621  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can newbies know when it's a good track of conversation on: January 12, 2023, 04:19:22 PM
I thank everyone for good suggestions.................
I mean this is forum, Onyeeze. Not sure what you meant by "mastering Bitcointalk" (familiarizing the whole forum maybe?). I and other users here understand that your first language might not be English, based on your post history, so maybe stick first to your local board while keeping mind on the rules in here.

User akuntester1 linked a thread for the rules in here so please give that a read as well.
622  Economy / Economics / Re: Rich Mindset vs Poor Mindset : 6 key differences on: January 11, 2023, 10:24:35 PM
That's the difference and the threshold for sure. If you do not worry about regular life expenses, if you have enough money that it's not a problem to pay the bills, then you are rich, that's my understanding of rich.
Got this mindset actually and people think that as "living averagely" which they describe it as a boring, but for me, it feels like more than enough for me.

Considering how hard is it to live these days and it almost felt like a survival struggle, I would consider being able to pay bills comfortably while being able to go out a little bit to have fun is richer than what other people can see. Net worth does not define the whole meaning of "being rich'.  I can still recall plenty of unhappy people with large amount of net worth.
623  Economy / Economics / Re: What was your lowest point financially? How did you go through it ? on: January 11, 2023, 10:15:16 PM

This is really the harsh reality that every people just can't admit. People think that they can be the next Elon Musk, Zuck, Gates, Bezos, etc just by following their footsteps and they did not realize on how fucked up the world really is. You could turn Twitter around more than what Musk can do, but you'll never be able to accomplish it if the luck is just against you. Sure, hardwork would pay off sometimes to open opportunities and somehow open luck, but if people would discriminate or hate, they will and there's nothing you can do about it.

Just don't get it why some people do not get it.

Sometimes in investment or whether storage of value, it would help to just keep it in one coin and yeah I know and you know it is Bitcoin. Other shitcoins out there aren't worth "diversifying" for and might just yield you hundred percent losses in the end.

Optimism won't help if project devs would just run away with you money. I've been optimistic to some projects back in 2017 up to 2018 until I went all-in to Bitcoin. Sure there are still alternatives like ETH, but I prefer it to Bitcoin.
625  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I sell motorbikes to buy bitcoins on: January 11, 2023, 05:37:08 PM
better hold btc, than motorcycle for sure.
if you want diversify choose another major coin like eth
Well considering OP's description of his motorbike, buying Bitcoin would be a good option unless he is in a financial problem which I don't think he is.

Assuming OP's story is true, @OP your need to get started with Bitcoin is just few searches away. I would advise you to invest in hardware wallet to hold your Bitcoin or at least paper wallet if you can do it as well. I am not sure how much your motorbike is worth after selling, but if you could make way for a hardware, please do so.
626  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: at bitcointalk.org you have to be mentally strong. on: January 10, 2023, 08:29:07 PM

No worries if you're new, but I don't think there's any point of mentioning this out since it happens to every sites out there anyway. I even recall being harshly downed by some random FB user kids in back in the days and I did not just give a single crap at all.
In the internet, you cannot just trust so easily knowing that you never know who's behind the monitor.

Having a thicker skin in the internet helps a lot.
627  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's the future of digital currencies? on: January 08, 2023, 05:36:12 PM

I think people are having misconception between being adopted by the public and being just something mainstream in the news. When we're talking about public awareness, surely many had already heard about crypto but surely also many had not planned to adopt it just yet and yeah I believe that 10% that you mentioned.
I barely even heard any adoption here in my area, just a general knowledge. Maybe?

Maybe due to NFT craze back then people have been somehow aware of it.

It's pathetic yeah. Meme coins are like one of the cheapest thing they could convince people to be into crypto and just turned out being against them in the end. smh.
I can't even imagine some would commit whole savings to such meme coins like this. Could be true that there are so many ways to convince people still but hey come on, at least put a little effort to it as a business owner or even a dev. Cheesy

I had seen some projects in Github where there are even no recent updates, lol.
629  Economy / Economics / Re: What is your biggest obstacle to achieving financial freedom ? on: January 07, 2023, 10:01:40 PM

And this is why many people in my country including me are usually doing the job hopping strategy and aim for a better company then the end point would be establishing my own business once I have enough money. Thing is there's "only chances" that you could get rich in your usual 9-5 work unlike when you're own boss or you're the business owner.

There are people also doing freelance business especially from 3rd world countries considering how 1st world countries really pay well in their own end due to dollar value.
630  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it advisable to memorize seed phrase? on: January 07, 2023, 09:57:28 PM
~
Considering how many things you're going to come up with moving forward, I would not even count on memorizing my seed phrase. There's no such pattern that could make you memorize it easily considering that it is a word list in order anyway. I just realize to myself as well that I can't memorize for shit unlike when I was at high school. Such shit happens but hey we get older. Cheesy

Like others mentioned, better just engrave it to a metal plate for safety purposes.
631  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What advice can you give to newbie here? on: January 07, 2023, 07:05:44 PM
Well pretty much all the things to keep in mind was already mentioned in here, OP. Though there is just one thing I would like to add up.
Just have a great time around in here while keeping in mind on what others mentioned especially the rules. I enjoy reading topics here in weekends rather than in Reddit if you would ask me. Smiley

