Applicants should be aware that until Coinalot.net is generating enough
profit to pay its workers, payment will be in form of shares in the
company.
An option to get paid in bitcoin may inspire many people, even if it is a small amount  Smiley

If anyone has any suggestions for the site please also do not hesitate to contact me at bitcoinfansite@gmail.com or comment below

Make the ads fit well into the site, they look stretched.
You are writing a lot, do you do this as day job? Its hard to keep up with so many articles per day.
The logo is very big, perhaps it could be a little smaller.
1763  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can I start earning Bitcoin ? on: May 16, 2014, 07:04:35 PM
Do jobs for bitcoin.. its one of the fastest way to earn  Smiley
1764  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Free BTC? on: May 16, 2014, 06:02:44 PM
It depends on what you mean by easy. signature track needs a lot of talking,  faucets need a lot of captcha codes,  trading needs some time +risk, services (on the forum) can be easy, depending on your skills.

1765  Other / Off-topic / Re: This is what a $32K Flight gets you... on: May 16, 2014, 05:51:11 PM
It looks like a business class flight to me.  What's in the flight that makes it worth 32k?

1767  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Anyone tried ititch.com ? Im looking for a DNS/Hosting provider who accepts BTC on: May 16, 2014, 05:45:46 PM
Quote
Has anyone tried this place ititch.com  ?
They are expensive, but work. Domain registration is not so fast, you have to wait about 3-4 days. I dont know if any other providers are faster.

Quote
The place i mentioned in the first post was expensive. I think they also host in NZ and its close to me in distance but internet wise its rather far from my home dsl provider.  I would prefer a U.S or E.U server.

They have servers across the globe.

1769  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Kickstarter idea (bitcoin price LED ticker) on: May 16, 2014, 05:41:56 PM
Quote
Then there's the cost of other components... Too much. I was hoping somebody could do it with cheaper components. I guess we're out of luck, and an ordinary ticker would cost more than $60...

You could do it without wifi. Get the input trough usb or another port from a pc. That way, its cheaper  Smiley

Alternatively, you could make the electronics design and build it. Individual chips are very cheap.
1770  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin & PoW is a waste of energy & destroys nature on: May 15, 2014, 10:45:55 PM
Quote
It is insane to waste energy on mining bitcoin in the age of peak oil where greedy energy companies destroy nature for profit.
Right now all bitcoin miners consume the amount of the energy produced by an average US nuclear power plant (30 million KwH/day), or the total oil production of Phillipines (12,000 barrels of oil per day)

You compare only one variable : energy - with one single nuclear power plant.

We are made out of matter. Radioactive matter however has a very unique property:

An atomic nucleus emits a particle, and thereby transforms (or 'decays') into an atom with a mass number decreased by atomic number.  If you would imagine this (as analogy) in daily life situation, once upon a time a part of your body falls off. Many other types of decays are possible.
There is an amount of time radioactive substance to decay to half of its initial value;
The Half Life of Uranium-235 is 713,000,000 years. The Half Life of Uranium-238 is 4,500,000,000 years.
So far, I have not heard of any technology to speed up this process.. but until that time has passed, this material is very deadly. This is not a fair comparison  Smiley

Everything is atoms/electrons/protons, so everything is nature. You are nature, I am nature, bitcoin is nature, oil is nature. Electricity will not go away any time soon (say 5 billion years).

tl;dr; Humans will go extinct, if we do not change the way our society works. Nature will continue.
1771  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to get BTC Foundation out of Bitcoin development? on: May 15, 2014, 10:12:47 PM
The bitcoin foundation does not and cannot control btc. Bitcoin is decentralized : there are many different nodes participating to create the network. Every single node of them is a computer running some machine code. This code is open source, you can look at it, change it etc.

The bitcoin foundation mission is to standardize, protect and promote Bitcoin. In other words, they are kind of a marketing club  Smiley

Are they profitable?

BTC hat, for use during winter time.. so that many people walk around with the 'bitcoin' sign. Or perhaps wonder what btc is and get into it Smiley
1773  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Consuming Too Much Energy? on: May 15, 2014, 10:02:59 PM
Quote
Is bitcoin a big contribution to energy consumption?
Define 'big' ?  Given the amount of energy that exists in the visible universe (or even our solar system), its almost invisible.

Quote
Will this be used as a way that people/regulators can shut bitcoin down?

Regulators cannot shutdown bitcoin.  Shutting down works in server-client architecture, but not in decentralized architecture. To simplify:

You could make an analogy with the government trying to restrict peoples freedom to listen certain music (this actually happens in some countries):
How you can do it? Music can be played everywhere, in a central building, in a home, in a toilet, on the street.. anyone can have portable player. Even if the government tries to take everyone music player, there would still be a black market. And music can be downloaded from the internet, stored encrypted on disks etc.

It will stay.. and likely get bigger. Governments would do better to make investments into btc.
Like they say 'if you cant beat them, join them'

1) As with all proper sites - we use 2FA and preserve anonymity but we'd like users to register with an email when signing up. How much of a barrier is this for you guys?
Email is a tiny barrier. But it depends on the number of text boxes you need to type. People like to be lazy on the web  Smiley
Give the users are choice. Make alternatives : email login, BitID login, sms login, bitcoin payment login (?).

Quote
2) We have no min deposit or withdrawal but are thinking of incentivizing people to keep small sums on deposit by offering an interest rate. Would this work for you?
How much interest do you get for putting money in your site?

Quote
4) We're API based and would love to see several bots coming in. We'll even give out sample code to people who express interest in it. How valuable is this?
This is a good promotion for your site. How would a developer get money, if users decide to use his bot which connects with your API?

Quote
5) Should the site be as sterile as possible or can we be a little more playful with music and art?
Again, give users a choice. Some users may use the site 30 minutes, while others use it for 5 hours straight. Depending the situation a different layout will be preferred.
Say on/off option for music.

Well, you can claim the faucet on PD and make a 100x bet. Just keep claiming the faucet every minute and make a cashout when you win. Smiley

0.00000250 btc default money.
If you put chance 10%  you get + 0.00002250 if you win.
to cash out you need 0.0001000 BTC, which means you need to win several bets in a row.
if you are into this stuff, dont put all in: all in = lose all  Cheesy

Sorry to hear your money got stolen. How much did you lose?

You may be able to get it back. There is tons of tracking software on the web. If the thief uses Google, Facebook, Gmail, Youtube or others using your actual software they actually know where and who you are. Maybe you have friends there who could look it up for you  Smiley You mentioned iphone dock.. did it include the iphone?  If so : the iPhone has spyware which transmits lots of data all the time - even if it is off. So the phone company / NSA / CIA actually knows where your phone (and thief) is.

In the future make copies of your wallet.
