Thought about doing it to the dozen s1's I had back then but -- each board had 4 regulators to tweak by hand and x2 per miner x12 miners.... just not worth my time to bother with.
Yeah I had 16 AntMiner S1s at one time, sold off 8 and did the "pencil" trick with the other 8. Man that was a rough two days! Huge PITA to get the exact value needed, was really just trial and error! The S1 was a bulletproof miner that would stay up for ages, after modding them about half of them would restart every couple days. But hey, it dropped the power usage in half! I still have those 8 modded S1s on a shelf in the garage. I should probably toss em! Save them, they might still be useful if everything goes fine with sidehack's S1 re-fit board (16nm Bitfury chips) project

What do Bitmain put on the Customs Declaration when they send the miners? Do they list the real value of the equipment or do the "adjust" it to help customers out?
Only reason I ask is that the customs duty would kill me having a new miner (which is needed as I would like to make a profit for once).
They damn well should be listing value as what it was bought for. Listing at a lower value is highly illegal and if/when caught by the receivers country will result in hefty fines and good chance the company would be banned from shipping to that country. You're right. I would point my criticism more towards the Government of Finland. edit: In other news, I guess Bitmain is manufacturing a lot of S9's at the moment. "Bitmain's new Xinjiang computing center to be completed this December. 140,000kw, dust free" https://twitter.com/cnledger/status/793675026402717698

They put the real value and it sucks as the VAT is 24% in Finland

There is very interesting news about the Avalon 7 Here is quote wrote by cgminer developer Kano in his pool thread: Well those damn S9's are back and there goes the luck!!!!!!!!!!
Hi Kano - can you run the latest S9/BDR stats, if any... just to be sure... I have a strange feeling about bmminer 1.0. All of Juvia is still bmminer 1.0 and I have not upgraded to bmminer 2.0. I hate to think that there is something rotten in v1 firmware against Kano pool. Thanks The stats are only getting better, not worse. Also the 2.0 has now found a block with a BDR less than 1.0 However, for more interesting news ... there's been an A7 pull request on cgminer https://github.com/ckolivas/cgminer/pull/701That is no way is reference to Avalon or their new hardware. Did you even look at the pull request? It's clearly cgminer updates from Canaan, and it clearly describes changes for the Avalon 7. I'd say it is a very clear reference to Avalon and their new hardware. That part is true but the s9 parts aren't. I quoted Kano's whole message and the important part is marked in bold.

Maybe November 7 could be a magical day..?! I'm positive that they will at least reveal the miner in 2016

So they are going downhill with the quality. I don't like all this info about problems with the autofreq models, so that's why I ordered another S9 11.85Th/s regular model from www.eastshore.xyz. This is my second order from them, first one came nicely and it is beefy one with 662Mhz OC 14.1Th/s

Would love to see an A7 finally make it to market! (Fingers are crossed.) Very good news indeed How long did it take after the Avalon6 pull request on cgminer was made that the Avalon6 was for sale?

Sad to hear this, damn that's a long list of defective hardware

Has anyone figured out the HEX files for the Antminer S9? I wonder if this same procedure could be done to the S9.

Is the Avalon 6 SE any different form the Avalon 6?
Where do you see the Avalon 6 SE ? https://canaan.io/avalon/The AvalonMiner™ 6 Special Edition

UMC 14nm FinFET ready for production in 2Q17 October 27, 2016 http://digitimes.com/news/a20161027PD200.htmlUMC will ship 14nm chips to BitFury in small volume in the second quarter of 2017, said the sources, adding that shipments will expand in the following quarter. BitFury going for a 14nm FinFET chip next year, wow!

There was previously discussion in this thread about if anyone has gone past the 650Mhz frequency. Well, I did a little overclocking with my 11.85Th/s model S9 and it is performing surprisingly well. I'm running it at 662.5Mhz frequency, 14.1Th/s with ok temps. I'll probably have to underclock it though when the summer comes in 2017. (Click for bigger picture)

0.42 Bitcoin per TH is going to make this unit a non-starter. That would be WAY too high compared to the S9, and even a bit on the high side compared to the INSANELY OVERPRICED R4.
Hopefully that price is outdated and will be adjusted.
the price will be lower when selling. Any idea yet about the when?

Well, BW.com has at least four 14nm miners that I know: BW B11, BW B11-PLUS, BW B12 and BW B16. No public release for sales though.
