helps me not to be worried with small price drops. And the fact that I’m into bitcoin for long term investment, that motivates me to never be affected with temporary price decline.
1590  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: It Is Dangerous To Completely Rely On Cryptocurrencies on: September 12, 2022, 09:59:09 PM
Investing in cryptocurrencies is now viewed as normal and the use is now getting popularised to almost every young person growing up in the modern day to prosper financially. Even the young people who initially missed the opportunity have grown interest in it and are using it to support themselves.

With all of this taking place, I want to emphasize that purchasing and investing in bitcoin, which is undoubtedly the best cryptocurrency, does not guarantee that you will be completely sustained for the rest of your life. Consider it a reliable side business that you can use to supplement your primary income when it suffers delays or to supplement to cover up for your daily expenses.

Some people have lost their lives as a result of completely depending on cryptocurrencies due to the unexpected market downturn. Some people even committed suicide as a result of the last big decline in cryptocurrency’s price in the market. Whatever happens to you in this life, it doesn't justify ending it on your own.

For beginners, it is advised before investing in cryptocurrencies to do your own research on the subject. Check the historical performance of those who have profited from it and those who have not, this will provide you with a forecast. With this, you can plan your investment and get a solid profit over the long term. Keep in mind that this is not a quick money-making scheme, conduct your own study and invest only after full understanding and knowledge.

Yes it’s totally dangerous if you start investing without proper knowledge and skills achieved. Because the fact that crypto investments are high risks, then you should always be cautious and careful on all your decisions and future moves because that will tell if you can be successful or not. Otherwise, you might end up wasting your money and efforts because you only see crypto investments as quick source of profits, when in fact it’s not how these crypto works.
1591  Economy / Speculation / Re: Purchased at $23,500, when should I start to panic? When should I average down? on: September 12, 2022, 09:35:47 PM
I think I made a mistake buying at $23,500 (obviously), so when should I really start to panic now that we dropped to $18K?

At what price point now should I consider to add more to average in at? Like, if you owned a bitcoin at $23,500, would you wait for $10K or 15K to start adding more to average in your high price of $23,500?

Either you are new to this Crypto industry or really impatient dude.
I mean what’s the use of panicking? It’s normal Bitcoins to fall in it’s price. If you don’t know how the market works then better you should avoid money investments.
You are fearing and that too when you have BTC in your wallet. Just do a quick search on the internet about the marketcap of Bitcoins. That is enough to prove Bitcoin’s power my friend.
Just don’t panic always. Hold the coins for at least a month and then see the profits.
You should have known the price volatility of bitcoin before you decide to invest. That way, you will be aware that panicking will never be helpful at all. However, investing in bitcoin is mostly profitable than seeing it as more of losses. But if you keep on fearing and panicking every time bitcoin price drops, then expect that you will never experience profits as it takes a lot of courage and patience before you will gain profits.
1592  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 - September 17 on: September 11, 2022, 12:00:05 PM
GGG ok it's going to be hard to predict how he's going to fight at 40. On the other side is a Canelo who came from defeat. I think GGG will be in the ring fit and in good condition. Will they go to desicion or in the match here or will either of them break one of them. I think Canelo can do it, Tko. But I don't think the match will end with TKO. I think there are a lot of parameters that will be a good trilogy, I think both of them will not play risky, they will play each other equally to the points. Good fight night GG.
Most of the experts predicted that this fight will go to the judges' scorecards, or if there's a KO, it should be Canelo winning the fight. Yes, GGG is already 40 years old, but is it right to call him old? I don't think so, he won his previous fight and I'm sure he still has a lot to offer and he can entertain us in this fight.

This could be his retirement fight if he losses, so hopefully he will not.

A fight against Thurman would be great, and I think Thurman will win and that would make him one of the top contenders to fight the champion. Imagine, if the fight of Spence vs Crawford will not happen, then we can still see Thurman fighting one of them if the promoter will agree.
1594  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: September 11, 2022, 10:29:56 AM

NLEX wasn't really a popular team. It's always the TNT or Meralco which usually goes to the finals, so they don't need a good coach I believe. Well, coach Yeng was good but I think he was not given everything he needs, the reason why his team was underperforming.

Agree with that as they didn't make it to the NBA Finals, so there's not much to expect from this team.

The popular teams in the NBA are as follows based IMO.

1-SMB
2-Ginebra
3-Magnolia

4-TNT
5-Meralco

NLEX supposed to be popular so both owners will have 3 teams that are a championship contender.
1595  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: September 10, 2022, 12:57:11 PM
So Coach Luigi Trillio is one of the candidates of becoming the head coach of the team and I think it's expected (at least for me) knowing how he handled the Bolts last playoffs. We also saw Coach Jong who has been a head coach in PBA years ago. No idea who the 3rd coach is since he is in the UAAP and I'm not watching UAAP games.

