At 2 Satoshi, ANI is very cheap . However there are not many sellers in quantity. Most of the coin is tightly held.

Well dev can you please give some concrete info. Are you killing this version of the coin? Time is kind of ticking on this coin. The fact that the few places that are trading this coin are already locked down at .*2 sell .*1 buy  and the amounts of coins avail at the moment are quite large with no slowdown in sight its soon to become just a pump and dump coin wich does nothing for anyone except the scammer.

Just tell us whats up.

fyi if anyone is going to dump you can tfer 1000 at a time :/

There is no hurry. The coin needs large amounts available in the first instance to tempt new buyers. Small steps to begin. A 1sat buy and 2sat sell is fine for now, but a coin doesn't need to trade to be viable.

Animecoin is what it is. It cannot be replaced. It has been in trade hibernation for a while, and can go back there if need be.
925  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CRYPTO BULLION (CBX) | Powered by PoSP | Est. 2013 on: March 30, 2016, 08:24:38 PM
As long as there is a huge Wall Offer of CBX seen in Cryptopia, the Wall Buster Incentive Program continues!

Here is more info about this incentive program to help acquire some CBX from that seller, at a discounted price: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=951753.msg14234456#msg14234456

We are getting pretty close to the end of this wall, let's keep up the buying!

Reminder: this offer applies to medium/long term CBX stake purchases; please send back to your personal Vault any CBX bought with this program.

How do we know when we are getting near the end of the 'wall' ? The WBIP is really just a supporting bid (and there is nothing wrong with that), but the term 'Wall' IMO is misused.

What happens when the wall is gone ?  Will there be lower offers or lower bids..that is what will determine future price.

If you create a new blokcheyn, the majority of users which supported the currency simply turn away from it.
I do not see any reason to kill that we supported all these years.
Price is formed primarily from the confidence in the currency.
No one will re-invest the money in the currency if its creator will burn them.
Do not forget that a very large number of people have prejudices against anime culture.
My opinion: if you want to start all over again - create a new different currency.

Ditto

Yes..
Starting a new blockchain is starting a new currency. Use the same name and it's piracy.
927  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alt coins worth buying on: March 28, 2016, 11:12:54 PM
The ethereum could be a good coin to buy. It has strong developers and some big companies support it.

Ethereum is now a no-go solution. Except if you want to take the risk to ride the waves, this coin is definitly not suited for a long-term hold. However, there's still a chance for you to become rich with it, but you'll need to wait at least 4 months (an eternity in the crypto-currencies world) the time that it goes PoS.

What effect will PoS have ? Is that not a good step forward ?
928  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Anime [Tip and be tipped with Animecoin] アニメコイン ANI on: March 28, 2016, 09:23:35 PM

You ever get to the store and pay for your food only to get to the parking lot and have the cashier come running out screaming excuse me sir we have decided that you need to pay a little more because my supervisor works really hard and he deserves more money? Don't think so. As I said. Choices have already been made and here we are. The question is, is this coin going to suck it up and move forward or should we all just burn our coins right now before it becomes another DEAD Anime Coin?

Choices have been made, as you say. Anime has No Premine as a founding principle, to change that is to end the project. Plenty of coins do fine with premines, but the administrators of those funds have to be trusted by all subsequent investors/participants in perpetuity.  No premine is hard and slow to grow, but if it does, the foundations are better.

All small alts are dead as a default nowadays, the only ones that have are chance are the ones that can be trusted.
929  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Anime [Tip and be tipped with Animecoin] アニメコイン ANI on: March 28, 2016, 09:13:26 PM
again why did the OP highlight one thing in big bold letters? because no premine is one of the few things this coin has going for it.

if a coin has value plenty will work for it for free. likely if you have to pay a programmer 1) the selling of said coins automatic downward spiral on price 2) such programmers are unlikely to stay if the going gets tough.

you do realise also reviving with premine will get it delisted from its current exchange.

and again settle on acting like i'm the enemy, when i'd like to see the coin succeed. i just don't think you guys have thought out your plans that well.

Yes...let me put it another way :

Non-premine is a good concept, but premine has a purpose, which is speeding a process of development. There are examples of each type doing well.

As you rightly point out, the existence of dedicated funds (in a premine) is no guarantee they will be used for the right purpose.

Anime is one of those that has chosen, at the outset, to be fairly distributed, even though it means development will be slow (because there are not dedicated funds for it)
The whole point of a Cryptocurrency is that the principles at the inception are adhered-to thoughout. Any forks etc just for the furtherance of the original aims.

A few of those who argue for a premine are altruistic (rightly so), but the vast majority just want the profits of seigniorage for themseves (those are actually 'the elite few', not the holders who bought/mined early.)
930  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alt coins worth buying on: March 20, 2016, 10:49:50 AM
There is no definite answer to your question as everyone has different ideas on what makes a good investment. All i can say is to do research and invest in coins in which you see potential, remember just because a coin is feature rich does not mean that it will succeed NXT being a prime example. Personally i am invested heavily in bitcoin, litecoin, peercoin and dogecoin as these tend to follow each other when BTC price increases. They are also some of the oldest altcoins around and have considerable staying power. They are also all in the top ten at coinmarketcap.

