2521  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: GLBSE - request for next features on: June 14, 2012, 12:00:51 PM
I emailed GLBSE support re this on 3rd, the 10th & the 12th of June.

On the 6th June I received a reply that it was being fixed in "the next day or so"

Today I sent this to Nefario's personal email:

Nefario hi,

GLBSE (& Forum) Username: Otoh

As I've already asked you & posted on your threads why is it taking so long to release my funds?

I have a balance of 613.75 BTC & buy orders totaling 476.09 BTC, my available funds shows as 16.70 BTC so there are 137.67 BTC missing = over $800

Kindly make my funds available in full today, please to acknowledge this email by return to confirm this is going to happen finally.

Many thanks,

Otoh

Can anyone confirm what happens when an incorrect password is entered? I do not know which of 3 possible passwords I was using at bitcoinica and the field disappeared after the first one.

I think that means you entered the correct password first time off, as when I was in the same situation I first tried one that didn't work as old or something then maybe another & the field just stayed there until I entered the correct one from those saved at lastpass.com - but I can't guarantee it's the same in your case but expect that it could well be.

edit: seeing above post, maybe I chose the correct one first off from those on offer to me at lastpass, don't remember for sure.

The graph only shows bid/asks which are within 15% of the best bid/ask.

yep, it's perfectly fine, clear & useful - I wish that GLBSE would do this too.

I've asked for this feature before & others agreed that your charts without it are useless atm, can you implement it or state why not, thanks.

A good useful chart

A bad completely useless waste of space chart

PS - why don't you reply to my emails about releasing the 130 BTC from my balance that has been unavailable to me for about 2 weeks now!

Cool, it means that ppl can just place their bet/s & forget all about it, btw did you receive my donation of 2.92 BTC from 3 days ago?

My claim dating from the Swap's interest introduction has been received, I would be happy to submit it to this arbitration service if Bitcoinica were willing to accept this, http://www.judge.me/

I had the same 2 emails re password authentication, I entered it on the claims page & it then changed to: Identification - True (where the password enter box was before). So that seems to have worked OK.

edit: sry, seems that the Identification: True part was there all along & that the PW entry field disappearing after entering the PW shows that it was entered correctly.

sub, seems shoddy tardiness by gox, hope that they send it soon for you.

edit 14th June, btw they've received $6,000 from me via Dwolla over the last couple of days so that's at least 2/3rds of it, maybe with all the buying going on over the last week they had to hand over a lot of client dollars that they may have been sitting on, perhaps they got so used to the stagnant market & low moves for months that they put a lot of it on term deposit for higher rates, like locked in for 7 days or a month or more rather than keeping it on overnight call in their coffers, just speculating...

Bitcoin's horoscope for today June 12, 2012

Pluto is now in your own sign, bringing with it a slow but complete transformation of your sense of personal identity and image. This can be one of the most useful influences you ever have.

Bitcoin's horoscope for today June 13, 2012

You are on a slow, but steady rise to success.

Bitcoin's horoscope for today June 15, 2012

It's a good time to be a little bit theatrical and dramatic. Even crack a few jokes. There's no sense in letting things slide by without making a definite statement in what you do. So allow yourself to be colourful, noisy and attention seeking. Be that popular and magnetic personality you really are. Put on the charm.

When there's just small updates - then I'll just edit the last post as here

HeHe  I just noticed I was in the winning "strangers pool"... forgot all about putting that bet Smiley

Thnx!

Cool, btw one advantage of using the blockchain.info wallet is that it sends an email notification to you for any funds that it receives, OP may like to recommend especially the wallets that do this for that reason.

a couple of days ago finally got out of the nightmare scenario of being trapped in a large high $5s base price long position on Bitcoinica which would have been fine as my ZT price was in the $2s originally & I was happy to wait long term & could have kept it at 1:1 leverage np, until that was he unilaterally decided to start taxing long positions with swap charges, to me this is just Bitcoin wild west no rules rule - I'm waiting to see if his stated registration goes through because once it does I intend to claim back that swap money just removed from my account by changing without notice the conditions under which it was deposited & making my position long term untenable so that I had to close it for a big loss as I believe this sort of action is totally illegitimate in any jurisdiction

anyone else who's suffered because of this pse to let me know & we can coordinate to recuperate this blatant rip off with damages also for overall position loss if it hadn't happened once we were locked in

it's so nice atm to finally be out of that & tomorrow off for a long weekend without having to follow every price movement & the feeling of having trusted way too much money to someone who just makes the rules up to suit themselves as they go along, honestly I was amazed to get anything back out at all in that scenario - never again!

