1681  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why you should be buying Qora. on: August 13, 2014, 09:08:10 PM
Qora to NXT is like Litecoin to Bitcoin.

Bitcoin and NXT have first mover advantage to Litecoin and Qora respectively.
That's why Litecoin is going down, although it's massively undervalued compared to Bitcoin, even though they are technically the same.

Qora is not even technically the same as NXT, as it doesn't offer anything new compared to NXT and even lacks the features NXT already has. Voting feature doesn't bring any value as it turns out, well, it's nice to have when setting up polls for asset holders, but Qora doesn't even have AE yet to make use of the Voting feature, and given how long it takes to develop AE and make it run smoothly if we observe NXT development progress, I doubt it will come in the next month, maybe we'll see AE in Qora in October. This explains why the price of Qora is staying so low. Why would holders of NXT switch to Qora under the above listed circumstances really escapes me. Remember that the PoW crowd is sticking with their PoW toys, they consider PoS cryptos a scam. I own a little Qora, it's a nice backup and I like that I can close the wallet recently without making the blockchain corrupt, so there is definately progress, as to how fast it is, we shall see. I am not attacking Qora, just explaining why I think its price is staying low.

AE is about to be released in a few days not October.

My service is to the wise not fools. Anyone with an ounce of sense will be checking out the wallets I mentioned instead of believing this Wulfcastle idiot etc.

Ok.. looks like you are angry at Wulf because of the past experience you have had with him. That being said, he already said he is not with the CRYPTI team. Furthermore, you are creating FUD that you cannot proof...

Please show me the similarity of the wallet of BC / SILK and Crypti.

do it yourself, I dont care if you lose money. But you should.

You were the one who made the claim, and you should be the one who supports it. If you cannot support what you said, you are just creating FUD.

Simple logic.

Logic says I lose nothing, but you will if I'm right. Logics a bitch.

Blackcoin and Silkcoin are well known coins google them fool.

please don't sell your coins until I can dump this scam shit first.  Grin

Best if you check the PM:

You welcome to check the (slightly outdated) demo here:

Also check the Twitter announcement from Bter yesterday:

They worked with a testnet node for the last week.

You know Silkcoin had 'code' right?

Problem was it was Blackcoins code.

Either you are part of this scam or you are gonna look really stupid soon.

Obvious fudders are trying to drag down the price because they missed out.

You should be ashamed of yourself for not thinking clearly, I've seen you on Qora. I have been active there, you know a real coin that actually exists.

ETA on release? This is the second day now where you've delayed launch. Some may think that I'm being unreasonable here, but I'm being realistic. You had 30 days since the start of the IPO to iron out bugs, but all we've seen over the last two days is delay after delay.

You say you are checking the matter with Bitseed. Was in not Bitseed who was tasked with setting up the forum? Instead of spending such a huge amount of time on the forum, why couldn't you have spent this time rather on actually getting everything ready for release?

Secondly you mentioned there won't be any cross platform installer and we are expected to build the sources ourselves. But then you go on to mention that you are in contact with Coinsource to review the code, how about instead of spending time pushing PR releases, first finish developing Crypti for launch?

You guys seen to have your priorities mixed up, and everything currently is being done at the last minute. You had over 21 days after the IPO closed to prepare everything for launch, to ensure that it went smoothly, but we are sitting here close to two days after the launch was supposed to occur and it doesn't look like it's going to happen anytime tonight.

Your organisational skills need to improve going forward, because frankly as an investor this doesnt instill much confidence at all.

First of all, I'd like to apologize for the delay. While I understand the frustration, ensuring that we release a stable product is our top priority.
Despite multiple checks and load testing performed over last few weeks, launching a new mainnet with a real genesis data is quite a complicate task on it's own.

We are well aware that we beyond the schedule here, and asking for community patience and understanding, while we finalize the remaining tasks.

As per your comments:
* Testnet passed our load-tests last week and worked stably (otherwise we would announce delay in advance)
* The delay yesterday was due to our wish to verify the genesis balance with Bter (something we could indeed do earlier)
* The delay right now is due to seeing PoS results in mainnet we haven't seen in testnet, and our decision to analyze it before letting everyone else in
* Bitseed is our lead of research and developed, simulated and tested the PoS formulas, forum is a misc task that he did
* While we do wanted to have a cross-platform installer ready in time for launch, we have not committed to it. We don't expect anyone to build Window wallets themselves, and plan to release a cross-platform installer by the end of the week
* CoinSource will confirm our real-life identities, I'm not sure where it was said they will review the code. We going to hire a professional (and known) crypto-developer, to do the code auditing and analysis
* We said several times that PR and other activities will be only after launch
* It may seem that we doing all in last minute, however there is a well defined list of tasks that were closed before this moment (here is a partial screenshot - http://take.ms/AMenM)
* Once we launch, we will welcome any feedback about our organization and management, as we always looking to improve

To summarize, we understand we are delayed, and we are not taking it easy.
The development team works non-stop right now on these last minute issues, in order to release the mainnet version ASAP.

I'll translate this for you.

Who wants to make a bet on this being a scam or not? I'll do escrow.

Can I just say like I did many times for Silkcoin. You guys are special. I mean who buys a coin that says it's a new source code but has the same wallet as Blackcoin, and of course Silkcoin. Hilarious. You guys..

