Apparently, markets are about to lose a bit more than 1 tril in liquidity. https://finance.yahoo.com/news/trillion-dollar-treasury-vacuum-coming-135944792.htmlLyn Alden was suggesting that bitcoin price actually correlates the best with the liquidity waves. If you put both statements together, then it is possible that we might decline somewhat between now and Sept-Oct. But, it's just a conjecture...there is less than a year to halving in April 2024...at some point between now and then we shall reach at least 35-40K, imho. The trajectory from here to there could be either smooth or bumpy, we shall see.

Brace for a big old collapse that is going to make 2007-2009 look like a walk in the park.
I thought the same, but my timing in VIX call purchases was not great....so far

I am not sure how it's related to Coinbase. I saw the email address was Coinbase@pro.space. But this is the received email. If a user uses their email on the internet, it's not hard for a scammer to collect email information from the internet and use them for their purposes. The email they got is pretty much an old scam. I am surprised these scam attempts still work, and people fall for it. The scammers send the same email to thousands of emails. One Reddit member said the Bitcoin address he received from a scammer to pay; he already got five $400 transactions. This means five people got scammed. I did not see anyone commenting on whether they are Coinbase users. Life is a series of IQ tests. it was 20 thou years ago and that's why we got so smart...it ain't now and that's why we are getting progressively dumb and dumberer...I have a front view as i see the level of students' intellect and preparation with a noticeable downslope in the last 12-15 years, accelerating after 2020. From my point of view, i don't see how it could be reversed. I don't know what is causing it, and why there is no urgent alarm sounded so far. We are on the way to 'idiocracy', maybe governed by the AI 'overloads'. I am sorry to paint a bleak picture...maybe someone has an explanation...I would like to hear it.

Beijing has released a white paper titled "Web3 Innovation and Development White Paper (2023)" --snip--The release of the white paper suggests China opening up to the crypto industry to some extent. Yes, they need to be able to ban it again. China: openly banning, secretly allowing (or moving in this direction). US: openly allowing, secretly banning (or moving in this direction) EU: quoi?? hmmm

250K? It looks like PTB are infatuated with a newer toy aka AI (running NVDA to almost 1 tril in valuation). To me, it makes it less likely for us to see growth from 26-27K to 250K in this cycle.
However, some upward pulse has to be expected and the value of btc in the fall of 2024 would probably determine how much running power it would have. If only 50-60K by that date, then $120K would be the new ATH target and if btc is already at ATH by the fall of 2024, then we can, indeed, spike to 180K and maybe even 220-250K.
^ above is a pure speculation based on about 10 years of experience and not much else..I don't have a fancy trend graph to show (at least i did not make it yet).

I feel like the next week or two is going to be pretty scary for investments of all kinds. With politicians seemingly playing chicken over a debt ceiling agreement and equities already beginning to selloff, you have to be worried that Bitcoin could see a major dip here. I’m not a believer that Bitcoin will be a savior asset that goes up when everything else crashes.
It could be coming...I hedged a little in fiat world, still just hodling bitcoin (no moves to report).

ChartBiddy to WO is the same as CMB (cosmic microwave background radiation at 2.725K) to the Universe. It has to be there to provide a nice background plus it is a remnant of the past "inflationary" events.

Last week was too much in the meat space for me...it's nice to finally relax a bit, I hope. For now, I am ignoring bitcoin's ups and downs, but have some "dry powder", which I am eager to deploy at some point between now and the halving (occurring in April 2024, most likely). Asked AI to make a trip itinerary...it derped...did not "know" when particular museums are closed and whatnot, which IS publicly available data. Soooo...much improvement is still needed, but, otherwise, the rest of the itinerary was OK. I will be using more of it to do some mundane (or best half-prompted tasks) in the future. I give 10% to the probability of something weird happening in finances in the next 2-3wk, albeit the default probability is only 1% last time i checked. Higher odds from me because D's and R's are not really talking much and TS is a bit old and not very 'dynamic' to say the least. Eggs being $2.12 vs above $6...wow. A major 'deflation' . I wonder if housing would do the same? Currently, people are just not lowering the prices and hope for the best. In the area somewhere close a couple of houses sit at unrealistic prices almost 6 mo already.

