661  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: July 16, 2017, 07:09:04 PM
The crypto space is undoubtedly winning huge right now. We haven't even seen a real bubble yet. I have a strong feeling that cryptocurrency will end up being one of the biggest bubbles in human history. A real bubble would be something like the South Sea Company in 1720. At its peak, the market cap for the South Sea Company exceeded Britain's GDP by several times. With cryptocurrency, we have international reach, so I think a bubble in the range of 5-10 Trillion USD is not unrealistic. This would imply Bitcoin at $100,000+, and Monero at $10,000+.

...and what ultimately happened to the South Sea Company ?  Hopefully you are picking and choosing only those parts of the comparison that suit.

There is NO way this will continue falling without a correction all the way to $1000. We are oversold on almost every time frame except the monthly. Like I wrote we are approaching some kind of a bottom. It could be a brief local bottom where we continue downwards or it could be a final bottom before new ath. Time will tell.

Agree. I am looking at the medium to long term. Of course there will be corrections, but the trend is now down, and there will not be a new all time high for a couple of years or more.

for ethereum yes, for bitcoin no
enjoy your lost opportunity

We will find out !  I will play it as I see it. Maybe I'm not completely right. Timing is also difficult, but I am confident of the big picture.

If the price were to get decisively above 3000 and stay there, that would indicate that I have to rethink.
And if it went back to 2800? Would that make you reconsider or would you still be bearish?
IMO this correction is not a change of long term trend and won't make us wait a year for anything big. It's just the effect of people withdrawing their funds from exchanges either to their wallets or to fiat as they were told by many, including moderators of this forum.

The adoption price curve moves in large waves . Each one ends in an exponential blow-off. The size of the fall off the high, is a good indication that the top is in. There has also been a failed retest, which is even more evidence.

Nothng is 100 % certain, but it's a good guide. Balance of probabilities. I would rather have sold out at 2500-2700, and have to buy back at 3000, than be holding during the long bear wave.

This is a repeat of early 2014, the patterns are easy to see. The variation now is that the alts have a larger share of total market capitalisation. Capital will flow back to BTC, but it will not reverse the trend overall.

2 year view, BTC will fall 65% from the peak, alts will fall 70-90%  (with many going to zero ultimately)
665  Economy / Speculation / Re: Nights Watch by Afrikoin on: July 16, 2017, 11:42:34 AM
Hi guys,

So what to do? Sell low And buy lower? Is the new thing?

Any advice its sinking deeper...

I'd say we are getting close to a bottom. Maybe another $100-$200 down. Then we will move up again at least over a shorter time frame. The big test will be if this is a local bottom or a final bottom were the bull continues.

Disagree. The top is in. ~$3000.  It would have been more, but Alts absorbed a lot of the Market Capital on this phase.

The exponential top is crystal clear for anyone to see.

It is just the latest iteration in the adoption curve of BTC and now all Digital Currencies. Look at the long term charts.

The next phase is a fall to around $1000, over the coming months.  (Alts will fare much worse).

The next upswing will not be until late 2018-19.

I have been looking at MGO and GAME and I am really starting to like the potential.

At the current GAME price $2.40 I think it could be a good buy. 63 million token supply and they are about to launch a 30 million dollar advertising campaign in August to attract new users. This will include commercials, billboards, etc. You think the price of GAME can go up to $50+ during a good bull run?

I would think $4 is a more likely target, sometime in 2018.  Its a good return for a year or so, 200% profit from the current $1.30.  Might go below $1 first though.

It's an artificial spike. Not exactly a man made/planned pump. In flow of coins has halted so current coins on market are inflated from demand. It's not a pump by a coin holder by manipulating the market, but a system update based inflation.

As soon as the flood gates/wallet opens, every one with coins will be selling. Very few would be buying.
The value will then drastically drop since the depth isn't there to sustain high value.

I have 389k hbn. I can personally drop the value into the 10-30 satoshi range if I dumped my wallet.

Why would you say that ?