Inhave this one advise i will like to give you OP in addition to what others have been giving, "do not plagiarize" this is the simplest means to end a bitcointalk career for any newbie who will not pay attention to the forum rules and regulations not to plagiarize, some think it's a joke and therefore will want to give an attempt to see wether it's true or not, if you plagiarize you will be automatically banned from the forum except if you're lucky enough it may be considered as a temporary ban base on the dept of what you did and being a newbie is not an excuse from getting banned, that's why you're expected to read and understand the rules before proceeding.
Not sure what you mean by career in here unless you're trying to establish a business or something related. It's a forum for discussion of ideas and topics.
632  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Meme coin caused Solana price to rise by 40% in a week on: January 07, 2023, 06:36:29 PM
Recently a meme coin was launched on Solana network which got a lot of hype. As a result, Solana prices are about 40% up in last one week. Do you think this is good thing or bad thing for solana ? Just a meme coin causing this boost instead of some solid news like good partnerships or adoption in some company.
For sure regardless, if it is a meme in the internet that a lot of internet users are familiar with is surely will sell anyway. I have not invested to Solana, but when we're talking about memes, it is surely going to be a short-term "good thing" for Solana though I would not count on it in the long-term.

Trends die at the end and memes count along with that. Also worth mentioning that hypes tend to die out in few months or so.
633  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you have 1 bitcoin? on: January 06, 2023, 09:51:11 PM
~
Can't even remember on how many Bitcoin I have right now. I don't really care that much, but I am pretty sure I am holding more than 1 after my last accumulation. Don't follow those kinds of people you just mentioned unless you really need some money right now.

What motivates those people? They just don't really mind what happens even if "big drop" happens. Better have other hobbies to focus on rather than keeping on refreshing that holdings you got as you would just be disappointed on the changes in price every second.
634  Economy / Economics / Re: Saving one third what you earn monthly is not that hard, isn't it ? on: January 06, 2023, 07:33:59 PM

Yeah we should also consider the region stuffs since dollar value is different. $3000 here in my country would be like a wonderful amount to have and you could just live in the metropolitan area living a comfort life for sure. Sometimes that 1/3 might be enough already depending on how you spend your money anyway. Are you buying unnecessary stuff daily? Some people can save more than that if their electricity is not high up in the ceiling since some countries just have the worst electricity cost.

Considering electricity cost is painful right now in my country I can understand that some would be just go for lower.
635  Economy / Economics / Re: The poor people with their reasoning on: January 06, 2023, 07:22:16 PM
~
Surely there are higher chances that rich people are just investing to it behind the scenes. They can afford to lose a large lump sum of money anyway even if their investment just did not turned out in their own favors. Poor people have more things in priority that risking what they currently have in their own bank, so others should not be surprised that they are still hesitant to drop a single penny to any sorts of investments including Bitcoin out there.

Sure Bitcoin did not fail us for more than two decades, but it does not mean that everyone should invest to it hastily.
636  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Dev is not your friend, so be careful. on: January 06, 2023, 06:20:39 PM

There is part of it that it is right, since even those knowledgeable and experienced investor would still look for cheaper and newer projects. Sometimes the maturity of the project results in lower returns due to a lot of shares that it will be given to the investor.

This is why even the experienced ones are still vulnerable to these kinds of stuffs, not just those stupid investor.
637  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: age 47 is it too late or not to invest in bitcoin.? on: January 05, 2023, 09:53:20 PM
My dad is even considering in investing to Bitcoin. I only gave him a little bit of knowledge about it since he is partially interested to it though considering still to invest. And no, it is not a problem, Solokan. Don't worry.
If people can even do career change at age 50, what more for the investment that they can just put their money at.

Since you also mentioned about inheritance, this thread might be helpful for you - Using Locktime for inheritance planning, backups or gifts
638  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stay away from BONK on: January 05, 2023, 06:58:59 PM
I mean just by the name of it, I already know the source of the meme anyway and I can see a Shiba or something from Doge meme being hit by photo edited baseball bat. Cheesy

It looks like another meme coin attempting to milk Doge or Shiba Inu with just a different name and image, lol. Quite surprised that it is becoming a news though just by searching it through Google.
639  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin - what price would you sell? on: January 05, 2023, 06:50:00 PM
~
Well either way, even if you're not going to accumulate 1 full Bitcoin, you're fine. There ain't no minimum investment anyway unless you are strict goal of getting a whole.
We can only speculate so much for now since 2025 is still 2 years away and there could be so much price history that we need to look into in this coming months.

Just sell whenever you need to. At least in my case, I do not have any specific price eyeing on for now since I also use Bitcoin for transactions.

I recalled a friend of mine back in high school that just keeps on buying stuffs online and keep on money dumping all over the place without realizing that he is about to be in trouble of having no more allowance. Told him already a lot of times that he should cut off his unnecessary expenses even if he is still just in a young age.

How did it end? He ended up without an allowance for a week almost. My story might not be related to crypto but the application should still be be somehow.....relevant.
