3081  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcointalk is more than a forum on: August 28, 2021, 06:24:43 AM
An institution is a place where learning in characters also occur same as Bitcointalk forum too. Bitcointalk forum is able to accommodate different people with different characters. I'm so happy to be a member of this forum where I get knowledge for free which I don't pay for.

The good thing is, this forum has given tons of opportunities to people who are especially businessmen! Lots of discussion here towards price prediction, overall media news, and anything under the sun as long as it is within the scope of cryptocurrencies.

Although secondary in purpose, this forum has enabled tons of users to earn BTCs from participating into campaign signatures. I am pretty sure, the creation of this forum has made millionaires here in the forum- but let us not forget the primary objective of this forum which is the one you just mentioned.
3082  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Esport Gambling with Crypto. on: August 27, 2021, 02:52:49 PM
Dota and WoW have been popular amongst teens and young people for as long as I can remember, so considering that eSports betting has existed for a long time already, I think the number of involved players we see now is at its peak. Moreover, it seems to me that these games are becoming even less popular these days than it was before. At least that's what I've seen, maybe I'm wrong about this.

The boom of MMORPGs started during the time of early 2000-2010s where every kid visited computer shops and cafeteria to play with friends. Nowadays, with the development of technology, most kids have migrated towards playing with people from their houses (especially this pandemic).

The problem with most MMORPGs today is that, every game has been recycled all throughout. No innovation as to questing (typical "kill 5 slimes") and the experience nowadays with new MMORPGs have been stale. I do hope that in the future, new games would introduce new systems in order to be innovative and stay on track.
3083  Other / Off-topic / Re: Pacquiao vs Ugas rematch on: August 27, 2021, 12:49:29 PM
This is some actual news man!

I thought Pacquiao's latest fight with Ugas was going to be his last fight (since he slightly informed the media about it) but this is great news to hear. Another match to see the legend is a privilege to everyone. The fact that at age 42, he still has the same guts and mental strength to fight once again in the ring is just outstanding and unparalleled.

The only problem is that, Pacquiao did mention on his post-interview that his legs were starting to stiff. Freddy Roach also mentioned that during the years of a boxer, the first thing that ages are their legs, so I am quite doubtful as to how Manny would approach this.
3084  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Accepting bitcoin as payment for my business on: August 26, 2021, 04:56:01 PM
Just a quick question, as a business owner, is there any difference, in terms of profit, when you accepted cryptocurrencies as a payment method on your business? In addition, due to its high volatility, is this move going to make your business more profitable or liquid in the years to come?

Most businesses have started to integrate cryptocurrencies as a payment mode to their business but I am curious as to the difference in profit. Due to its high volatility, you can either earn or lose money at the same time which makes your clothing, in a way, an investment on its own.
3085  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 61 year old plays the same numbers since 1991 and wins 18 millions on: August 26, 2021, 04:47:59 PM
Would you be able to do it? Playing the same numbers over and over again like this? Because I know that I will not have the patience to do this during 30 years.

https://www.clickondetroit.com/news/michigan/2021/08/25/michigan-lottery-man-who-played-same-numbers-since-1991-wins-18m-jackpot/

Initially, I would not have done this as I would be tempted to at least change the combination of my betting numbers maybe like every after week? But this story that you shared is a living testament that sticking to only just one set of numbers can definitely win you the lottery.

Is there someone good at math that can solve the percentage of winning the lottery of paying 30 years worth of lottery tickets? I am so curious as to how the numbers are but regardless, I wish but nothing but the best to the guy who won! At least, he's already 61 so he could enjoy his retirement before the mandatory 65-year old retirement age.
3086  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs Caleb Plant on: August 23, 2021, 04:19:06 PM
Nobody gave Ugas a chance against Pacquiao and he won the fight with ease. Plant deserves the benefit of the doubt. I doubt he will win but he isn't so far out of his league that he can't pull off an upset if Canelo has an off night or if he makes adjustments in his style that Canelo isn't prepared for.

We can't compare the Manny upset though, Pacquiao train for a different fighter and he is no longer in his prime. Bu here, Canelo is just at the peak of his career, no distractions whatsoever, unlike Manny who thinks of his political career.