You never know what forces will come into play on price changes, either + or -
668  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] E-CurrencyCoin Thread [CryptoBank Development] on: July 12, 2017, 11:20:34 PM
This is Nonsense.

The domain had expired and these clowns have trouble even keeping their crappy site online.

Something is not right here. They don't even have one paragraph explaining ECC e currency coin.

 Huh

You have NO idea what you are talking about do you? The project was left to die by the original developers. This coin has been around much longer than you and will be here after your gone. The current dev is working to salvage ECC and bring it back to life. I suggest you learn before you post or, just shut your yap. When you have been here as long as Griffith, perhaps you can speak again.

Don't be rude to the newbie trolls  Cheesy

There are lots of projects which are nothing but fluff, so many people are nervous. Best not to promote ECC until the wallet etc.. is more stable and well tested. In the meantime, get the sellers out to produce supply at a nice low price.
669  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: SUPERCOIN'S REVIVAL on: July 09, 2017, 04:59:21 PM
Mr. Griffith is the maintenance man, and we owe him big thanks for that.
However, Supercoin currently have no DEV, and no community. Maybe dozen bagholders...
Also, Supercoin is not on any notable exchange site....

Here is what I have come up with. I will be doing more testing, so might be some tweaks but this should be pretty solid.

Proof of Work Limits

From Block 5.6m PoW will only be accepted after a Stake block, or 10minutes with no block.
From Block 6.0m PoW will only be accepted after 10 mins with no block.
Bump to version 1.5.3.0 and update Proto Version, will send alerts.
Bump back down the DB version , as LevelDB1.9 "should" work fine as a drop in with LevelDB 1.7

Let me know your feedback if you have it.

First of all, Tranz, I really respect you. But 5-6 million blocks is very, very much for computer resources, especially if you have a lot of POS coins.
Why not make a hardfork with a new blockchain? We need to do the simplest swap scheme. For example, the user downloads a new wallet v.2, replaces the v.2 wallet.dat file with old v.1 wallet.dat file, and starts working with the new blockchain. I remember, so did in the Syscoin project.
Thus, even if someone misses the swap process, he will never lose his share. And this can be done every 2-3 years.
Please consider my proposal.

If this can be done without serious issues (that is quite a big if) , then it is a good suggestion.  The resource consumption of the wallet does deter a lot of users.

I know Tranz is opposed to swaps, and he is the one who would have to do the coding, no mean feat. Isn't a swap is like creating a new coin : lots of potential for bugs, and a whole design project ?

Perhaps there are capable coders who would could put something together as an example for others (including Tranz)  to look over ? Then the community can begin to discuss it.

I am ignorant of code, so apologies for the crudeness of the suggestion !

Price of GAME drowning in despair and relatively more than the other coins?
It just can't hold it's price

any specific reason?

It had a big growth in the last year, now comes the reaction.

Remember only 4 months ago the price crossed $1 for the first time. A fall back there over the next few months would not break the long term growth trend.

All the alt coins have had a parabolic rise, and the crash back could now be underway. I think Game will fare better than most. There will be many falls of 90% +

Daemon running but I open wallet with error 19119 is refused. Any suggest?

Don't attempt to open the wallet. Wait for new version.
673  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★★★ GameCredits - The future of in-game monetization ★★★ on: July 04, 2017, 09:59:57 AM
Please clear up something for me. GAME is primarily used to purchase games cheaper then with fiat money right? Do you guys ever consider teaming up with huge game develop firms like Riot, Blizzard, Valve etc. in order for game to become a currency within their games? So you could like purchase skins/guns/cars in their games, that would be nuts in adoption of GAME.

Big firms like that have their own ways to monetize games, and they will protect their own profits. I would think it would be difficult to offer them something of value to their (perceived) future bottom-line.

It is about control of the monetary aspects. I am sure someone else can elaborate further on the sort of strategy required.
674  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] E-CurrencyCoin Thread [CryptoBank Development] on: June 28, 2017, 09:16:47 AM
That was the plan...and the reason I held on to 50m of the 236,797,646 I started with(there were two addresses), but after having to run a maze of closed threads to find this one, reading here, and trying to use these wallets I don't have any confidence.

