What's with the new creation of these kind of tokens lately? Are people really getting desperate getting money from their investors?
Recently I just happened to stumble upon another shitcoin named after Elon's son, and I am not going to even bother mentioning it in here as I am totally going to lose it in the altcoin side of crypto. I am not surprised if each and every breed of dogs will have their own coins, lol.

Can't really understand what you're saying there, but doing that would be pretty and obviously stupid. It's like creating company under the name of someone thinking that they can get more consumers.
If they would indeed make a token for each member of the family, I am totally going to lose it for the altcoin side.
Altcoin space would just be tainted with these type of absurd tokens.

I recall this user couple of months ago asking how to rank up and s/he never even bothered reading anyone's reply for advice/s. I am not surprised that s/he would do mistakes like this considering that s/he can't even bother reading anyone's post.

@OP, how ironic that you're now reading and replying to people's reply after you got caught.

Really?
After Elon shitcoin, there is now a coin made from son of Elon?  What's next? His ex-wife?
Can't imagine that people would create such a coin out of a random person in the Twitter (I am aware he is one of the richest person in the world).

~
To be honest, this worries me.

Nice to hear that you earned though.
I would still suggest to not rely too much in it regardless of how much you made in x months, as what others mentioned in here, you got lucky. Imagine others wasting all their savings in one of 99% of the shitcoins out there thinking that there would be another ATH of whatever coin they're believing to grow.

This Facebook project really just confused the hell out of me when it was announced. At first they called it Libra, then a lot of months had passed with no updates to this project at all until just few months ago I heard that it just changed to Diem.
From my old account in Facebook, I had followed Mark and never heard of any updates of this project.
To be honest actually, I never expected this project to push through. Facebook and crypto just don't go along well. If I can recall correctly, they even banned crypto posts.

Web 3.0 was mentioned back in my high school day, and as far as my knowledge goes, it is still remained as like "an idea". I haven't heard too much from it, so what you might be thinking might be in the farther future.
For now people are still busy getting rug pulled by these NFT games that they're playing right now. Oh and same goes for the meme coins and whatever meme coins are going to be create in the future.
It's not just meme coins actually. It's those trends as well in the movies. I still recall when some shitcoin like Squid Game token got created. What's next? "All of us are dead" coin? That show seems to be popular, and I am not surprised if some shitcoins like those get created soon.

There's even far more worse than just a drawing of a bird, as just few days ago I recall a post in Facebook pertaining that someone sold a selfie/photo of their nips in OpenSea. I can't quite recall how much was it, but it cost more than a hundreds of dollars. I forgot to include it in my recent post in here, as I just recalled it when you mentioned "crayon drawing of a bird". Cheesy

Never really cared about Metaverse aside from just hearing it a lot here in the forum in the Altcoin Discussion. About NFTs, I never really bought any NFTs nor I have the plans to do so in the future. People are now looking at NFTs as either an artwork being sold in OpenSea or just another in-game item/s in a random game. I am still curious about these two you mentioned, but from how it is being seen and used by my friends in social media, I don't think I am getting way further from what I knew about it.

I do not know who he is, but it's good thing for quite a while that I read someone being paid in the form of cryptocurrency. This kind of made me remember a news long time ago about a company in a certain country having their employees get paid in BTC. I don't particularly remember the actual article as it was long time ago. What just kind bothering me is how can they handle the unstable price of Bitcoin when it dips a little bit in the price? I wonder if the payroll department in their company keeps changing the amount of Bitcoin to be paid. Cheesy
1531  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: why you will be left behind if you don’t learn NFT. on: February 02, 2022, 03:02:46 PM

Well when it hit the trend, people are looking at it now as another downloaded image file in the internet. I know NFT is more than that, but from what the public's thought about it kind of ruined the definition of it. If not about artworks, it's about in-game currency. Like here in my country, NFT games are still being played by the many and the online wallet that I use already adopted one of the NFTs when one makes an account.
I am not surprised if one day people think that Bitcoin is an NFT just because it is about cryptos.