Come on bitcoin, that's enough fooling around! Don't make me get JJG to slap you. According to various sources, it supposed to be a mating behavior, but I have seen in the ponds around here small turtles doing this in front of the much larger one's (even more difference in size vs your pic). I was actually thinking that it is some kind of feeding request, 'cause a tiny male Turtle jr ain't going to impress a big "girl", me thinks, but stranger things happen.

Regarding Canada vs USA being French Québec would be easier to immigrate to for sure, but I want southern US weather...not mountains of snow to shovel.
Also I'm a certified expert on a Canadian brand of IT stuff (but it's well used in the US too).
ooookay, it's 95-105F (35-40.5C) from about mid May to mid October around here, more or less. Lots of greenery, though, and, surprisingly, lots of conifers (pine, etc.)

Tropic countries when they see people taking melatonin suplements:
Really?.
you are mixing melatonin with melanin, buddy. you get more melanin (dark skin pigment) when exposed to the sun; in tropics more, of course. A different substance.

This is a bit tangential but within the bounds of 'same continent same rules.' I was reading a Scientific American article about melatonin today. I actually have given my daughter a 3mg sublingual cherry flavoured melatonin on very rare occasions when she can't sleep and this article addressed that issue: excerpt from https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/should-you-give-your-kid-melatonin/ The article says: " In the U.S., melatonin is categorized as a dietary supplement and thus doesn’t require a prescription, whereas in the European Union, the U.K., Australia, Japan and Canada, it is available by prescription only. For kids, there’s no universally agreed-upon dosage or age at which they can start taking the supplement." I know for a fact that in Canada melatonin is treated as a supplement and is available OTC just like in the US with no prescription required. I find it disheartening that one of the oldest and highly respected science publications can't get their facts straight. I did some searching online and it seems to be a common misconception that melatonin is outright banned in Canada... it is not. There are 18 pages of products containing melatonin listed in the government of Canada's Natural and Non-prescription Health products database any of which are available OTC. Now I can't trust any of the article. I might as well just take an unscientific poll here! Who thinks it's okay to give my kids melatonin once in a while? Actually, a pretty balanced article, in my opinion. I am pretty shocked that they charged someone for giving melatonin to daycare kids, although it is not the best practice, for sure. Seems like a solution in search of a problem. They used to dumb them all (or make them not doing anything active) with TV before. Regarding doing so episodically, basically no data and no advice, sorry. However, if a kid (or even an adult) watches an ipad for a while before going to sleep, maybe this could be a cause because it has been shown to reduce "natural" melatonin secretion. Dose wise, brain produces 0.3mg/per day. However, it is absolutely not clear from the article itself how much of, say, 1 or 3 mg dose you take actually enters the bloodstream. Mixed feelings, but article pinpoints those with ADHD/ADD as benefiting the most. PS it is a non-addictive substance, but in any physiological response, there could be a negative feedback loop that could affect the situation. Typically, when the level of some important substance in the body is too high, then the production of it decreases, which may affect the situation for the next day or a few days.

Hugh... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8DehQKs2uZ0A sharp intellect behind a clownish demeanor. The guy used to run the Eclectica bond hedge fund, made tons of money, 'retired' to the home office, yachts, etc main points: a. Says to buy TLT (a paradoxical move) b. Mentions bitcoin allocation (his words: maybe 4X in the next five years if I remember correctly) c. Has a "nasty" prediction as to what FED/treasury would do-you won't like it!

Bitcoin likes to remember the "modem" numbers....28.8K...most of you are too young to remember those. well, there were more...33.6K, then ...56K enjoy (or not): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xalTFH5ht-kPS I used a 28.8 modem (or maybe it was 19.2K) to download series of pictures of Shoemeiker-Levy comet hitting Jupiter in the summer of 1994...it took hours.
