641  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Physical gambling and internet gambling which is more fun. on: March 17, 2023, 06:33:34 PM
I prefer online gambling to physical gambling, it's not something that makes me sentimental about the environment, but for me, who doesn't mix actively in society, of course it's very awkward if I do physical gambling. Because maybe I feel that I am an introvert who prefers peace. I prefer online or internet gambling because that is not something that makes me not have pressure from outside my environment when playing gambling.
I think more people in this forum like internet or online gambling because it's easier and doesn't appeal to the public's point of view.
We all have our own different points of view when it comes to physical or online gambling. As much as I prefer to go for live casinos and feel the thrill and excitement along with other gamblers, there are also who only want to gamble at their own pace and interest. These type of gamblers do not want to engage in people’s interaction and they prefer more to enjoy gambling alone in front of their screen. Well, that’s very common nowadays especially when online gambling arise. Although I feel more safe and secured with it, but when it comes to fun and excitement, still I would love to gamble with physical gambling casinos.
642  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do You Feel Inadequate or Inspired After Watching These Types of Traders Content on: March 17, 2023, 05:56:40 PM
As a small bitcoin trader, I feel intimidated rather than inspired when watch certain YouTube or Social Media titles or content like "Day in the Life of a Young Millionaire Trader in Dubai" or "Day In The Life of a 23 Year Old Making $10,000 a Day", or "A Day In The Life of a Crypto Trader" etc.
You can watch them but I don't.

Life has many meaningful things to do and to enjoy not like watching videos from those guys. They are rich, let them be but most important things they make those videos is to gain more followers.

Not strange to see influencers use their impacts to shill projects that later are scam projects and many people lose money. I watch Youtube videos about cryptocurrency and Bitcoin but only from channels that give me knowledge and educational videos.
Same with mine. If you feel intimidated and distressed, then simply stop watching them. After all, we know what’s real trading scenario is, if you think those videos are exaggerating, then let it be as they are only after with their followers because that’s where they can make and gain an income. YouTube videos could sometimes be true or not, it depends on how an individual sees it. But since they’re crypto influencers and would want to gain a lot of followers, they will do everything to attract a lot of viewers even if it’s crossing the line already.
643  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: More Awareness needed, 100$ or Bitcoin??? on: March 17, 2023, 10:13:45 AM
It depends who you ask & where you ask it. Some people are just really dumb, you can take a horse to warer but can’t make it drink. I’d like to think if you asked people on Wall Street or some other high profile financial district they’d take the bitcoin.

I guess as humans there is a psychology around risk levels. Nobody ever gets rich playing it safe, the people who choose the bitcoin will probably do better in life. I’d love to see a study that followed the people over 30 years & see who did better in life, the guy who chooses the $ or the BTC.
I guess those kids do not know bitcoin at all or they have heard it and think that bitcoin has no real value that’s why they quickly chose dollar over bitcoin. Regardless of which country they came from, it’s a fact that bitcoin is not really that well known compared to dollar and still needs people to be educated on it so they will gain insights and knowledge about bitcoin. However, for crypto friendly country like El Salvador, you don’t have to ask them about it because it’s an obvious fact that they will chose bitcoin over a $100.
644  Economy / Economics / Re: Lending money or damaging family bond ? on: March 16, 2023, 09:38:56 PM

Managing finances properly is key to our financial life, which is well known to each of us, I guess. I feel like this is in my bones so sometimes I make some decisions subconsciously. I recently ran into a situation where I found myself really awkward. Last July or August(I can't remember that clearly), one of my extended family cousin asked me for three thousand dollars as he lost his job and could not pay off his loans. I refuse to lend him the money cause I knew him well that he was not a solid trustworthy guy. A few days ago we met on a family reunion occasion and he did not really talk to me and I suddenly realized that it was because I didn't lend him money last year. I think about it twice and if he had not been that untrustworthy, I would have definitely lent him the money. Anyway, I hope he is doing fine now and best wishes to him.
He cannot blame you for your actions as you cannot blame him too from behaving that way because he is just a victim of the situation. He has lost his job thats why he is not really in a good position right now. But if you can spare him some money that you are not using, I guess that could somewhat help him to lessen what he’s feeling right now. In the end, being untrustworthy is a choice, he can always change it if he will be given the right opportunities and chances in his life, and you could be an instrument for that.
645  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: March 13, 2023, 09:34:54 PM
Nevertheless, what's funny about it is that their are already weight class, I mean a predetermined weight that this fighters are going to box. So it this is supposedly 135 lbs, they agree to 136 lbs, but then have rehydration clause? I think it defeat the purpose of having this weight category another when there is a cap.
Yeah, and that's why after reading the details I was kind of intrigued because honestly, this is really the first time I saw a clause like that. I guess we will just have to witness it before Ryan Garcia steps on the ring if there will be a weighing scale before he enters.  Grin
It's almost like a punishment for a big boxer trying to cut weight for the weigh-ins and then avoiding rehydration just so he can still be in the range where the opponent requested it before the fight.
Now I know why the Tank's camp is avoiding Garcia for a long time. They are pondering what clause they will add to avoid losing the belt.
I think Ryan will have a big problem here if the fight will be long considering that clause.

