In accordance with my prediction that Felix will be able to beat Nadal and it happened in straight sets, it can even be said that Felix did not get too much resistance from Nadal. Nadal continues his bad record in this tournament because this is a tournament he has participated in quite a lot but has never won a trophy.

Great news for Djokovic as his three-year ban on entering Australia has been lifted and he can get a visa for early next year's tournament, the Australian Open.
https://www.abc.net.au/news/2022-11-15/novak-djokovic-to-be-granted-visa-for-australian-open/101657262

That's big news for Djokovic, he will be pumped up with that and will be driven for next year.

Nadal as I said earlier has had 10 appearances here and never won and it looks like he is
out with that loss today.

Match tonight with Ruud v Fritz is a crunch one, both players with wins in their first matches.
1902  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: November 15, 2022, 07:15:26 AM
That match between Rublev and Medvedev is being touted by some as being a classic!
Seriously high tennis from both players especially Rublev who seemed to play at a higher level
than his normal. It looked like mentally he was in a different place. I had a straight ML
bet on Medvedev to win that one.

Djokovic was very business like yesterday and got the job done against Tsitsipas.....again.

Two good line ups today, Nadal v Felix AA, I would give Felix a chance here, he is favourite,
my bet is on at 1.6

and Ruud v Fritz, hard to pick a winner with this one IMO, Fritz is favourite but I took Ruud
at + 1.5
1903  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC will make it, but might be a long winter-Elon musk on: November 14, 2022, 01:21:40 PM
Personally I don't care what Elon Musk says or predicts or tweets, he's just a troll and what
really annoys me are the of people who will act on his words as if they are 100% factual.
Look at the frenzy he caused earlier this year with Doge? remember how so many people
lost the run of themselves and got hurt.

That's quite an impressive win / loss ratio for Fritz, he did well yesterday, I put a little bet
on before the match in Fritz +2.5 @ 1.83 and it was safe all the way.

I was surprised to learn that Nadal has played 10 finals and not won any!

2 matches today, Medvedev v Rublev and Tsitsipas v Djokivic, yet another meeting of these
two this year. Hard to bet against Djokovic.
1905  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Rugby] Union 🏉 League 🏆 Super 6/7s Pro14, Cups & Tours | Olympics | Touch.... on: November 14, 2022, 07:07:04 AM
I wasn't aware of a big NRL presence in the Samoan team, so yea it could be an NRL type
final but I would expect Australia to be the winners.

Rugby Union

I forgot to mention and I'm sure you have seen the result that Australia lost out to Italy
in the Autumn Internationals. They had a penalty kick to win the game and missed.

Also France v South Africa was a close affair, both with red cards the game had everything,
lots of drama but France got the job done.
1906  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: With a 99% drop in value of Crytpo Will the Morons Move On?? on: November 13, 2022, 05:03:45 PM
A friend of mine refers to exchanges as "Shitcoin Casinos"!

There will always be an appetite for Shitcoin gambling and the lure of get rich quick possibilities.

As long as there is a chance of this exchanges will exist.

The demise of exchanges in the past like MtGox and Cryptopia have been forgotten, FTX
too will be forgotten about in time and there will be those who will "trust" exchanges again.

Felix AA lost Trofo, hopefully the handicap was covered if he was underdog?

Nadal v Fritz later on, this could be a close one and hard to bet on IMO, Frits has
had good form lately.

TBH I find this harder to be on since all players are so capable of beating each other,
the exceptions IMO are both Djokovic and Felix AA, as in Djokovic currently isn't easily
beatable and there are a few more players Felix could have trouble with.

1908  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Can Binance also get bankrupt soon? on: November 13, 2022, 12:44:23 PM
No exchange is safe.
They might say they are safe and have all the safety features and procedures in place
but by putting your funds in their care you are handing over control to them.

They offer 2FA protocols to make us feel confident that funds are safe but it's an illusion.

It wasn't so long ago when Shark Tanks Kevin O'Leary was saying FTX was a safe investment.