What's your proof?
the same wallet as Blackcoin, and of course Silkcoin

I just told you. What do you want me to do draw you a picture?

Look I'm not going to pretend to know everyone's past experience with cryptos... But Crypti is blazing new paths and with that comes hang-ups... This is not just a copy coin... Give them time to work it all out... this is only a problem if you make it one..

See everything you said should set alarm bells ringing. there is nothing probably new about this coin. You have been TOLD it's new but so far what have you seen. Did you  see a source code, a wallet? What you saw was talk. You will lose in this game my friend.

I'll refer you to Silkcoin the last scam by this team.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=599438.0

Dude gtfo, this is nothing like Silkcoin and it is not done by any of the same people... the identity of the Silkcoin scam "dev" was released and it does not match any of the identities of the people working on this project... they don't even hail from the same continent... I love when FUDers so clearly demonstrate their own idiocy right from the get-go.

well if you say it's not a scam then I guess I'm wrong (shakes head)

Status update

We have launched the mainnet, however noticed a slight issue with the PoS formula.

Checking the matter with Bitseed now.

How could you possibly be involved in this just like you were with Silkcoin?

It's exactly the same with a different name, you got to be in on the scam. You denied it then and I guess you will deny it now. You are the most established scammer on BTT.

Crypti is a scam from the Silkcoin team.

What are you think about Stellar?  Roll Eyes

Stellar is using a completely different approach than QORA. So it is not really a competitor. Intresting nontheless.

It's a Ripple clone and I'm guessing you are trying to spread positive vibes about it.

I wondering if its the good moment to buy or wait for a prospective dump

No one knows the future but I would say this is the best time to buy. Any-day now Qora will release AE and after that I doubt we will see the price as low as now.
1695  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Qora | Released 16 May | 100% POS | New Source on: July 31, 2014, 08:15:09 PM
Any update on this coin? I bought in just for the heck of it and havn't been following since. What is happening. Price looks low.

I just cant see it going any lower. The buy side is starting to build up now. I think AE will be a stimulus to push the price upward. Its criminally under valued imo.

Agreed, I wasn't going to buy anymore, but it's impossible not to at the moment.  Do you ever visit the chat? Or the Official Forum? You're opinions would definitely liven things up Smiley

A sloth on Benzodiazepines would liven Qora Chat up.
1696  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: To all who claim 'fair distribution' is not possible in a PoS, only in PoW... on: July 31, 2014, 09:22:28 AM
take a step back for a minute. You are saying that the fair way to distribute a new currency is to give it to a specialised group of people that have special skills and expensive computers rather than just distribute is over as many people as possible?

Tell me of a new currency was introduced in a country today how would it happen? The banks would swap the new currency for old currency. That looks a lot more like POS than POW to me. People have to use their already acquired wealth to be part of the new currency. YES because we have such small numbers than we have a potential to increase in value but also we take a risk. Even if that risk is losing on scam coins along the way.

So let's imagine the entire population of a country was going to move to a new currency. Imagine everyone was involved. So would it be fairer that those with specialised skills in computers and expensive equipment would take a disproportionate amount of new currency? Or would it be better if everyone swapped their old currency for the new one? When you use the analogy of the whole population your idea of fairness falls to pieces.

The truth is any distribution is 'unfair' at this point cause a small percentage of the population is mining or buying into an IPO.

Was it fair that some people turned their computers on a few years and mined enough Bitcoin that means they never need to work again? POW is as unfair as POS. Anyone who thinks otherwise is trying to hold their advantage as a miner...that's all.

1697  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best PoS coin to invest in? on: July 28, 2014, 09:15:52 PM
Qora has the most potential in the real world. basically NXT with much more user friendliness.

It's still under the radar for many people, but that won't last much longer.
1698  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How we crypto-geeks get it wrong & the reality of altcoin success. on: July 28, 2014, 07:38:56 AM
The fact is some technical developments do make a difference to the user experience and security.

Qora has decentralised trading which is planned to become anonymous so obviously you have there the possibility to trade all kinds of things including a gold, fiats, companies etc. All in a decentralised way that can't be observed or depend on completely insecure trading sites.

In a word. Technology matters.

Don't confuse the unimportance and gimmicky nature of mining algos to real developments that are going to mature cryptocurrencies to the next level. I love Bitcoin but anyone who knows much about Bitcoin knows it has some serious technological limitations that need to be solved. Qora solves these limitations.

People are right to hype a cryptocurrencies because one or a few of them are likely to go from what is a tiny tiny minuscule market to potentially global mainstream usage. The thing people get wrong however is they hype coins with technical gimmicks that no one but miners and freaks will care about later. It's all about user friendliness and function. That's why I'm so positive about Qora cause ai think the developer understands this and is quietly making what could well be the next financial revolution work.
1699  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Qora | Released 16 May | 100% POS | New Source on: July 27, 2014, 06:53:50 PM
Can I suggest when Asset Exchange or any big development is implemented a date is given a bit in advance and a bit of marketing however small is done before even if it's just a countdown clock and thread etc. Just throwing out these great features is lost on 99% of the forum.

Bloomberg is one of major global financial sites, it's quite a marketing Coup. Alt coins gaining serious acceptance by the financial community it seems.

The price just started to rocket today, I wonder of this is due to this article or something else?