It's part of boxing culture already, because a boxer can rehydrate and be big in the fight night itself, gain like 10-15 lbs or over 20 lbs is possible for this guys. I heard from Calvin Ford, Davis trainer, that they want the fight in 135 lbs, and Ryan's camp wanted 136 lbs. So they gave in to their demands but there will be a rehydration clause of 10 lbs for Ryan. So both trying to make their weight very easy for them, as Ryan say's it's a go and he has no problem with that. So in this case two weigh-in, before and after the fight to make sure that what is stipulated in the contract will be followed by both camps. We haven't heard about the gloves and the size of the ring and other stipulation.

I suspect that Ryan Garcia's camp didn't anticipated that to happen where a rehydration clause will be put in place right after their demands are being met. I'm just curious though, why would they agree to have the latter choice if they could have the fight happen at 135 and without that rehydration clause as that is more favorable for Garcia's camp rather than getting another weigh-in at the day of the fight to see how much weight did he add and a little over 10 pounds is not acceptable.
646  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue - WBC and WBO 122 lbs bout - May on: March 13, 2023, 08:42:21 PM
It might be a huge disappointment to us fans that we haven't got the chance to see the Crawford-Spence fight, at least they are still doing their part to make the other fights happen for us to enjoy. Like this fight, we are all expecting this to happen and fortunately, Al Haymon didn't interfere as Fulton is his cow.

And one of the said reasons why the Crawford-Spence fight didn't materialize is that Crawford was a free agent and don't have a big promoter company that will handle business and negotiations against the big promotional company that Spence is currently under contract.

Sad to see Crawford end up fighting against not that ranked boxers just to keep him active in the ring after being parted with the Top Rank Promotions. Here in Fulton vs Inoue fight, it's good to see that this fight was organized and boxing politics did not take place between the 2 big promoters.

Might be but I believe that even with Bob Arum's help, the fight won't still materialize because Al Haymon didn't have any plan at all to make the fight happen and that means even if Bob and Crawford will give as low as 30% slice of the purse just to push the fight, it's still not happening. Not day, not ever because they are afraid of Crawford's skill because if they aren't, they could've pursued Crawford first and Ugas last for him to be the undisputed champion.
647  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 13, 2023, 08:19:49 PM
It's normal to foul in that situation, but what's not normal is taking too much time before fouling Josh Hart. It's just unfortunate that he didn't miss the free throw, and even if the Lakers made the 3-point shot, time was not in their favor. Maybe they'll reflect on what happened, as they came back but wasted the opportunity to have a chance to win in the end.
What is to be so aware of? I mean players should be aware of the time that is remained, and the point difference and they should know if they should foul or not. There is no scenario where it is alright to let the other team take so much time when the situation is like that, what did they expected Knicks to throw the ball in the air? Obviously the time would run out if you do not foul right away.

Plus, we are talking about a situation that doesn't even require the coach to tell you to foul, it is the common sense and you should be doing it right away even without getting any orders from the coach as well. This was a simple mistake, shouldn't be repeated for sure.