Most likely Dulatre's job will be very short because they will find a more experience coach to head the coaching job, however, there's still plenty of time for coach Dulatre to prove to the management that he is deserving to be the head coach, I'm sure that's also his mind as no one would want an assistant coach forever.

That's a challenge for him, he was given a chance now to coach NLEX, so his performance is very important to pass the expectation of the management. if he can make this team successful, there's no reason for the management to look for a new coach, even if it's a popular coach, or even if it's coach Tab.  Grin

By Brian Webber: Top Rank promoter Bob Arum says he’s already spoken to Devin Haney and his father Bill Haney about fighting Vasyl Lomachenko next. The Haney’s are agreeable to taking on Lomachenko as long as they get past their next opponents.

Source: https://www.boxingnews24.com/2022/09/devin-haney-agreeable-to-fighting-vasyl-lomachenko-says-bob-arum/

Great news, now, is the camp of Lomachenko willing to take the challenge? It's going to be a big fight this year for sure, I think selling this fight would not be hard and it's going to be 50-50 or 60-40 in our favorite bookies. Anyway, without minding the betting odds, I think this fight is worth to wait for.
1597  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Queen Elizabeth and Cryptocurrency on: September 09, 2022, 09:58:13 PM

She is 96. She had seen a lot of sufferings in her time. I guess she's lucky enough not to see more of the sufferings that are to come. RIP Queen Elizabeth.

But damn!  Anything can be monetized these days with meme tokens even the death of the Queen.
If  blockchain was already alive when Micheal Jackson died, the internet will be full of meme coins already with his image doing the moonwalk. It was sort of a debate during that time when Micheal's death was monetized by spreading articles about the controversial death.
Creating some memes that have been derived from the name of the queen was quite unrespectful for me. It’s only a day has passed from the passing of the queen and yet, these meme coins have already been making some noise in the crypto market. Though business is business, but maybe these meme coins are bound to end up in failures maybe because they don’t create good beginnings from the start.
1598  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will the price of bitcoin rise again? on: September 09, 2022, 09:34:13 PM
One thing to mention in particular was the bear market a few days ago. Then the price of Bitcoin has decreased due to the market being down. But now, despite being in a bull market, why is the price of Bitcoin decreasing now? Hope the experienced will tell.
I think it's only natural to see bitcoin's price going down now because bitcoin has gone through very high gains before and this is a cycle that bitcoin has been going through for years. Maybe the reason is different for each time the increase and decreases occur, making us wonder what causes the price to rise and fall as it is now. But after this decline, bitcoin will rise again and there is a possibility that it will surpass the previous high ATH. So be patient and keep trying to buy when the price is still low so you will have the opportunity to sell bitcoin at the highest price later.
Bitcoin has definitely its own flaws too so expect that it has its own time to grow and prosper and definitely its own lows and price fall backs. And right now, since we are still in a bear market condition, bitcoin is expected to have struggles too in reaching all time highs. The reason why it’s price keeps on falling back in spite of sudden price increase. But one thing is certain, once bull season is here, bitcoin is bound to reach new all time high again.
1599  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is trading gambling in another form? on: September 09, 2022, 08:32:34 PM
Some people may talk like that, but I think trading and gambling are very different. Trades have an agreed consensus analysis even though they already have an agreement that takes the form of a sell or buy order. So they have agreed and it is very different from gambling. Gambling or betting is usually only armed with a lucky guess. So trading is not gambling, but it can be trading into gambling because it does without analysis and only based on guesses.
Trading and gambling are likely to be seen as the same because both have high risks. But if you are a pro trader, your trading may likely to be more profitable than seeing it fall on gambling. The only reason you think trading is gambling because you trade without knowledge and preparation, pushing you to trade without good market analysis. In the end, trading looks like gambling since you fall onto losses rather than gaining profits. However, with gambling, no matter how good you are in that certain game, gambling will always be luck based and pure guesses.
1600  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Spreading Bitcoin and its basic concept on: September 09, 2022, 07:50:53 PM
some countries are already aware of the huge advantages of the bitcoin tax so they are now starting to campaign with bitcoin one of which is my country has now started to legalize a crypto mining because the government is starting to feel the big benefits of this crypto tax, actually you can do the same thing introducing bitcoin to people around you but as a suggestion you also need to learn a lot from this forum, many of them have interesting experiences for you to follow
Though there are already countries who are starting to understand the benefits of bitcoin, but I believe the majority are still in opposition of bitcoin simply because they never come to understand bitcoin itself. And good thing OP you are making it easier for people to understand since you are spreading facts about bitcoin. I hope your  own goal will be attained in the end and for sure with the help of this forum, you will gain more knowledge and different experiences from the people that will be very helpful in pursuing your goal.
