1041  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SuperCoin [TC Team] Now with 100%POS Multipool on: February 16, 2015, 08:49:48 PM

...
what the goal of this was, is a first step to making using crpyto-currencies and altcoins in general a 1 stop experience for the user. a lot of the problems people see with bitcoin stem from the fact that the original users were seen as all "tech nerds" and that right now, for the person who isnt tech savvy it is a hard method to use. a lot of the movement recently in terms of expanding bitcoin has been making it easier for the average person to use. that is what we are trying to do with wallets right now. the first step was to make the wallet able to incorporate trading for people looking to move coins around,. next step is to finalize a wallet that holds the multiple coins that people want to use in one code base. i plan on contacting a USD/BTC exchange about incorporating some of theri resources one or two steps down the road in wallet development in order to move toward the goal that we will have one application with the ability to do all crypto related things.

Well thought-out, progressive move !
1042  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [VIA] ★ Viacoin ★ ~ the future of digital currency ~ ★ on: February 16, 2015, 05:21:56 PM
The up between the double bottom was created by zynga fake news. These charts are working on high volume markets but usually not on altcoins. For me the chart looks like razorcoin lol

The real questions are: Is a whale still exiting with slow sells and who is absorbing all the sells? Is there still any work behind the scenes? Only news can push the price up in my opinion and bring confidence back to via.

I still believe in via but a little bit more communication would be appreciated  Wink

VIA is in a position similar to many other Alt Coins, waiting for new interest and incoming money. There is an important difference, in that VIA  and XCH are a purpose-built blockchain and asset registration system, which is better suited to the role for which the Derivatives exchanges (and other commerce) are currently searching.

http://www.thetimes.co.uk/tto/business/industries/banking/article4354987.ece

The KEY advantages of VIA/XCH are Speed, Robust Tested Technology, and Availability of the underlying units (price wise). The blockchain could effectively be majority bought by an exchange and used 'off the peg'.

Anyone considered this might actually be deliberate? Make investors freak out so they can buy lots at a low price. Accumulate, then release software.

Of course. That's for us to guess.
1044  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Checkcoin] Explore the world using Checkcoin [PR PHASE] on: February 16, 2015, 11:04:58 AM
I think we should just let the natural law of crypto decide whether CKC lives or dies. Personally I'm gonna keep my coins even if they reach 0 sat, not because I'm hoping the value will bounce back but because I always meant to stick with CKC to the end. It is totally understandable that some would prefer to cut losses before that happens though. As for exchanges, even if we lose Bittrex, we're likely to remain on Cryptsy for a very long time, they very rarely remove coins and they're one of the oldest and most trusted altcoin exchanges out there. I think people who are still hoping to get rich with CKC should get out now and recoup some of their investment, this phase is only for those who've got no expectations and nothing to lose. You can always get back in if ever CKC bounces back Smiley

+1

No expectations. Same with most coins anyway.
1045  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Public message to BTER on: February 15, 2015, 10:35:01 PM
OP traded real btc for those shitcoins and expects to make millions I LOL'd

Some altcoins will succeed long-term, but leaving such large amounts on an exchange is a bad idea.

True .....Hardly any altcoins can grow in the long term. The Crypto world is a wild-west, and hacks are just one part of the risk. Any left on exchanges should be expendable.
1046  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Public message to BTER on: February 15, 2015, 06:32:24 PM
Altcoins SHOULD not be affected.

Affected by what exactly?
What is the difference between bitcoins and altcoins in that regard?

If BTER Bitcoin wallet was hacked as it may show here :

http://www.walletexplorer.com/wallet/Bter.com-cold

Then altcoins should all be perfectly fine and the "community" gets to help out the victims via donations to a fund, easier done than said if we put ourselves in their spot.

thanks for the info.
I hope this will get sorted out and at least altcoins will become available again

That is the aim. I expect BTER will implement their statement, and many traders will support them in this respect.

I have supported many exchanges that were hacked, and recovered in some form. It is to the great credit of BTER to return coin balances as soon as practicable: Small holders tend to panic easily, but wealthy members of the Crypto community have a lot of support to give to reputable exchange owners.
1047  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Checkcoin] Explore the world using Checkcoin [PR PHASE] on: February 15, 2015, 01:33:19 AM

As far a I know the ICO funds are not spend and converted into Euro.
This coin has future but I continue my support after an update from Bitsent and I hope before delisting day in 7 days.

Gotto be more realistic here. Money has been used to pay developers, traintickets, designer, etc. No idea if Bitsend has charged the Checkcoin fund for their own salary. Without a detailed ledger with all costs it's hard to guess how much is left. I would think maybe half of the btc raised and at time of conversion around US$300 it would be US$21,000. But this is a very wild guess.