Apart from those i am also invested in primecoin, foldingcoin and namecoin. Namecoin and primecoin have great potential if they can be developed further. Foldingcoin uses pow mining to find cures for diseases so my investment in that is more of a donation to miners. I was also invested in dash at one time but after a lot of scam accusations against the devs and my own research i decided to sell as it might be a scam, it's price over the last 3 months has also tanked 40% and that further contributed to my decision to dump dash.

All in all do your research, buy coins, put them away and hope the price goes up. It's all or nothing in the crypto game.

All or nothing.  Yes eventually, long run.

Every big winner has to go through a transition stage of dramatic price increase, so a small amount in each of a few speculations is good.

A good portfolio should include alts of very different sizes and types . A core of large ones : (ETH, Dash, Doge)  The older small ones undergoing revival or technical improvement are a fair bet. (eg Supercoin, Hobonickels, Cryptobullion). Plus a few with very different hash/profile (Primecoin, Monero VPN).

With the smaller coins, it's important to check that the wallet works well, the dev is active, there is a good block explorer, and an active forum.

*****update blockexplorer*****

Hi guys,

the blockexplorer is nearly finished.
Final testing phase now, if we don't find any further bugs we will release it in the next 2h.

The Richlist isnt filled yet, we are also thinking about disableing it.

What do you think? Do you need/want a richlist?

Apart from the vanity of the big holders, a Richlist is useful for anyone trying to assess the distribution : Most prospective buyers are put off by a large % held in few hands. So you could argue either way .. A widely held coin would definitely benefit from a Richlist.
932  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] CommunityCoin (COMM) | Pure PoS | Original COMM MultiPools Coming Soon on: March 17, 2016, 12:35:46 AM

Thanks

There are a lot of ppl watching from time to time. The distribution was pretty good !

It might be that HBN and CAPS are more alive on cryptocointalk. I know tranz had mentioned that he preferred it there. I've been busy beyond belief for close to a year, now, and this is really the only forum I'm on these days. So that's speculation.

Same here.  I just look into BTCTalk now and again : Many posters are busy with other work.. busy communities are scarce.
936  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AnimeCoin [アニメコイン] ANI (New Thread!) on: February 27, 2016, 12:39:49 AM

I'll be opening a new and moderated thread next week so we we'll be able organize everything on OP.

New threads do attract fresh interest.

Using more images and graphics will get traffic. Anime is about imagery, after all.

938  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: SUPERCOIN'S REVIVAL on: February 22, 2016, 09:18:41 AM
but this does not tell me maxmimum amount of mintable coins to be created by the end, was it supposed to stop after year 6 in which case we would have 58 million, were we staying with the 50 million? or were we going up to a higher number?

IMO, since you are talking about the actual total number of Super coins to ever exist would be 100 Million total.
That will still give many more years at 5%, plus the more coins in existence the more coins that are staking the more secure the network.

 Cool

pos security depends on the number of wallets online with valid staking not the number of coins, each wallet could be minting .0001 coins per stake and it would be just as secure as 10000 coins per stake.

So does that mean if there was a temporary moment when only say, 10% of the coins were in open wallets, a holder of 11% could not open up and potentially attack /overwrite the blockchain ? In fact they couldn't with 50% of the staking weight ? (I have noticed that at times I have had, in another coin, near to 50% of the staking weight when my holding was only 0.2% of the existing coins)
939  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: rpietila Altcoin Observer on: February 17, 2016, 11:44:11 PM
General observation: LTC after bubble is more and more boring (PPC, NMC follow), more and more buzz around Monero, Dash breakout but now lack of buyers... I guess XMR should rise soon. But I wonder if poloniex can handle big daily vol if Xmr will have a new solid uptrend...

polo trading engine should do just fine. It has handled big volume before including with LTC recently.  If you want more exchanges to list xmr then you should ask them to do it!

Polo is handling $10Mil per day atm in ETH alone
940  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: HoboNickels - HBN - High Fast Stake - Version 1.5. Come on in the water's fine! on: February 17, 2016, 11:35:56 PM
I want to buy HoboNickels. My price is 0.00001 BTC for one HBN (1000 Satoshis for one HBN, 100,000 HBN for one BTC). This is, because the only exchange cryptopia is not widely accepted at this time.

I wished Tranz to act as a trustee in between us. First send the HBN to Tranz' trust account, and send the transaction information in my PM and in Tranz' PM. (I suppose his wallet is backed up appropriately) (I would also trust a person, that Tranz has trust in)

Then I send the BTC to the sellers account, and list the transaction information
in the sellers PM and in trustees PM.

After some days, if I finish my buys, Tranz sends 99% of the collected stake into my account. 1% is for him.

If interested, I will make a separate thread to keep this thread clean. (offer not yet opened, but in preparation) (and please, do not try to negotiate a higher price, I will not accept, but clean this in the moderated thread)

If you bid on Cryptopia, that will help trade to establish more quickly, and you can trade more.  Trading on threads is just prolonging the coin's dormancy.
