1463  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-05-23] Video: Andreas Antonopoulos - Government not a threat to Bitcoin on: May 25, 2014, 09:58:05 PM
I doubt that banks & Government will simply turn their cheek on this threat... at minimum I would expect a large media fud campaign and banks colluding to making converting to fiat difficult... A friend recently had his account closed due to dealing in btc.
There will be a dependency on banks for a long time (still have to pay our bills).

My prediction: Banks will simply buy a share, and possibly lend them or otherwise.. just incorporate into their business.  Government will still be clueless about bitcoin in 2024. China still banning bitcoin
1464  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-05-24] ibtimes: Bitcoin Set to Overtake PayPal in Transaction Volumes on: May 25, 2014, 09:56:10 PM
Even if the figures are slightly off I'm sure we'll surpass Paypal soon and I'm glad for it. Wonder if we'll ever get near to some of the credit card companies??

Overtaking Paypal will be easy... but overtaking the Credit Card companies will be difficult as hell. We need better security, i.e the frequent robberies and hacks need to be prevented. I'd say that if there is anything standing between Bitcoin and the no.1 position, it is the security issue.

Bitcoin is still a little baby (growing quickly), taking "the no.1 position" is probably several years away.
Even having this discussion is a milestone for how far BTC has come in a short time.  Smiley

I noticed Bit_Happy has been around since 2011 or earlier on this forum, he seems to know what he is talking about  Smiley

If you had funds sent to the deposit address on your account on an exchange, how likely is it the account could be discovered to be yours if someone was watching the transaction closely? If you buy darkcoin for instance, then sell quickly is it still possible to trace to your account on the exchange?

It depends on the exchange, some exchanges track your IP address (or more). Bitstamp wants all your info, BTC-e tracks your IP, I dont know about others; I dont know about an exchange accept darkcoin;

happiness is always a choice, because your perspective is also your choice. if you feel like nothing is ever enough, and you are money hungry, then you are probably not happy. if you feel that you don't need to live an opulent lifestyle, and just need the bare necessities, then you're happier.. because you don't demand the results from life to always be positive.

I do not agree, we cannot be happy if one of our loved ones dies. It is not always a choice
1467  Other / Off-topic / Re: I'm in love! on: May 25, 2014, 09:23:50 PM
OK I have no sign from her and now another girl showed up in my life and damn me! I like this one as much as I like the other one!

The only difference between the 2 of them is the age ... one is 18 and the other one is 42 ... and I'm 30 .... what should I do next?

I mean I want them both

and the girl who is 18 said that she doesn't want to marry but she wants to live with her boyfriend and her girlfriend because the sex life will be amazing in 3!

How should I tell the 42 one that I want a menage a trois?

In my opinion, you should not tell it like an military order, but suggest it as something to try before die  Tongue

1469  Other / Off-topic / Re: What other Useful Forum you use on: May 25, 2014, 09:17:57 PM
I use cryptocointalk, litecointalk, blackcointalk and many others. This forum is the best because it has signature advertising.  Smiley

4chan is pretty fun. Lot of different boards and some that are very funny.

they-stole-me-everything:( Angry Cry

I am surprised you have e-mail address and even more surprised the hacker uses Yahoo... I mean come on, of all e-mail services?
Yahoo is part of a big surveillance program, if you are American I am sure they would help you to track down wesevans31. Yahoo knows his IP, e-mail messages, contact list, interests, location etc. You could try to contact Yahoo support over Twitter or by other means
Tracking him down is the best chance you have in getting your bitcoins back.
1472  Other / Off-topic / Re: When will the USA go to WAR? on: May 25, 2014, 09:07:55 PM
In this total last world war very few rules is followed. No human rights or geneva rules. 1 soldier can shot those hundreds of civilians. Killed or be killed.

There will be no civilians. Machine guns such as AK-47s are very cheap now. We can train everyone to use a gun in less than two days. So China can have half-a-billion soldiers, ready to take on the Americans.  Grin

This half billion soldiers can't go anywhere. This guys would be likely die from famine and disease.

You can kill a lot of people with machine guns, but given enough people some get trough. This is what happend on d-day and afaik there were not a billion people arriving. Even if 50% of that billion soldiers die, you still got a quarter billion.

I think China would have other plans though, they would simply sit by and profit.. and become world market economy for the next decades while the rest of the world spends all money on wars.

interesting thing to me is that people with higher IQ tend to be more cynical/depressed. if you're so absolutely smart, then why do you choose to make yourself miserable?

Happiness is not always a choice, IQ helps you only so far in life - sometimes it can be a burden. Especially, if you feel like the people around you do not understand you.

Someone can explain what the meaning of the different icons and numbers exactly?

Its the number of companies accepting bitcoin as payment.  The knife&fork is a restaurant, not sure about the others. All information is taken from coinmap.org