So I think it will have a lot of factors that will make Canelo loss this fight against Plant, in my opinion.

Pacquiao and Canelo are two different fighters but with the same burning passion which is to- win at all cost.

Like what I previously mentioned, ever since Canelo lost to Mayweather, he developed and honed his skill and technique further. He developed into a more dangerous, skilled, and stronger boxer which is unparalleled on his weight division. When Canelo fought GGG, we all thought that GGG would be able to take his crown but it all proved futile. Now that the fight between Canelo vs Caleb will push through, I have my money bet on Canelo due to his raw power and technique.

3087  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Addiction Podcast on: August 23, 2021, 04:05:52 PM
Hello folks, I’d be happy to get recommendations for podcast that interview problem gamblers, scholars, professionals in the field of treatment. Please this podcast must be one that is judgement free and maybe one that you have tried or someone you know has tried. Please share, you might just be helping someone out as well.

The internet is your friend. With everything posted online nowadays, it is not that difficult to find podcasts that focuses on gambling addiction, habits, and activities as a whole. In addition, with the ongoing pandemic, most people have shift their attention in creating content comfortably on their homes- in which podcasts shine.

My friend used to do podcasts on a certain topic about relationships and all. They uploaded their talks on Spotify so I also do recommend checking it out on the list. Like what I have mentioned, the internet is your best friend. Just one search away and thousands to millions of results would show.
3088  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM ALERT] KudooChange - Fake Exchange on: August 23, 2021, 03:54:46 PM
I find it extremely appalling that fake exchanges tend to scam people through fake giveaways. To be honest, if a newbie visits that fake exchange and inputted the code, he/she would be surprised to see that kind of BTC in his account. But the catch is, they have to deposit 0.01 btc to the account in order to withdraw the amount.
These fake exchanges are truly horrific as they can clearly catch anyone off-guard with this antic.

I applaud you OP for sharing and busting fake exchanges such as this one. If I were a newbie and I encountered this kind of scheme, I would most likely fall into this trap.
3089  Other / Meta / Re: Meriting your own alt account for non abusive reasons on: August 23, 2021, 03:47:18 PM
<…>
I’d say that the ethics that we demand from accounts to not merit their alts is better played out if it applies objectively, and not subjectively, where some reasons warrant self-meriting and others not depending on the subjacent exposed reasons. Open the can of worms, and the worms will wiggle their way out …

Besides, any decent poster can earn some merits from a new account without much effort.

I wholeheartedly agree with this post.

Approach this type of conundrum objectively- not subjectively. In fact, the end does justify the means! If the forum rules explicitly prohibits meriting your own alt-accounts, even with the most honorific or reasonable excuse, it should not be allowed in any case. Besides OP, with your caliber of a poster, receiving 1 merit would not be too difficult on your experience and skill.

Like most mentioned, just ask someone respectfully if they could merit a post of yours or message the moderators about your issue.
3090  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When do you know is time to walk? on: August 23, 2021, 03:39:36 PM
For me, it's the matter of how many loses have I accumulated in a row, if it's more than what I put into my mind then I know that I will have to walk out of the game before I lose too much. Also, knowing that you have other responsibilities that need those money can help you walk out of the game early or entirely.

I guess this kind of situation depends on the gambler. Normally, when a gambler is faced with consecutive losses on his bets, the first thing that would come to his mind is to bet again in order to recover those losses. Once they gain that advantage, they tend to bet again until they repeat the same cycle over and over again.

The best time to walk away is when you actually run out of money! I mean, if you were to gamble, try your best to bring only a handful amount of money for that day. When you are satisfied with the amount that you brought, the only time that would convince a gambler to run away is when they have exhausted all of their money.

While I do agree that it sounds crazy, but having a goal (i.e. doubling your money for tonight, etc.) can lower your expectations which would lead you to betting over your budget.
3091  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies Work To Learn And Not To Earn. on: August 23, 2021, 03:30:45 PM
I would like to point out a very important aspect for you as a newbie, which is learning this will help you greatly, not on this forum alone, but every other aspect of your crypto journey

One of the mistakes that newbies tend to make when they first joined this forum is not utilizing the search bar. They tend to create topics which were already previously created and discussed. Another thing, as much as that we all want to earn BTCs, that should not be their primary focus in this forum.