The only thing that is safe is Bitcoin, not all the periphery services connected to it in relation
to trading and the markets.

Women's Rugby World Cup

The grand final takes place on Saturday, New Zealand v England. Being a home tournament
for the Black Ferns they are not the favourites, this has the makings of being a great final, is there
is a value bet on for New Zealand @ 2.73 ?

MASSIVE day of Rugby yesterday, I asked the question above regarding the Women's
Rugby World Cup Final if NZ were a value undergo bet, and they absolutely were, they
won the final 34-31....but I didn't pull the trigger on that bet.

Well done to them.

Autumn Internalionals

I had two bets on yesterday, Ireland to beat Fiji....but with -21.5 points which they failed
to do, it was a patchy enough game with a good few second team players getting
a start. They won but "only" by 18 points.
More importantly they hold onto
their #1 spot.

My second bet on Argentina didn't pay either, Argentina took the lead early on,
Wales had a shaky start but got the job done to "just about" win from a very
good Argentinian team, it was a close enough game, 20-13.

Rugby League

I only had one bet on the Men's World Cup this weekend, Australia to beat New Zealand.
I was going to bet on England to beat Samoa but actually forgot to do it, they lost!

Australia won, so it's an Australia v Samoa final.

Wow yes I didn't see that coming at all, up until that the only 2 unbeaten players were
Stricker and Nakashima. Lehecka played a great game, I only saw the last set but I could
see the frustration in Stricker.

Anyway Nakashima got through in 4 sets, I think I will put a bet on Brandon, it will be close
and they are ranked 4 and 5 in these finals.
That was a real final. You were able to win the bet on Brandon. Every set had hard fightback and Brandon didn't leave it easier.  Finally 47-35 48-36 4-2 win for him to lift the Next Gen ATP Finals Trophy. The match ended in the third set, but it was a game that lasted long as four sets.

Yes that was a solid win from Brandon, I didn't watch it because there was too much Rugby
on yesterday but I kept an eye on the scoreboard.

He did really well to come back from being 3-1 down in the first set to win it. He deserves it
purely by being unbeaten throughout the tournament.

I did well with both him and Stricker.

Now on to the ATP Finals !

1912  Economy / Exchanges / Re: FTX has been hacked, delete the app, don't go to website on: November 12, 2022, 07:43:04 AM
What you need to consider is that there is some kind of exchange war going on, so there is a good reason for other exchanges to spread lies to get a competitor down. Still I would never touch anything of ftx.

That competitor was down already, the likely scenario is that it was an inside job
as o_e_l_e_o suggested. It makes perfect sense, why hasn't FTX been hacked
before this, I mean I'm sure there were attacks of the platform in the past.

I have deleted the app as directed, luckily I have no funds on FTX  or any other exchange

Hey,
Yes! I want the spot  Wink Thanks

That's great mx12.levins, welcome!

When you have done your page make contact with Timelord for a postal address
and let me know in the thread or by PM when you have despatched it.

Geo, you just missed out on that spot!

And again - I would recommend using a tracked postal service when sending the book!
It's becoming more valuable and irreplaceable as it passed to the next person. no disrespect
to the first and second in line

2 matches scheduled for today in the Next Gen finals:

Stricker v Lehecka
Nakashima v Draper

I have a bet on Stricker to win @ 1.43, he really is powering through his games and I think
that's a good price.

But I'm not betting on the second match, it's too hard to call, Maybe Nakashima will
get through, I think he has been marginally better than Draper.
1916  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Rugby] Union 🏉 League 🏆 Super 6/7s Pro14, Cups & Tours | Olympics | Touch.... on: November 11, 2022, 07:19:42 AM
That's a fairly busy schedule covering Men's, women's and wheelchair games. I have taken
my eye off the RLWC but I have 2 bets on for this weekend, England to beat Samoa
and Australia to beat New Zealand. The odds are OK but not brilliant, Australia 1.2 and
England 1.34. For me I would imagine either of these are going to win the final.