Not very much really. Hopefully there will be another offering (with news) soon, so the devs can get a bit more money in.
1048  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Checkcoin] Explore the world using Checkcoin [PR PHASE] on: February 13, 2015, 12:31:50 AM
I still want to know what the IPO money was used for...

I don't want to know.
1049  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SuperCoin [TC Team] Now with 100%POS Multipool on: February 12, 2015, 08:30:21 AM

This one was used for some time.  It seems OK to me : Does anyone have objections ?
1050  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [QRK] Quark | Core 0.9.2.3 on: February 11, 2015, 12:40:42 AM
What are your predictions for Quark. Could it possibly hit $0.1??

nobody knows ;-)

Well, it hit 0.25 about 15 months ago, so why not ?
1051  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SuperCoin [TC Team] Now with 100%POS Multipool on: February 11, 2015, 12:33:41 AM

ϟuperCoin

This one is growing on me. Simple, clean and distinctive, with a strong positive feel.
1052  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Checkcoin] Explore the world using Checkcoin [PR PHASE] on: February 08, 2015, 12:46:01 AM
They have to find investors from outside of crypto and that is the best way in my opninion.

So explain to me what was the IPO money used for?

This question keeps coming up but no one has the answer to it.

See quote below. That is enough for me at the moment.

The community of Checkcoin should not be afraid that the Team of Bitsend will ever leave this project before finishing it.

We will come back with a detailed update within 20 days.

Kind regards,

Bitsend

I do not need to know what the IPO money was used for, if it was used yet. I believe Bitsend should divulge as little as possible at this stage.
1053  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Checkcoin] Explore the world using Checkcoin [PR PHASE] on: February 08, 2015, 12:44:12 AM
You shoudln't associate yourselfs with this scam, even worse one may think you are the only one behind this and making  a final attempt to raise the price to better dump  your remaining coins.

Have you contacted themselves by mail or by phone? I have. This is longterm my friend. No quick money. They have to find investors from outside of crypto and that is the best way in my opninion. Call them by yourself and don't spread fud, if you haven't talked to Bitsend by yourself. They are very open to discuss.

http://www.bitsend.nl/contact
I keep buying at ths price levels.
The posibilities are enormously and and expected price increase also!
Never sell my 500K $CKC at current price levels!

Buying any decent quantity of coins offered at low levels is a good option bet.
1054  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SuperCoin [TC Team] Now with 100%POS Multipool on: February 07, 2015, 12:38:51 AM
if someone would like to submit a new logo. (going to need a high resolution picture so making it different sizes wont distort quality). then feel free to submit one for everyone to see and if people like it. i can easily replace it in the new wallets

That's good. Maybe give the community a week of two to produce a selection ?
1055  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Checkcoin] Explore the world using Checkcoin [PR PHASE] on: February 03, 2015, 11:13:36 AM
Marked for delisting on C-CEX too..
https://c-cex.com/?p=ckc-btc

so sad,..
even bitsend no care about this

I note that the original IPO was priced cheaply.. did not give the dev team a lot of capital to work with... The clever way (and this is routinely worked in stock markets) would be to manage news (ie none) keeping the price low for some time to enable market purchases at lower levels whilst giving breathing space for real work and development.

I really don't know about CKC, but this is actually going on in several coins right now, and is a great way to stick it to the trolls  Wink

1056  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CASH] Crypto CASH | Proof of Stake & COIN CONTROL | On Cryptsy | 0 PREMINE on: February 01, 2015, 12:54:26 AM
How much CASH was created till now? I don't have a wallet installed to check it and coinmarketcap does not work well on POS coins. Is there some working explorer?

I think it's around 9-9.5 million.

I wish someone would kill this inflation and max cap too.  45 million is too high.  Look at unbreakable, only 2 million coins, up 5,000% in 1 week.

I realize it's a lot more than that but max cap or market cap is what all investors look at when deciding if a coin is a good buy.

Disagree. Supply has no (0% IMO) bearing on investment interest. The size and activity of the community (assuming a good stable technology) is the critical factor. Having a constantly increasing supply can actually promote activity and price if it can find its way to fresh recruits.
1057  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Checkcoin] Explore the world using Checkcoin [PR PHASE] on: February 01, 2015, 12:50:29 AM
No communications
No roadmap
Nobody on Twitter talks about Checkcoin
Dev logged in on January 21st for the last time
No updates
Nothing substantial for over 7 months

'I still have faith' & 'cheap coins' are the cries of disaffected bagholders of a coin which has no future anymore.
Last stop is 100sat before oblivion.