This forum was created to have a discussion on topics concerning cryptocurrencies. Earning BTCs should not be your primary reason on why you joined this forum as it this kind of mindset may be your downfall soon.
3092  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why reputable gambling sites closedown after some years of success. on: August 23, 2021, 03:17:28 PM
I wouldn't worry about it much. One closes another 5 pop up. And there is a bunch of competition otherwise. I think this is more of a reaction to the ecosystem than something that can really be changed, seems like online casinos of the crypto kind are disposable.

That is true. With the increasing popularity of online casinos nowadays, you could literally see one every corner.

I do suspect that the reason behind the closures of these gambling websites stem from their customer service or features. Nowadays, as many gambling websites are starting to surface, lots of them develop new ideas in order to attract more and more people to their website. Some gamblers migrate from one online casino to another resulting to a decrease of the original's website's population.

3093  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: worst case scenario for cryptocurrency on: August 23, 2021, 05:37:05 AM
This is a simple question but it really bothers me,
the question is, if the world's governments collaborate to create a blockchain network that is the same as Bitcoin and functions like Ethereum, then will cryptocurrency can still survive? because currently I hold 0.5 Bitcoin and 5 Ethereum for the long term, therefore I want to know what will happen if my question comes true, although maybe for the near future it will not happen, but we can take the worst case scenario from now.

The main purpose of why the blockchain was created is due to one thing- decentralization. If the government were to collaborate to create a blockchain network, then it defeats the very purpose of decentralization as the government still has control over it.

The worst case scenario for cryptocurrency, in my opinion, is when governments of all countries prohibit the transaction of such. With this in mind, big companies and businesses would drop BTC/cryptocurrencies as a payment option to their products/services. Slowly, cryptocurrencies would become obsolete and its price would decrease and decrease.
3094  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why hoard Bitcoin? on: August 22, 2021, 04:22:14 PM
Quote
Although some of its citizens are not in favor of the decision, the El Salvador government already declared BTC as a legal tender. There are also news articles that says legislators in other countries are proposing to do the same. Before all that, Japan already recognized bitcoin as a payment method.

Imagine if countries were to accept and view BTC as legal tender, there would be endless and limitless possibilities on its application.

But my question is, since it has been viewed as legal tender, isn't relatively risky to view it as legal tender especially that it is volatile on its price? Though BTC can be used as a currency in other services and products, seeing it as legal tender is a premature move to be honest.

Like what OP said, BTC is a store of value investment. The reason on why it is considered as currency is due to its anonymity value and nature.
3095  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports Betting Or Gambling ? on: August 22, 2021, 03:19:20 PM
There are people who play gambling only while there are others who prefer betting only.
Do you think both of these type of people have different mindset and one of them is willing to take more risk than than others ?

Also do think that gambling is for the entertainment and earning money too but people do betting only to earn money and there is no element of fun involved in it.

Well while both are considered 'gambling' perse, it actually depends on my mood and preference on that day.

Gambling in online/physical casinos has a great deal of variety. Not only do you experience different types of platforms, but you also engage into the game by playing it. Sports betting, on the other hand, involves purely a 50/50 bet. If you are someone who casually gambles for the sake of profit, then sports-betting is the way to go. But if you are the type of person who enjoys the games and the thrill, then playing on gambling platforms may be the thing for you.
3096  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is it possible to make $5,000 a month day trading? on: August 22, 2021, 01:52:36 PM
$15,000? Sure, very very possible. You can even make $5000 a month starting with $100 using leverage.

But the question is, how good are you actually with trading? Because the results will mostly depend on your skills/knowledge rather than your bankroll, and how much risk you're willing to take. You can even start with $1 million but you'd lose it all if you don't know what you're doing.

I think the sky is the limit when it comes to trading but like what you mentioned, it all boils down to your experience and skill in speculating the market.