One exchange with one pairing and that's perpetually down due to poorly coded wallets. This is a hot mess. Is there even a timeframe available for when this mess will be fixed? A week plus of no exchanges? Ridiculous.

Nah, not in over my head. not even close. Ive been coding for years and its literally my day job. I know exactly what im doing. Feel free to rage/ be salty all you want. not gunna stop you. just from this point on keep it out of the thread so other people can post and be heard. you have gotten your point across already

Good reply !

There are always bound to be some bugs, and revisions are the nature of progress.

Thanks for your attention and work... Looking forward to the new wallet version.
675  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] E-CurrencyCoin Thread [CryptoBank Development] on: June 27, 2017, 11:44:02 PM

The only good news is that I've managed to dump over 200m of these fail coins to date. Assuming there's ever a working wallet in my hands AND a working wallet at coinex I hope to dump my remaining 50m failcoins and wash my hands of this entire mess.

Hmm... Why would you not keep the remainder for posterity ? Sold 80% of your holding, is that not enough ?

I agree it is most likely that this will ultimately fail, but what if it doesn't ? You will become another bitter troll who sold out before the big time action.

Look at the odds.

Fail : Very Likely, modest loss. Succeed : Unlikely, but could be 10x return.
676  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★★★ GameCredits - The future of in-game monetization ★★★ on: June 27, 2017, 10:19:10 AM
This is a positive overview article you may enjoy reading while the whole crypto-world burns.

http://www.livebitcoinnews.com/gamecredits-mobilego-new-era-online-mobile-gaming/

Sloppily written article.  If they are going to talk about price, at least they should get their decimal points/units correct.

Price analysis is very suspect and superficial : they should have left it out, rather than devalue the whole piece.

Price in any case will be swayed by the whole crypto market , especially in the crash we all know is coming (exact timing uncertain)  after this current bubble bursts. Game won't track the other cryptos, but there will be substantial influence.

The break in the market will be a good time for Game to consolidate development. I would guess that the next price boom is a year or two down the line.
677  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] HUSH Secure Private Transactions [Equihash][Community Project] on: June 26, 2017, 12:05:35 AM
Come up with a reason why we should buy it.

The price is currently low.

And low price means it cannot drop even more? Wink

The trend is down , then.

Trends go on a lot longer than most ppl expect.
678  Economy / Speculation / Re: Nights Watch by Afrikoin on: June 25, 2017, 11:22:17 PM
Is that an inverse H&S on the 30d chart?

looks like it.

technicals look bullish

But fundamentals, not so great

Im privy to some events that might unfold over the next days that will trump fundamentals and surprise many.

trade technicals with caution

courtesy of btc slack

well these would be negative events then as you say these events are counter to the bullish technicals.

I think we are bullish because of the perception that negatives may be behind us.

Are the negatives you are referring to completely unknown to the market or are being factored out or otherwise ignored?

Technicals :  Double Tops are in.

Fundamentals :  Forks imminent, disagreements are endemic now.

Both seem to be negative .

There has to be a top to the exponential rise at some point.

Today we released the newest version of our block explorer! Feel free to check it out here: https://blockexplorer.gamecredits.com/home

I know it's not a priority in development schedule, but this explorer version still doesn't seem to show correct balances on an address search. (many with balances show as Nil, many have part balances)

The Page Title that appears in the browser tab (Firefox) is 'Blockexploder' .

Hopefully just a few simple fixes are required , but it does look rather amatuerish to leave it that way.

Game does not yet have a Block Explorer that works simply and correctly.
Explorer is being updated every couple of days. Exploder is intentional. A little quirk of our developers that a lot of people don't like. I'll ask them to change it.

Many thanks for the reply !

The addresses that I checked (many of them, of which I am sure of the transactions that have taken place) showed very inconsistent results both for the format of transactions and for the balances.

I personally believe that the coding and development is sound, but if I were a less experienced holder, this would not inspire confidence at all IMO.

Again, I realise that this is a low priority matter compared with the promotion and progression of the main development.