The idea is still awesome, but you people should realize the dream is over.

like i said '' Nothing can do
sell out all the coin or fight  Smiley

Yes it's exactly that. There is nothing that anyone can do but wait at this point. I personally will not be selling my coins because I still believe in the idea of geocaching in crypto and I can afford to lose the money I've invested without shedding a tear or getting angry. Investment, especially in crypto, is such that you can't build your dream based on projected future riches regardless of how safe the investment feels. The minute I part with my money, it no longer exists. If something comes of it, great, if not well, I haven't lost anything anyway  Smiley

+1

Yes : two choices:

1. Wait and have faith (or not if you like)

2. Sell out.

This applies to nearly all cryptocurrencies atm. Markets being what they are, all these possibilities are usually priced-in, so selling out gets a pittance anyway.

Astonishing how many snipers and trolls (in every coin) continue to post negativity. If they were really 'out' of the coin they would not be bothering. I suggest that they are actually 'in' and waiting (without the faith), which is a great way to irritate and upset themselves.
1058  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AnimeCoin [アニメコイン] ANI (New Thread!) on: January 29, 2015, 09:15:36 AM

Konnichiwa こんにちは friends! : )

I came here to mention that on this month (January) is commemorated the first anniversary for Animecoin. So happy Anniversary to the Animecoin Community! : )

I also took the initiative to open a new official Animecoin twitter account since the other one is not being fed anymore.

In this twitter account I will be posting news about Animecoin / Anime and why not? I also will be putting links to new Anime episodes placed on crunchyroll.com

I will be announcing some of the new Anime episodes here on bitcointalk in order for this thread to stay alive.

1059  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [VIA] ★ Viacoin ★ ~ the future of digital currency ~ ★ on: January 27, 2015, 10:49:38 PM
^^ Is this really the response the viacoin community is going to leave with for this concern? When there is no valid explanation we just sweep any crticism/concern under the rug?

a. It's a free world, in which anyone can invest as they like, as much as the like/ have/ or believe in a project.

b. OTOH has proven to be a legit long-term hodler, far from the P&D type.

c. BTCdrak has proven to be a legit long-term hodler, far from the P&D type.

d. BTCdrak holds funds of the 'community'. they are not his. These funds are used to support the development of Viacoin & CH. If your point is that there needs to be agreement / control / consensus / multi-sig / whatever on these accounts, then my response is that this has never been debated as BTCdrak has earned himself reputation as responsible and fully dedicated, and i myself have no fears of him scamming me etc.

e. OTOH holds 1.5m coins out of 13m coins. that is far from having a 'control' over the coinbase. Furthermore, more coins are mined every 24sec, so next year his stack will be of merely several percents of the coinbase... i.e. nothing to be alarmed from, and certainly not in a position of control.

f. A few days ago, someone bought 100k viacoins in less than an hour... It is a free market, and you are invited to buy as much as you want. In today's prices, if you desire to reach a similar 'control' stake as OTOH, it takes merely 150BTC of investment...

I am not naive, and I am somewhat paranoid... but my decision to support Viacoin is completely rational, and i'm not trying to hide any of your points under the carpet. Many of us in this community have noted these points before, considered and evaluated the risks of being scammed, and eventually concluded that this coin is legit, the developers and their efforts are real, their progress is real, and we support it... in spite of FUD and self concerns that i'm sure everyone has at some point or another.

+1. It's an act of faith. There is no rational argument to be had, indeed it is counter productive to make a good case.

Decent developers get on with the job, get enough capital together, and lots of reward too.
1060  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SuperCoin Takeover by Trusted-Cryptos Team [Griffith] on: January 27, 2015, 10:44:08 PM
I was reading opinions and comments above... and... Hey!I'm still here.

I don't know intensions of others who are not here, but I am not recognizing almost anybody. All previous supporters are gone, or left, or quiet, or somewhere else, depressed, or pissed of, depending on the financial or some other status.

My 2 cents: I have lost all my money investing in Supercoin when the price was greater. I can twit, or write sugestions, or whatewer you think, but, I'm wasted about all this, and all what I could say to this new community would not produce good vibes, so that's the reason why I'm not talking much. Still have some hopes, and I would like for this coin to rise and shy.

Good luck to us all.

im not sure that after the initial takeover that people expected it to take so long for me to produce finished products. but its just me coding on a language that im not 100% comfortable with (referring to js for the multipool). and its not like this is the only thing i do in a day either.... for the next few days i will be working to make the pool run better, with less code, and adding more mineable coins. i will be adding BTC mining as soon as i can with a large hash following on that, XPM will be available soon.

a few notes on that: no blocks through the scrypt port have been found yet. however i will be making some adjustments to that as soon as possible so that we find blocks faster and more frequently with less hash power (yes there is a way to do this, although it does require a lot of hash power, just slightly less).

a few START Blocks have been found on the X11 port, so thats good to see. someone has been making a lot of startcoins (which will be converted into their payout coin of choice)

bear with me guys. im working as fast as i can while still producing a reliable product

That is absolutely the right track. Nothing worthwhile is created quickly and easily....Most of the Cryptocurrency communities are composed of people looking for quick bucks. Solid slow action, without hype, shakes them out of the system, and that is good.