I guess the same could be said when I was still finding ways on how to get first Bitcoin back in 2017. I started reading around this forum, just as a Guest user in the middle of that year while also being recommended by someone to ask here as there weren't that much tutorials on how to buy Bitcoin here in my country as it wasn't that mainstream here just yet. I really didn't expect that there would be local boards in here in the first place.
1533  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is the meme coin still worth holding on: February 01, 2022, 03:48:20 PM

Or maybe don't purchase meme coins at all. They're too unpredictable than Bitcoin and you know that they're just for hypes and not truly for something of real use.. Not sure if that "DAO" was an intentional shilling, but I won't bother checking it. Seems like staking is a thing these days now though.

This kind of reminded me as a gamer back in the days not knowing that such gaming forums like GBATemp forum exists. It's not just happening to this forum. It can happen to any forums that I could also have not been aware of.
And yes, it's not like those social media platforms that gets into the mainstream in no time. When it comes to forums these days, people might have been thinking of something like Reddit or 4Chan.
1535  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: To the Moon: Shitcoins are Ponzi Schemes on: January 31, 2022, 04:58:49 PM

I won't mention one though as I might be seen shilling it, but sometimes those projects just do not get the public's eye that's why they get little to no investors at all. The word altcoin/s has been like painted to be "likely to be a shitcoin" by many. And to be honest, whenever I see newer projects just popping up, it have little to no expectation that it will push through.
And yes, even business outside crypto are also failing.
I recall some coffee shop businesses around here in my area that just started to close one by one pre-pandemic, even though their menu seems good.
1536  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: the comforts of bitcoin on: January 30, 2022, 07:17:32 PM
Everything you explained in the OP can also be achieved if you apply for and use a debit or credit card. Instead of requiring physical paper notes and having to run to the bank to get more of those from a cashier, you pay with your debit card that is connected to your bank account. You don't have to worry about big crowds or the working hours of your local bank.

Bitcoin might have decreased the crowd problem a little bit, but you still have the older generations who use only banks and fiat. Not to mention that not everyone wants to use Bitcoin no matter if they are young or old.
Almost no one here in my area cares, know or at least was aware about Bitcoin. Pretty sure that Bitcoin won't be for everybody even for the future generation that's next for the Gen Z. Cheesy
Last 2 years, I explained Bitcoin to some of my friends and most of them just backed out either due to "no future" or "unstable price". I wonder what they're thinking right now though.

@OP
Well you could also add that there are no such words as "cutoff" in your deposits.

It could be though. I forgot to mention that, thank you for the quote.
I can't imagine someone still holding that kind of ranking coin for a decade. For sure the coin would be flat-out dead even by half of a decade unless there is still a cult or community out there keeping up the hype for no reason.

I am just going to put it in here, but from one of my experience in bounties back then, some attempted to reach me out through my "junk mail" and tried to phish me into their fake MyEtherWallet website as they knew that I was using that kind of wallet. It's not just mostly scam, but some would even try to steal your wallet away from you. I am pretty sure that nobody in here would fall for such a thing, but hey for sake of some newbies that are still new to these kinds of stuffs.
1539  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why alt coins don't go up with bitcoin as much they go down with it? on: January 29, 2022, 06:03:51 PM

When you think of crypto, you would most likely think of Bitcoin. This is probably what's going on to investor's minds when they're doing their dumps and buys during/before the dip. It's a risky world of shitcoins out there that's why Bitcoin is probably the one recovering better than these coins you mentioned though I never bought any single coin of what you just mentioned there, mate.

This is going to be rough when you're the one handling your monthly bills/rent. Maybe for some hobby sure, but some people are taking these stuffs too seriously. I personally quit my bounties back around 2018, as the first week was already exhausting enough to do so and not getting paid, although the same could be applied when you have that kind 8-5 work though for sure you're going to get paid in that unlike these shit bounties.