Even with a minimum invested capital as low as $1,000, any amount of profit is achievable but you have to consider the opportunity and luck playing a big role on this aspect. An experienced trader may earn as much as anything on a given month but they can still earn and lose at the same time depending on the market.

Bottomline is, trade in order to gain experience. After attaining such skill, then you can start putting large amounts of sum in your trades.
3097  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Share your costly lesson about cryptocurrency.. on: August 22, 2021, 01:44:40 PM
Well it's not really costly but a missed opportunity.

When I first joined this forum last 2017, every opportunity that my campaign pays me, I cash it out and spend it for my school materials. Though it helped me with my education as it provided materials, the missed opportunity of saving all the campaign funds that I earned is what bothers me. I checked my blockchain transaction and I had a total of 1 BTC received. If I just saved all of them, I could have bought my father his dream car!

Nevertheless, this experience taught me a valuable lesson that no other can teach me. Now that I know better, it's better to definitely save your BTCs for the future.
3098  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: {Boxing} Manny Pacquiao vs Yordenis Ugas on: August 22, 2021, 12:20:53 PM
Lets admit the reality that Ugas is stronger, younger and even faster than Pacquiao .. this fight really deserves for Him to win.

The Man is looking for this kind of Fight , facing the legendary Boxer is a privilege , imagine that you will have the opportunity fighting the most popular boxing now, and the best part is that he beat the 8 division champion.

For Manny pacquiao , Please Retire in boxing and just focus in your new career in which Politics.

That is true. Ugas controlled the fight all throughout with his dangerous jabs and longer reach. While Pacquiao, at age 42, still moves with bliss and finesse, you can really see that age made a huge difference in this fight. You can clearly see that his technique and skill are indicative of his years of boxing, but his overall endurance cost him the fight at the latter stages.

Again, it is truly a privilege to see and witness a boxing legend in his last fight. Despite his loss, he still made a testament to the boxing world that only Pacquiao can do what he does and I doubt that a person could ever repeat his record in boxing.
3099  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The houses always win, are you the house or the gambler? on: August 21, 2021, 04:56:45 PM
There are still Casinos who are losing much money and that is not because of the house always win but because of the government pressure, mismanaged of funds so technically Casinos are still vulnerable for losses. Anyway, gamblers are losing money because of their own behavior and mindset about gambling, we know the house will do everything to earn money and we should understand that probability of winning against the house.

This is only a fact if a casino is not doing well in their business days, but if a casino is doing well, the tax that the government imposed to them will never bother them because it is only a little compare to what they are earning monthly or yearly. This is the reason why starting a business needs a solid plan, a solid marketing strategy, a solid team that will promote and help the business more productive and profitable.

I think every business has to create a contingency plan in order to prepare for the worst-case scenarios. In the case of casinos, their only problem is with regard to the imposition of high taxes of the government which could damage their business model and profit table.

Regardless, most casinos nowadays are profitable. The house always wins (in some cases) and gambling is an activity in which people play by the odds. With that added percentage on the edge of casinos, the favor is tilted on their side, which makes it really profitable.
3100  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin vs Altcoins on: August 21, 2021, 04:21:40 PM
You are right, there are tons of altcoins in existence but you should only focus on the top 15 of the altcoins that are currently listed on the market. It is too risky if you invest and purchase altcoins from new projects (pump and dump scheme). Try your best to focus on just 1-2 at the moment. Diversifying your portfolio may seem to be a good idea, but in an investment mechanism that is highly volatile, it is better to just focus on less than more.

Just remember that the price history is going to be the biggest factor here. Almost all of the top 15 altcoins increased their prices on the following years.

Bitcoin is useless. Nothing more than a tool for speculative idiots. Satshi who?  What is bitcoin backed by.  We are building a new stablecoin that will be 100% backed by dollars. A currency backed by the worlds largest economy. Unlike useless bitcoin. This is the future.  Reply for more info.

Obviously a troll, calling BTC useless without providing any concrete data or information on why it is supposed to be useless. The funny thing is, after saying that bitcoin is indeed useless, you subsequently promoted your own project with it.

OP, better avoid investing any coins from their project.