Timelord do you have an outright bet placed?
1917  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Too many chickens own BTC. Don't be a chicken, HODL! The strong hands will win. on: November 10, 2022, 08:22:20 PM
Haven't even heard about FTX until now lol. This shows how panicked I am Grin

Just for those who are wondering: the reason why a lot of people don't know about FTX despite it being a huge exchange, is that FTX's user demographic are mostly akin actual traders who know what they're doing — compared to the typical Binance user which is a lot more "retail-y"(for a lack of a better word).

I only know FTX from using BLOCKFOLIO. I have been using BF for a few years to track
my wallet contents and then with the rebranding to FTX last year I kept it going. I never traded
on the platform.

This is the real issue BTC is facing. Chickens get afraid and sell even if they lose their money. They don't even understand how crypto works.

I've never sold a satoshi since 2013. I know BTC will rise back and one day will hit the 100k and beyond. In a way I'm glad this is happening, more strong hands and less chickens. HODL! Hoping to buy more if it gets down to 10k.

Haven't even heard about FTX until now lol. This shows how panicked I am Grin

1 BTC = 1 BTC. That's all you need to know. Less drama, live longer.

Anyone who has held bitcoin for just about any length of time is way ahead of people in fiat, stocks, bonds etc.  Between inflation and authoritarian kleptocrats around the world, there are few safe havens.  PMs and bitcoin being the main ones.  I did sell some between 58k and 62k, but I have only sold rarely since 2010.

I wonder how many people will get the message over the next few months when things get
more difficult?

On Chickens, I see where the OP is coming from, there are definitely panic sellers but it also
the markets being heavily leveraged which has an effect at times like these as trades get
liquidated which drives the price down.
1918  Economy / Collectibles / Re: 🎃 Pumpkin Carving Contest -Poll- Vote Now 🎃 on: November 10, 2022, 01:25:52 PM
Posted this in the other contest thread..

There are contestants in this particular contest whom are private messaging members who they don't even know trying to get them to vote for their work.  I specifically said no manipulating of votes in any way, no begging for votes etc.  I believe I'm going to disqualify this person but not sure if that's the exact course of action to take.

What I can/will say for right now, STOP IT.  Do not randomly bug people to vote for you.  It's against the rules of the contest as well as against forum rules.

That beggars belief that people would do that, but yea I suppose there are cheaters everywhere.

I know there are finalities to do with Theymos but there is a clear winner.

Great competition and well done to ChiBitCTy for hosting.

One item, I was reading this thread and saw that my name was on the list.  I apologize, but my input was a suggestion about reaching out to Max and Stacy, or other Bitcoin celebrity. I am not that artistic and was not intending to volunteer:

"I like the idea, but had another variation to throw out there....  What if you were able to contact some of the big influencers in Bitcoin?  What if you got them to color a page or so, and sign it?   Then auction the coloring book off for a charity?   I know it's a bit far fetched, but figured people on this forum could maybe have some contacts and that would make it way more valuable, plus would make the remaining ones more valuable as well."

I did reach out to Slumberjack and he might be interested, but I wanted to see if anyone else would like to take my spot.

Again, I apologize for any misunderstanding.

No problem at all Mark and thanks for clarifying.

@mx12.levins perhaps? Grin

Yes possibly! or anyone else is welcome. I have changed the thread title.

I'm looking forward to receiving the colouring in book in the not too distant future.  Hopefully I'll have it over the Christmas & New Year period, so there *might* be some added flair (who knows - I'm handing the book over to proper artists to fill in the blanks).

Will keep you all posted when the item arrives.

Nice one T, yea you could be lucky and have it over the holiday period.
1920  Economy / Speculation / Re: I hope this Bitcoin dip won't be deeper? on: November 10, 2022, 01:12:35 PM
Gotta ask the question

Is Bitcoin ever going to rise above $20k ever again let alone reaching the ATH of $69k?

Depending what you believe that will determine how you move to buy, HODL or sell.

This has happened countless times before and still the markets bounce back to New ATH's,
just takes time and patience