We can offer a refund if you were charged any swap for a position that you established before the rule change provided there is no new positions established after that. By continue using our service, you have already signaled the acceptance of the new rule.

Well this seems a good a time as any to claim your offer on this, yes I would like to be refunded for all swaps that I was charged on positions that I had before the rule change, you know what they are

Secondly I do not accept that by trying to get out of my position means that I accept your arbitrary change in the terms of service under which I deposited money with you, it is illegal for you to do so, therefor I hold you personally responsible along with any partners & new owners for the full amount of the swaps charged to me plus having to then liquidate my untenable position that you put me in, total loss getting on for $5,000

I was waiting for your registration to go through before pursuing this & then left it for a while so you could recover from the Linox hack but now events show it needs to be dealt with asap, so kindly confirm that you will stand by your word & refund what I have lost due to your actions

Many thanks, karma as I'm sure you are appreciating doesn't go away, it comes around & stronger each time until a just restitution is made, your call

yesterday I received this reply from ZT by PM which I'm sure he won't mind me quoting here:

You need to contact Bitcoinica Consultancy for this, and make sure you outline all the losses you incurred.

I started the swap system under Bitcoinica LP's approval and I was a full power representative at that time. However I did not have financial incentive - I can't touch a single cent of your swap money.

OK, now I need to think about this & how to proceed, I don't actually really even understand it, any helpful input would be welcome, many thanks ZT for responding, so it seems though that Bitcoin Consultancy which I now guess is called Bitcoinica Consultancy were not the owners & operators until after Zhou Tong's promise of the 22nd March 2012 to refund for swaps, but that he had already secretly sold Bitcoinica = Bitcoinica LP to T. Seale's investment group & was at that time effectively an employee of them

"Bitcoin Consultancy was first retained to perform a comprehensive security audit on March 27 and they became owners and operators of Bitcoinica LP on April 24. As General Partner, they have exclusive legal authority to manage the company." - Quoted from tseale speaking for the investment group that took over from ZT

I believe that when they take over the company, they should continue the unresolved disputes with customers. I designed the system because someone asked me to, and I gave the promise on behalf of the company because I had power to do so and it's consistent with Bitcoinica's usual dispute resolution attitudes.

If the amount is not large, I think they will honor. Otherwise you may need to explain very carefully to make it reasonable.

Many thanks, I shall explain it very carefully & reasonably, my previous posts & screen shots show how much I lost due to the T&C under which I had deposited money & opened positions with Bitcoinica being changed without notice to then make those same positions untenable, I have filled a claim for a token holding on the Bitcoinica site which I assume would be the first steps in establishing that my ID, email, password, etc is unaffected by the latest events - I appreciate your open & honorable manner of dealing with this & sincerely hope that those who asked you to implement the changes that caused me this unfair loss also recognize their responsibility to put this right, respect your promise at the time on their behalf to do so & that we can reach a fair & just conclusion here.

The above is a summary of all posts on this matter, I am now sending this claim to verify@bitcoinica.com

On 13/2/12 I held a long position with Bitcoinica of 5,000 BTC @ a base price of $5.8540
My margin deposit was 4,000 BTC + $3,002 = $22,665 & the forced liquidation (ZT) price was $2.915

I entered in to this position in good faith under the terms & conditions as stated by Zhou Tong at the time & previously, I intended to hold this position for the very long term & even add more margin in order to the lower the already low ZT price, at the time Zhou Tong was posting in the forums with his ID still claiming to be the 'Founder & CEO of Bitcoinica' & purportedly acting as such.

Then on 16/2/12 Swaps interest was introduced draining away my margin balance by changing the TOS under which it had been deposited & hence making my position long term untenable - I tried all I could to get out of this blatantly unfair situation & eventually seeing no alternative I liquidated the position for a loss of $4,842 which at the time was 1,000 BTC, note that my margin was by then all in dollars as was my loss.

As I stated at the time on the Bitcoinica forum thread, which I will attach, to change the TOS under which money is deposited & positions opened without allowing customers to withdraw it all without any loss is both unfair & illegal so I would like to lodge a claim for full reimbursement of my funds that were retained by Bitcoinica due to this act, a total of $4,842 (or 1,000 BTC as you prefer).

Zhou Tong has already agreed in his post & reply to me of 22/3/12 to refund the Swap's interest which was $456 of the $4,842

I look forward to your acknowledgement of this claim at your earliest convenience & restitution in full asap.

Many thanks,

Otoh

Bitcoin's horoscope for the week of June 11, 2012

This week you may feel circumstances are pushing you in a way you don't want to go. But this is really a time for facing the bottom line and getting organized. You may have to backtrack and unpick mistakes.