That is the kind of question where the players could only answer why it took them some precious time before they realized that they should foul it to have their team some time to prepare for it because that time was the only thing left that does hold their chance from being defeated. But seeing what they did earlier was clearly a mistake on their side, they should be aware of what is happening and take steps ahead just to be sure. That was a wasted game for sure.
648  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: March 13, 2023, 07:22:53 PM

Los Angeles Lakers VS New York Knicks SCORE 108 - 112 - LOST

Even with D'Angelo Russell gaining great momentum in this game Anthony Davis didn't deliver something big I thought that the Lakers could win this because of him, but sure enough, the game was still very close, but it was a great start for the Knicks that gave them the upper hand, Immanuel Quickley got 15 points, RJ Barrett got 30 points and Julius Randle got 33 points

Same here, wasn't expecting that to happen and AD did commit quite a lot of mistakes which is somehow important for their situation earlier, and because of that mistake, the team got a challenge in the last quarter and even with D'Angelo's contribution, it is not that enough to keep the team afloat and continue their steak. But if AD was performing well, I doubt if Randle can still do what he did earlier.

Anyway, it's pretty much time for us to bounce back.

Memphis Grizzlies -1.5 vs Dallas Mavericks
Phoenix Sus vs Golden State Warriors -4.5
Minnesota Timberwolves vs Atlanta Hawks -5.5
649  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Caleb Plant vs David Benavidez on: March 13, 2023, 02:39:02 AM
Caleb said that he was surprised by Benavidez antics, for him it's just a show and let everyone knows that he is the tougher guy. But Caleb is not deter with all the talks according to him. He will really come full prepared in this fight and as we have said, he seems to rediscovered his punching power, specially with how he knockouts Dirrell with that left hook. Just a couple of days from this fight, the face-off in the weigh-in will be huge for the fans and again we should expect the trash talking specially from David, and Caleb be cool with that or either shows his emotions. Plant is still 3:1 underdog in this fight.

He shouldn't be deterred about David's antics because he is on a crusade to get back and fight Canelo Alvarez again, he should remain calm and let his performance in the upcoming fight do the talk as that is what the people wanted from him especially that many doubted him in this fight. He is an underdog in this fight despite what he did in his career and KO'd Anthony Dirrell just recently in the 9th round.

This will be a good fight, both boxers are targeting the undisputed title holder and that means that they wouldn't give each other an advantage that they would regret as they both know each other's capability.
650  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue - WBC and WBO 122 lbs bout - May on: March 11, 2023, 09:01:07 PM
Yes, that is the trouble of the boxing industry these days because promoters are too greedy making their own fight rather than giving the people the entertainment they wanted. To think, it's quite simple, for those boxers who got more to lose then it's expected that they should be favored in the table and have the bigger slice of the purse but even that easy is not enough to make the fight.

In fairness though, these big promoters are the reason why some mega-big bouts also happened. Without their strong influence and expertise in the boxing market industry, they can't organize big fights. At some point though, They are also the reason why some popular boxers today reach the stage of being the highest-paid boxer and always in a title match.

Since business is associated with building a legacy of a boxer, we can't just expect our desired fight to just happened and be organized that easily.

We don't like some of the promoter's actions but let's face it, nothing we can do about it.

I agree, there's exactly nothing we can do about it. What we can do is to support the fights that they organize and if these fights are not interested enough to get our support then it's better for us not to watch it and just prefer to be updated later on if what happened as almost everything will be connected especially in the future fights.

651  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 11, 2023, 07:40:03 PM
Now the streak of Jokic is over as the Spurs made an upset and won against the top seeded Nuggets. 2nd to the last seed won against the top seed? That's more upsetting than Hornets beating the Knicks on the road. First they lost against the Bulls on their home, and now they lost on the road against the Spurs. I have nothing to say, but just an upset.

Jokic had a triple double on this game, but since he lost, his streak of winning every game when he got a triple-double has ended now.

Anything can happen, though. Although the Denver Nuggets are a good team, the Spurs are a team that knows how to win. They have a winning culture under Coach Gregg Popovich but only lack talent because they are composed of young guns who, at the same time, play hard.

They may have a very bad record now, but as I said, they know how to win, and upsets are normal in sports.

It's just sad that the media are trying to hype a good team, which means an underdog team is underrated.

Some said that the San Antonio Spurs can somehow be a threat to the league if they would like to and their placement right now wouldn't be like that if they are not tanking for a reason. Well, part of me is indeed agreeing with what some of the people are saying and the game earlier was one of the proofs that they could be hard if they wanted to.
It's just that the Spurs right now are still exploring their talents while getting some experience and that is somehow expected by a team full of young but dedicated, maybe next season, the Spurs will be a different team.

Perhaps the lost of the Nuggets is just a blip. As for San Antonio though, yeah there are a lot of young talents in that team and it seems that they are still exploring. But once their is a perfect fit already or they have mature or get some very talented players, they are going to be a very difficult team to beat.

Coach Pop knows what he has to do, and maybe there are games that he really showed his experience as one the best coach in the NBA.
Yes, I guess we can say that because coach Pop is an experienced coach that has been delivering championship teams in the league for quite some time now. Safe to assume that he got a long-term plan for the current Spurs roster that is why we are not seeing him so furious of their outcome because he is just letting the players do their thing to acquire experience.

Suns vs the Kings might be a good game to see, two of the best in the West.
In-fact, I'll be watching that game later but I reckon that it will be much interesting to see if the Suns are a healthy team just like the Kings right now.

I took advantage of the 76ers slow start to get a bet in with some decent odds. Hopefully they make a come back as it isn’t looking so great right now. I couldn’t resist getting in a couple of good parlays with those odds though. Hoping Denver pulls off an easy win tonight as well or else all my bets for the night are going to be toast.

Smart move mate! The 76ers still won the game after having a slow start in the first two quarters and it was a thrilling end where the Blazers manage to have the lead in the final minutes but even with their tight defense, Joel Embiid made his fade away shot before the regulation ended.

Final Score: Sixers 120 - 119 Blazers

I surely hope so too because we have the same situation Grin Currently, the Spurs is advancing since the 2nd half commenced and have the lead with 3 minutes left on the clock.
653  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I managed to convince my senior dad to invest in BTC on: March 10, 2023, 07:19:39 PM
I would never try to convince anybody... I'm a big crypto enthusiast, but i still consider crypto a high risk investment... I wouldn't want to be responsible if they'd lose their funds.

On the other hand, if they'd made up their own mind and just asked me for assistance, i would gladly help them out Smiley
Same with my POV. I would never crossed the line and convince other people to invest into bitcoin, even if they are my close relatives or family members. Bitcoin has a lot of risks, and anyone who will only invest for its quick profits will never be good enough into bitcoin investment. They can always ask me how bitcoin works and how we can profit from it, it’s up to them if they will invest on it or not.
654  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin- Beginners fear for exploration on: March 10, 2023, 06:52:26 PM
I also have the desire to get the benefits of Bitcoin and other crypto currency. but as a newbie, I still have this fear that I may not be able to withstand the risk involved. Can anyone advice me on this?
Even though everyone here believes that Bitcoin is not going anywhere and that it will be worth much more than it is worth now, it is still a fact that its a high risk investment.

It is normal to be afraid to be afraid of something that you don't know much about so what you can do is educate yourself about all the pros and cons and if you are still afraid and think that you can't handle the volatility and being responsible for safety of your money, better stay away from it.

My point also is that if you keep on thinking that you can’t withstand the risk, then you won’t really be successful in any investment endeavor since all investments has its own risk. Instead, focus on positivity and that you can do everything as long as you become educated on the investment you are going to enter. Risks will always be there, but you can always lessen the risk and take advantage over the investment if you can understand well the nature of the investment and how it will be profitable in the long run.
655  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: When to sell bitcoin before the next bear market starts? on: March 10, 2023, 12:50:36 PM
The best time to sell is when you see it as best time or you have made profits and now you want to exit the market cashing out profits but if you ask from others they can't tell you about this.So you are the one making this decision seeing if you want to sell or you see they will go down the next cycle and can buy again at dip but it should be your own decision.
Being too greedy will hinder selling, at some point we will need to sell so it will be better to sell when we already reach certain amount of that investment maybe a x2 or x10 still depending on our coins and how much we invest. We we're not sure when will the price will be high or low so when we got a opportunity to sell at higher price then better sell and just buy back once there is a chance to buy lower.
I would say the best time to sell is when you sell for profits, regardless if it’s the best price or not. Because if you keep on waiting for the perfect time to sell, you will never know if it’s the best price or not as the market will always comes unpredictable. So to avoid missing again the opportunities to sell and make profits, then take time to sell when you see the market price is positive enough, and buy more and do DCA when the market is showing a good buying opportunity. That way, you will never miss out every single opportunity in the crypto market.
656  Economy / Economics / Re: The cost of living is trying to kill the living on: March 10, 2023, 10:50:32 AM
Dealing with inflation is getting harder each day. It seems like we are just working to pay bills that are getting more expensive and continuously increasing even if we try to save and lessen our consumption. Big families are deeply hit by this inflation and e children are suffering. Unfortunately, in our country, the government only does a temporary solution to this problem. They are just giving a small amount of penny which will not help in the long run. I think if we want to survive this crisis we have to double our jobs and always look for alternative ways to make money because we can't rely on anyone especially the government who are also taking advantage of the situation.
I think everyone can relate that this rising inflation is never good in the long run, as we become poorer and poorer while trying to attend to our needs with their highly increasing prices. And I don’t think this will still be controllable by the government. So the best remedy for this is to increase our income as much as we can. Settling in a single job is never advisable anymore as you can actually extend your free time working on any job that requires your skills. That way, the more you engage in different side hustles, the higher your compensation is.
657  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you feel selling your BTC against your plans? on: March 10, 2023, 09:16:08 AM
I would be surprised if someone would feel positive when something goes against regards his plans. Of course a person would feel bad if he is forced to sell his holdings before the price hits the amount he has set as a goal. Such urgent trades never goes good, as people not only sell at a lowest price, but also lose quite a hefty amount on commissions, because they dont have time to search for best offer on the market.

Gladly I was never in a situation like OP described. Mostly because of money pillow and money management. The money I invest in crypto I count as already spent money, so I never turn to them as an emergency funds. There is only one reason that can force me to turn to crypto funds and sell them - my or my family members health issues.
Well, as long as the concerns are already the health of our family, I guess there’s always a rush feeling to do everything whatever it takes as long as we end up saving them. Even spending the last portion of our bitcoin, just to see our loved ones safe. However, if we can both save significant amount in fiat and bitcoin, maybe we won’t be compromising the need to spend our bitcoin as long as fiat can fully cover all the expenses. But I think only few people do this, as they give more emphasis on investment funds and leave few amount in saving fiat, or the other way around.
658  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Need help - How to do signeture camping .. on: March 09, 2023, 09:22:58 PM
You don't have to learn anything about signature campaigns, it basically just entails wearing a signature/avatar and complying with specific campaign rules. What you need to work on is your contribution to the forum as that is your passport to joining a signature campaign. Without merits you can't rank up, and if you don't rank up you can't join signature campaigns, thus you need to develop your communication skills and crypto knowledge which would enable you become a helpful user and rank up in the process. Mind you that if you solely concentrate on signature campaigns from the get-go, you might end up never participating in one OR you might join bounties out of desperation/frustration.
What you need to learn is to become a productive member in the campaign and you will only do that if you start learning in the forum and trying to understand every topic that is being raised in the forum. Once you gain your own idea, then do not afraid to interact in the forum discussion. That way, you will be corrected of your thought if there is a need to, and you will be merited if other member find your post beneficial in the forum. Just learn the basics first before you enter a more challenging part, and that is participating a signature campaign.
659  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is it legal for our kids to learn trade? on: March 09, 2023, 08:29:22 PM
I want to know if it right for children that are of 10-15years go in to trade or not
When I was a kid in age 10 - 15 years old, my parents mostly did not allow me to touch money. They bought food, juice, water and other things I need for my life and my education, they did it because they want to protect me from many risk related to money.

They did give me very small amount of money each day just because they wanted me to enjoy childhood fun like buying a candy, ice cream then enjoy eating it with friends at school. That's all and with such small money, I can not do anything else.

I don't agree to let your kids knowing about trading too much as they have yet been able to earn money and at such ages, they should concentrate on learning. That is better for their later lives. They should have time to enjoy most interesting time in life of each person.

If parents can not control themselves in trading, why do they think of exposing their children with trading and believe that their children will be able to control emotion.
Certainly, trading is for only matured minds and for those who have their own source of living so that if they lose, it would be easy for them to accept that since they never rely on it actually. But for minors who only rely their funds from their parents, entering into trading will never make them profitable, instead they will only lose their money because they still have no enough ideas on how to do trading effectively. Once they lost their money, they will ask again from their parents and then they’ll lose it again, so it’s clear that they can’t still manage their own emotions and might even develop addiction at an early age which for me is very bad for them. Instead of enjoying their money in school, they deprived theirselves from spending it so they can save them for trading.

I welcome you to this exciting bitcoin world. I just hope that you are never one of those who only see bitcoin as a get-rich-quick scheme because if you do that, you will never last longer in the market. And while you are still eager to invest more, then always do DCA when there are good buying opportunities so you can maximize your purchase even with a small amount of fiat. And always be patient.