Bitcoin's monthly horoscope for June, 2012

Jupiter moving into Gemini on the 11th for a year will be a boon for health (resistance to viruses etc) and work. There'll be more enthusiastic support around. You find that ailments disappear faster and you'll be bouncing with vitality. After the 20th your energy will feel less drained with more support around.

Bubbles

As there was speculation on if a bubble occurs then when will it burst, those looking at the astro charts would probably pick the 25th of June, give or take, it's a financial bubble bursting aspect for any bubbles out there - not just in Bitcoin land, I'm going to be cautious & maybe doing some profit taking hopefully before then.

Mostly because of Jupiter being in a square aspect to Neptune, 90 degrees, then but there's other stuff going on to make one cautious around then end of June & in to July, for instance the day before Sunday the 24th is a disruptive square of Uranus to Pluto which is very long term but comes in to sharp focus again then, it's been building up a head of steam over the last 2 years & goes on until 2016, it's echoed in the cancer Sun opposition Pluto square Uranus on June the 30th. So everything will be pushed and pulled by Uranus with it's demands for freedom at all costs; and Pluto with it's exact opposite need to cling on tight for control.

I'm still not sure quite how the pools work & if the addresses that I listed above are the actual winners of the June lotto, each receiving a 10th share of the jackpot per 0.25 BTC bet, in which case someone scooped a nice 4/10 share with a 1 BTC stake  Tongue
You are exactly correct. I sent the payment if you want to see how it split up. You got 20%, and that other person got 40%.

You should start your own pool! You seem to have unusual luck!!

Well I was lucky to have got any money back on the last lotto, I bet a total of 111 coins so had a less than 1 in 4 chance of winning the jackpot same as last month, my big bet of 101 coins lost - just like the other big better with a single 75 BTC bet, but I was saved total loss by having a couple of bets in the winning pool which won me 97 coins making for a loss of only about 14 BTC in total which is more than covered by the winnings from the lotto before this one, after covering previous losses & gift backs etc I'm presently up by just over 173 BTC.

As I didn't win the jackpot & overall had a loss on the last lotto I don't plan to continue with a 100 BTC bet this month unless some other things that I'm involved with work out very well in which case then I may put in a largish bet latter on, I'll certainly bet something in double figures anyway.

I did pledge 3% of any winnings as a donation for site development etc, I should have said net winnings but I am happy to honor this pledge in any case so am sending 2.92 BTC to your sig address now.

I also gave 5 BTC to a charity which had 8 out of 10 of the bets in the first Stranger's pool, I had 1 bet in it, it would have been great if that had won but still nice to get so close.

I think that the pools are a very cool development, with 6 different addresses winning in the last one & one winner getting about 195 BTC worth approx $1,100 for a single 1 coin stake will I'm sure help make these more popular, I shall certainly keep playing them.

I'm waiting to hear of someone opening an exchange or somehow facilitating people selling bitcoins in Mexico for MXN, especially as it's now so easy to buy them with USD in the States

Mexico, one of the best documented examples of migration and remittances, received remittance inflows of almost 24 Billion US$ in 2007

Other big markets from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Remittance

Today’s African Diaspora consists of approximately 20 to 30 million adults, who send about USD 40 billion annually to their families and local communities back home.

India received 55 Billion US$ in 2010 & China 51 Billion US$ in 2010.

Well, I'ld bet Jered of Tradehill (Chile) might disagree about that being first.  And Mercado Bitcoin too:

But from the sounds of it this Colombian exchange might come in handy for exchanging at the border too.

Quote
Individuals can also exchange bolivars for Colombian pesos in the border city of Cucuta and then convert pesos into dollars.

Ah sorry my mistake, I'd assumed that Tradehill though based in Chile didn't actually do local Peso exchanges but I may be wrong about that & mercardobitcoin.com.br looks excellent - I'd missed that one

Here's an important Transit of Bitcoin's Natal chart that I've been looking forward to ever since I first took a look at the charts, it is the same transit that was playing out for the first time back at the end of December 2011, it is the Transit of Mars (in green) energizing the crucial Natal Saturn position of Bitcoin's chart, here is the chart for the 25th of December 2011:

https://i.imgur.com/0WYDy.gif

Mars continued on round anticlockwise until the 24th of January 2012 when it went Retrograde, so then retracing it's steps back past the Natal Saturn position again & putting everything kind of on hold, in mid April 2012 it turned direct again & is once more energizing the Natal Saturn position as it hits it again, here is the chart for the 9th of June 2012:
